Donate Blood Today!

I recently donated blood! I try to donate every three months because it’s the easiest way to help others. I regularly visit the Philippine Red Cross Quezon City Chapter for my donations as this is the center closest to my home.

Please do take note of the medical check-up that will be conducted onsite prior to bleeding. You will then be advised if you are a suitable donor.

To increase your chances of being a suitable donor, eat a heavy breakfast and avoid smoking or drinking prior to donating. I don’t smoke and I only drink socially so this isn’t an issue with me.

Also, females must donate before having their monthly period to ensure that their hemoglobin levels are stable.

Please also consider donating blood, especially during this pandemic. The Philippine Red Cross provides free transportation during the pandemic for donors. Social distancing is fully enforced. Please wear a mask and face shield at the center at all times.

God bless us all!

Summer Donation

Yesterday, I had brunch at Bon Appetea, a new all-day breakfast place at my local park. They serve milk tea, pasta, breakfast rice meals, and coffee.

I had their Spanish sardines rice bowl with brewed coffee. It was delicious!

Then, I went to my local Red Cross chapter to donate blood.

Donating blood is free, and it empowers me as it enables me to help save lives. To donate blood, please go to your local Red Cross chapter or hospital blood bank. Every blood donor is a hero!

I ended my morning with a selfie with the Rizal Monument at the Quezon City Hall. I’m a huge Rizal fan, and this made me giddy as it was my first time to see the statue up close.

We had to rush my father to the hospital very early yesterday morning, so I needed a heavy brunch for a successful blood donation. I also had meetings yesterday, so my blood donation provided me with much-needed good vibes in order to be professional.

Sharing our blessings can lead to good karma in all aspects of our lives. Donate blood, volunteer, or spend time with the needy. Summer is meant to spread sunshine with those who need it most.

Piece of my Heart

Yesterday, I visited a micro cinema, some churches, and a dog cafe. I also did a good deed.

My first stop was St. Joseph Shrine at Anonas, Quezon City.

Then, I went to Cinema ‘76 across the street.

I watched Hintayan ng Langit while knitting my new scarf and I loved every minute of it! It was funny and dramatic. And I can’t get over how lovely sets are! As always, Gina Pareño was a gem. I highly recommend this film!

I trooped to St. Clare to continue praying for my intentions.

Then, I went to Mendiola...

...to pray at St. Jude.

I also donated blood at the Red Cross bus which is there on all Thursdays of December. December 13, 2017 was when I had a memorable date with a guy I know, but things didn’t work out between us. While he’s still one of my best friends, we don’t have feelings anymore for each other. But that was still an unforgettable evening. To commemorate that night, and to remind myself that I have the power to help out in my own little way, I shared a piece of my heart- my own blood- to the Philippine Red Cross.

I ended my day with some iced tea while playing with the dogs of Barkin’ Blends Dog Cafe

I had a fun December 13, and I know that I will remember this day moving forward as the day when I shared a piece of my heart. Here’s to more warm, fuzzy memories ahead!

Blood Donation # 4

Yesterday, I was in Ortigas for a meeting. It was fruitful, and I missed walking around my favorite business district.

It was a lovely afternoon, so I proceeded to The Medical City to donate blood. Once again, please be reminded that you have to be cleared by your doctor first before donating blood. Please consult your health professional before doing so.

It was quick and relatively painless. And I do this because I want to give back in my own little way.

As always, I was given free merienda and was asked to rest for about thirty minutes before being cleared to leave.

There will always be a chance for us to help out, even if it’s only a small gesture. At some point in our lives, we were the ones in need. Please consider donating blood. Information can be searched online, particularly in your nearby hospitals or Red Cross chapter. God bless you!

Blood Donation # 3

Yesterday, I donated blood for the third time.

It was my second blood donation at the Philippine Red Cross Quezon City Chapter. My first time at the said chapter was last March, while my first-ever blood donation was last December at St. Jude

Please consult your doctor first before donating blood. You will also be asked to undergo screening before your actual blood donation.

Be sure to eat heavy breakfast before donating blood, and do not workout on the day of your donation.

As usual, I received a free snack after completing my donation.

For lunch, I indulged on the beef and onions set meal at Nord’s Bread Hub while knitting.

I also sketched my meal on my Traveler’s Notebook.

I had a lovely day, and donating blood always fills my heart with joy. If you are healthy, please consider donating blood as well. It will help save a life, and you will also be able to share the blessing of health.

Blood Donation # 2

Yesterday, I was fortunate to have the time to give blood for the second time. I felt awesome during my first blood donation last Christmas season. Blood donation is a fulfilling way to share one’s blessings, especially now that I am euthyroid.

Please consult your physician first before donating blood and do know that each donation has a screening process beforehand. It is a case-to-case basis, so be sure to be healthy before going through the process. If you cannot donate blood, there are definitely other ways to share your blessings, like volunteering and buying from social enterprises

I knitted while waiting for my turn at the Red Cross.

I was led to a recliner when it was my turn to donate.

After reading the guidelines provided by the medical technologist, it was showtime!

The process was quick and comfortable. Just like last time, I received a free snack afterwards.

It is a privilege to be a blood donor. I look forward to donating again. If you are healthy and cleared by your doctor from any ailments, please consider donating blood! It is one of the most rewarding acts of kindness you can do in your life.
