Today, Riot Games and Virgin Music Group released the music video for Stromae and Pomme’s single, “Ma MeilleureEnnemie” from Arcane League of Legends: Season 2 (Soundtrack From The Animated Series). The stunning video, animated and produced by Fortiche Production, captures the song’s emotional depth and narrative impact through a mix of live-action rendering and signature expressive animation. It was co-produced by Alex Seaver, executive music producer for Arcane season 2, and Luc Van Haver. The video was directed by Tom Gouill at Fortiche Production, who won the 2025 Annie Award for “Best Character Animation - TV/Media” for his work on Arcane season 2. Pascal Charrue, Arnaud Delord and Bart Maunoury served as creative directors with Christine Ponzevera executive producing.

The music video builds on the iconic dance sequence between fan-favorite characters Jinx and Ekko, as seen in Arcane season 2, episode 7. In the episode’s parallel world, Powder is seen helping Ekko experience true empathy. Later in the season, fans are shown how Ekko carries that experience and is driven by a desire to help Jinx in return, further exploring their tender and profound connection. “My first reaction when I saw the scene was, frankly, I found it quite poetic,” said Stromae in an upcoming video to fans. “I understood the vision that the directors and all the animators had of the series. They clearly knew what they wanted… I thought the music and everything worked well together, especially since it’s a pretty crucial moment.”

“Even to this day, it’s a song that continues to exist in people’s lives, and I think what happened is really magical…I actually understood the people’s reaction and enthusiasm because there was a kind of beauty, romanticism, and sweetness that is actually quite rare in the series,” said Pomme. “There was something special about that episode.”

The initial release of “Ma Meilleure Ennemie” was Riot’sbiggest streaming debut, peaking at over 10 million streams per day, reaching Top 3 globally on Spotify charts, and #1 on radio in France and Belgium. It is also certified Platinum in France and #1 on the US World Music Chart. The track also debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, a first for both Stromae and Pomme, and debuted on Billboard’s Global Excl. US chart at #8.

The Arcane season 2 soundtrack has already achieved remarkable success since its full release on November 22, 2024, and has amassed over 1.3 billion global streams. The soundtrack made a strong debut at #2 on the Spotify Global Album Charts and #26 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, solidifying its impact on the global music scene. The album also peaked at #2 on the Billboard Global 200 Soundtracks chart. The highly anticipated deluxe version of the soundtrack, which will include several additional remixes and features, will be released in April 2025.

The second season of Arcane debuted at #1 on Netflix on November 9, 2024 and reached the global top 10 English TV in 91 countries. Across both seasons, Arcane has spent a total of 15 weeks in the global Top 10 English TV list where it remained for 6 consecutive weeks. Ame revives ‘60s rockabilly with modern edge in new single “Ipagpatawad Mo”

Ame breathes new life into ’60s rock n’ roll with a contemporary twist in their new single, “Ipagpatawad Mo”—now available on all digital streaming platforms via Evosound Philippines.

A denim-clad anthem of rebellion and romance, “IpagpatawadMo” blends blues-infused guitar riffs, electrifying rhythms, and raw, visceral energy. Channeling the spirit of rockabilly while infusing it with a fresh, dynamic sound, the track delivers a high-octane listening experience that combines the band’s signature DIY ethos with a more polished musical approach.

“We wanted a song that people can dance to,” Ame shares in an official press statement. “We’ve dabbled with the bluesy side of rockabilly, but we made sure to stay true to our creative vision. This track is special because it showcases our individual and collaborative strengths. Zarviel’s commanding vocal presence, the explosive guitar-drum interplay of Silas and Seuss, and Regit’s dynamic basslines  all come together to create a sound that balances madness and order.”

Produced by Max Cinco and Paulo Agudelo with Sam Marquez handling mixing and mastering duties, “IpagpatawadMo” doesn’t adhere to a specific era. Instead, it moves fluidly through time, weaving nostalgia with a modern edge.

Lyrically, “Ipagpatawad Mo” draws inspiration from a real-life story that bassist Regit encountered during his time as a barber.

“This is based on a story of a client of mine back when I was working in a barbershop during college,” Regit reveals. “He was a humble guy competing against a wealthy suitor for the heart of a woman he adored. Though her family favored the other man, he won her over through perseverance, humor and his talent for dancing. That became the heart of the song.”

“Ipagpatawad Mo” marks the first official single off Ame’s highly anticipated debut album, Kwentong Barbero—a collection of eight tracks, each inspired by stories Regit has heard over the years while cutting hair. The album promises a gritty yet heartfelt narrative that captures tales of love, struggle, and triumph through the lens of rock n’ roll.

To celebrate this new chapter, Ame is set to perform “Ipagpatawad Mo,” along with fresh cuts and fan favorites live at the second floor of Kowloon House in Matalino Street, Quezon City on April 12, 2025.

The name

The band name Slot Machine isn’t about gambling - it’s about synergy – how a slot machine’s moving parts work together, appearing as separate components but ultimately creating a unified outcome. The three members see themselves the same way: three distinct individuals, each bringing something unique to the table, but together they create one powerful sound. Also, a slot machine is constantly in motion, and so are they – always evolving, pushing forward, and breaking new ground. Slot Machine the band is never static; they are all about movement and progression.

 

The symbolic gesture

The band's iconic hand gesture, representing the 'Eye of Wisdom’, is a creative evolution of the traditional Thai wai, symbolising intelligence and mindfulness. It reflects how wisdom transcends dualities like suffering and happiness, promoting balance and awareness. According to frontman Foet, the gesture embodies the concept of the third eye - the understanding that life has more than two sides. Fans will recognise this gesture, particularly during the song "Chan Chao", as part of Foet’s signature stage presence.

 

The career

From their early days competing in high school music contests to headlining sold-out shows for over 15,000 fans, Slot Machine has continually evolved, reaching new heights with their 2011 album Cell which swept nine major awards in Thailand, including Album of the Year. In 2013, they gained international recognition with a nomination for Best Southeast Asian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and they performed alongside Jason Mraz to an audience of 70,000 at the MTV EXIT Live in Myanmar concert.

 

In 2014, they celebrated their 10th anniversary with a monumental concert, playing to 15,000 adoring fans. The following year, they embarked on their first UK tour, performing at iconic venues in London, including Camden’s Barfly.

 

2016 was a breakout year for the band internationally. They rocked The Dawn Concert in Taipei, a major New Year event organized by the Taiwanese Government, and performed at leading Asian rock festivals, including Fuji Rock in Japan, Super Slippa in Taiwan, Jisan Valley in Korea, and Clockenflap in Hong Kong. That same year, Slot Machine released their first English-language album, Spin The World, produced by Grammy-winning producer Steve Lillywhite.

 

A year later, Slot Machine joined Live Nation’s Asia On Tour, performing alongside Japanese superstar Miyavi and South Korean indie rock band Kiha & The Faces across North America. Upon returning to Bangkok, they headlined their own ‘Mothership Concert’, thrilling a wildly enthusiastic crowd.

 

In 2018, they collaborated with Taiwanese rock band MayDayto record a single, further expanding their cross-border influence.

 

In 2024, Slot Machine embarked on their EXIT TO ENTER world tour which included stops across Bangkok, Taipei, Singapore and Korea.

Chloe Angelides and I wrote the rest of the song so quickly - it flowed out of us so effortlessly, which in my eyes is usually a sign of a great song.”

About James Vickery

James Vickery is ready to bare his soul to the world. His journey has been anything but ordinary—one marked by resilience, self-discovery, and an unwavering passion for music.

“Something I realised a while ago was that a lot of people didn’t necessarily understand where the music comes from,” the South London artist says. “I had a story that I was always a little bit ashamed of, which is sad in a way, but there was never much representation for people with my condition in the music industry.”

Vickery is completely deaf in one ear. At eight years old, he was diagnosed with a non-cancerous growth of skin cells called a cholesteatoma, which was in his ear and growing toward his brain. Without surgery, he might have died within two months. The operation saved his life, and a vocal coach brought in to help him with his speech soon discovered his astonishing singing abilities.

He opened up about his journey in the moving 2021 documentary, 'Louder', which also explored his fascinating heritage. Born to a Welsh father and South African mother, Vickery, who is white-passing, has occasionally struggled with misconceptions from strangers.

“I think my whole career, I was really trying to be accepted by different communities while being afraid that they would reject me,” he says. “I would make music to try and impress people without realising it.” Somewhere along the road, though, he found an inner peace—one that allowed him to fully embrace himself and his artistry.

Vickery has a back catalogue most artists twice his age would envy. There’s the famous 
COLORS SHOW, which to date has racked up close to 40 million views and (Vickery’s fans tell him) soundtracked the conception of at least a dozen babies. His debut album, 'Songs That Make Me Feel' – featuring collaborations with R&B legend Musiq Soulchild and Atlanta hip-hop duo EARTHGANG – saw him hailed as the new face of UK R&B.

“I don’t want to be a sad story,” he says. “I’m very proud of going through what I have and coming out the other side.” His journey is a testament to resilience, and his music reflects that euphoria—an artist fully stepping into his own, without fear or hesitation.

Filipino rapper Waiian delivers a raw, unfiltered commentary on music and personal life with his highly anticipated third album, BACKSHOTS.

With the 9-track release, the acclaimed emcee takes a bold stand against the absurdity of the music establishment and trends, refusing to conform to social expectations, while reinforcing the importance of authenticity and staying true to one’s craft.

“BACKSHOTS serves as my testament to consistently speak my truth,” says the Solo Mission act. “The album is my rebelling against being known solely for motivational bars. Although I still believe in my roots, I also want toshowcase my lighter side: the playful, humorous person who enjoys my life journey even as I pursue my rap career.”

Produced with Love and Rage

The album, produced by Kashira Music Prod and Pistolgrip, was shaped through a mix of love and raw emotion, challenging Waiian to rap over sonic experiments and eclectic beats. Throughout the project, the Makati City-based hip-hop artist credits his inspiration to artists who are not afraid to push the boundaries of songwriting, performance, and production.

Key highlights from the album include “MAN IN THE MERROR,” the first track that he finished for this particular project, and “SI LODS NA ANG BAHALA,” which serves as a deep introspection of his life in a 3 minute and 32 second wav file. While he dedicates love, time, and focus to every single song in the record, making sure that each track possess its own distinct thought and direction, the aforementioned track reveals a splash of sentimentality that fits neatly alongside his earlier and current catalog.

He confides, “There is this one song that made me the most emotional when I came home from finishing it after several days of straight studio sessions. It’s SI LODS NA BAHALA, and I felt great being able to channel my life whereabouts in the confines of a song. It could be one of my favorite songs to perform from now.”

Music Video Releases

Waiian plans to accompany the release of the album with visuals featuring renowned collaborators and friends. The music video for “LODS NA BAHALA,” in particular, will have its own treatment, complete with archival imagery and locations from his formative years, including excerpts from the short films he made as a student and places he used to hang out at. “It’s about remembering my roots as a creative. These elements are blended with footage from my current life and experiences reflecting my artistic evolution.”

Additionally, the music video for “MAN IN THE MERROR,” which was directed Miguel Garcia from Madman Creative Solutions, will showcase his fun and goofy side, featuring places and people close to Waiian’s heart. He’s also in the pre-production stages of the music video of “SOFTIE,” which will highlight diverse couples representing variousunderrepresented identities in mainstream media, as well as a collaboration with Geloy Concepcion.

Live Performances and Upcoming Shows

Waiian will debut songs off BACKSHOTS live at the Wanderland Music and Arts Festival, where he’s meticulously planning and rehearsing every song for that special day to ensure a solid performance. Fans can expect a dynamic and energetic live set that captures the raw energy and emotional depth of his new album. He’s also set to co-headline the upcoming ALL OF THE NOISEmusic summit, along with Taiwanese band The Chairs, Singaporean rapper San The Wordsmith, and Thai indie pop collective KIKI.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Clara Benin, prolific post-rock artist GABBA, and seasoned musician Kakoy Legaspi will be joining Johnoy Danao’s highly anticipated first solo concert Liwayway at Dapithapon, happening on March 14 to 15, 2025, at the Metropolitan Theater (MET) in Manila.

 

Both Benin and GABBA are announced to perform on the first day of the concert, while Kakoy Legaspi will reunite with Danao on day 2.

 

“All guests are handpicked by Johnoy Danao,” minsan studiohead Jason Conanan reveals. “Each of them has played a crucial part in his music journey, both as collaborators and real-life friends.”

 

Marking a milestone in his 25-year-career as part of bluesy folk band Bridge and an accomplished singer-songwriter, the two-day concert celebrates his work and career in a live setting, complete with an intricate setup and a 15-piece orchestra conducted by Ria Villena-Osorio. The concert also follows Danao’s series of sold-out cafe shows, which took place in several intimate venues across the Philippines.

 

Conanan also introduced a special promo specifically for students who have been supportive fans of Johnoy Danao’s music. “minsan studio believes that everyone, especially young people, are the key to long-term careers of the artists,” the concert producer shares. “They are the most active fans. Most of the time they have limited financial capacity to do so, that’s why we came up with an initiative to show appreciation for their efforts.”

 

Conanan adds, “We started out with pay-what-you-can gigs and we find that people value these experiences differently. A student’s PHP 100 may be their savings for the day while to an adult, that’s just another coffee.  This is our way of helping bridge that gap.”

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Filipino singer-songwriter Noah Alejandre, who gained recognition as half of the award-winning alt-pop duo reon, is back in the spotlight with a new single that tugs at the heartstrings.

Following the success of his previously released hit “Nahuhulog Na Sa’Yo,” which has amassed nearly 40 million streams since its 2022 release, Alejandre takes a more introspective approach with his latest track “Mga Kaibigan.”

A melancholic musing on how friendship changes over time, “Mga Kaibigan” pays tribute to the platonic relationships that we leave behind as we grow and pursue our individual paths. Written when Alejandre moved away from his hometown, the song captures the bittersweet truth of how life’s natural progression often leads to parting ways with the people who once meant everything.

March 07, 2025 (Manila, Philippines) — Indie alternative band SOS reflects on endings in their new single, “Yumi & The Apocalypse,” the carrier single of their forthcoming sophomore album, It Was A Moment, out on March 28th.

 

Blending old, familiar sounds with new, experimental production, “Yumi & The Apocalypse” hones in on SOS’s strong storytelling, often centered on personal and serving as an avatar of collective experiences, delicately balancing their tendency towards cynicism (or, “a stroke of sadness,” as they describe it) with a more mellowed maturity. While the song is about a breakup, “Yumi” tells it with more grace. As the band puts it, “It’s with less spite and more acceptance.”

 

Originally written with a different chorus by vocalist Roberto Seña, the band kept the older production and incorporated standout rearrangements by Ram Alonzo (keys) and King Puentespina (drums), who also both work on synths. Kiddo Cosio, the owner of beloved El Union coffee shop and roastery, played on trumpet for the track.

 

While “Yumi & The Apocalypse” still delivers SOS’ self-described classic “guitars, angsty but melancholic singing,” the end result is brought together by dynamic sources of inspiration and sound palettes from all five members, even if it meant not capitulating to a highly pop-oriented market—but with hopes it will resonate with people, too. “It was rewarding hearing the music come together. It always is… A lot of artists are too concerned to make a pop hit, but sometimes you just want to let some angst out,” they said. “We’re always just trying to amuse ourselves at this point. Never fully concerned if listeners today want this from us. If it lands, it lands. We’re just happy to be in the studio and bring life to whatever stories we have to tell.”

 

The single arrives after the announcement of the five-piece band’s highly anticipated second album, It Was A Moment, following their critically acclaimed 2017 debut LP, Whatever That Was and their first full-length release since the addition of Alonzo in 2023.

The globally acclaimed Hiphop/R&B girl group XG has been appointed as the new brand muse for ANESSA, a suncare brand from Shiseido.

With this announcement, XG will appear in two new commercials for "ANESSA Perfect UV Skincare Gel NA" (The Harmony) and "Anessa Perfect UV Skincare Milk NA" (The Perfect UV), as well as a 60-second brand film titled "Free to Shine". These are launched on February 28th), with TV campaigns set to begin on April 1st.
 
The brand film showcases XG embracing the lightweight, hydrating feel of ANESSA’s sunscreen, enjoying themselves under the sun with confidence and ease. Their track "IS THIS LOVE" has been selected as the ANESSA global campaign song. Originally released in November as part of their second mini-album AWE - which marked their debut entry on the Billboard 200 - the song will also be re-released as a digital single on March 7th.
 
The commercials will feature an exclusive a cappella version of the song alongside a dynamic dance scene, where XG members appear in fresh, sunlit outfits, delivering an energetic performance of "IS THIS LOVE" under the blue sky.
