Josh Cullen returns to his solo era with “Like Me,” his collab single with multi-awarded Korean-American rapper Jay Parkunder Sony Music Entertainment.
Produced by Josh Cullen himself and co-written with Mathew Auditor and Jay Park, “Like Me” reflects on a world increasingly shaped by imitation, adaptation, and algorithmic influence, where originality can easily be diluted by the pressure to follow familiar formulas.
Its accompanying music video expands on this concept through a striking sci-fi-inspired visual world, anchored by intricate choreography and a cast of backup dancers. The music video is helmed by Josh Cullen, alongside Iana Forbes and Louis Duran, extending the song’s conceptual exploration into its visual language.
“LIKE ME” ultimately challenges the notions of identity from Josh Cullen’s lens. Instead of simply resisting change, the song embraces transformation while drawing a line between adapting and becoming someone else. Without these inevitable compromises, “adaptation risks becoming indistinguishable from imitation,” as Josh puts it.
The prominent Filipino singer, songwriter, rapper, and dancer from SB19 recently debuted “LIKE ME” on stage at his solo live showcase last Saturday, September 26, at Samsung Hall in SM Aura, Taguig City.
On October 2, selected lucky fans will get the chance to learn the choreography for Josh Cullen’s “LIKE ME” at an exclusive dance workshop at SPAC3 Studios in Quezon City. More detailshere.
