Listen to “Mayonaka no Door~stay with me” here

Since her debut in 1979, Miki Matsubara has left a vivid impression on the Japanese pop music scene and has become the driving force behind the recent global City Pop boom. Now, her debut single, "Mayonaka no Door~stay with me," has officially surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify, making it the 10th Japanese song in history to achieve this milestone. Notably, this is the first-ever feat for a Japanese song released in the 1900s.

Mainly driven by digital natives and overseas listeners, her support continues to expand even today, recording an unprecedented long-term hit that transcends the boundaries of eras and national borders.

Starting with its 18-day run at No. 1 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart in December 2020, the song has consistently maintained its position within the TOP 10 on the "Billboard Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan" and "GENIUS JAPAN INTERNATIONAL TOP10" since tracking began.

Furthermore, "Mayonaka no Door~stay with me" has been nominated for "Best Japanese Song in Latin America" at Japan's international music awards, "Music Award Japan 2026," for the second consecutive year. With non-stop offers for film soundtracks pouring in from all over the world - including the United States, France, the Czech Republic, South Korea, and Singapore - the track is gaining increasing attention from global video creators and drawing worldwide eyes as an iconic representation of Japanese music.
