June 1st, 2026 – Global pop and style icon, as well as former f(x) member, KRYSTAL returns with “PWLT”, a refined new solo R&B release that further ushers in her long-awaited solo era. Fans can stream the track here and watch the music video here.
Blending Korean pop with warm ’80s and ’90s soul, boogie, and modern alt-R&B influences, “PWLT” channels the timeless sounds of artists like Sade and Janet Jackson. The track serves as the second release from KRYSTAL’s forthcoming debut solo album, following her highly anticipated comeback single “Solitary” released in November 2025. Built around a sparkling mellow R&B groove, the song takes its title from the infectious hook “People Want to Live Together”, reflecting on themes of connection, purpose, and human relationships.
To bring the record to life, KRYSTAL assembled an all-star lineup of Asian talent. The track features guitar work from Kuo-Hung Tseng (Kuo) of acclaimed Taiwanese band Sunset Rollercoaster (落日飛車), alongside mesmerizing synth contributions from Oh Hyuk, frontman of beloved Korean indie band HYUKOH.
Further connecting KRYSTAL to the soul, boogie, and funk influences she deeply admires, “PWLT” was written and produced by legendary American producer and songwriter Steve Lindsey. His acclaimed career includes credits with Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Alexander O’Neal, as well as performing keys for Chaka Khan — in addition to famously discovering Bruno Mars.
Adding to the excitement surrounding the release, an official music video for “PWLT” was also released on KRYSTAL’s official YouTube channel.

About KRYSTAL
Krystal debuted in 2009 at the age of fourteen as a member of f(x), one of the most influential groups in modern K-pop. Their second studio album 'Pink Tape (2013)' was cited as one of the ‘100 Greatest Korean Albums’ curated by Korean music critics and remains a touchstone release within the genre. The group’s final studio album, '4 Walls (2015)', received a 7.3 score from Pitchfork and drew both domestic and international praise for its refined, future-leaning dance-pop production.
Meanwhile, following her recent performance as Jeon I-kyung alongside Ha Jung-woo, Lim Soo-jung, and Kim Jun-han in the tvN drama “How to Become a Building Owner in Korea”, Krystal has also confirmed her appearance in the Korea-Japan co-production “You Hear Me”, directed by Oe Takamasa, who co-wrote the screenplay for “Drive My Car” and won the Best Screenplay award at the Cannes Film Festival as part of Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s creative team, continuing her active career as an actress as well.
Krystal will return to music in 2026 with her first solo album, nearly a decade after her last activities as a member of f(x).
