MANILA, PHILIPPINES—Laguna-born and Quezon City-based solo artist neytan drops the official music video for his new single “ikaw lang ang bossing ko”, to be posted on Offshore Music’s YouTube page on October 30. With the continuous rise of his release, “ano lasa ng pag-ibig? edi tipaklong” which garnered over a million streams on Spotify alone and 150K spins on TikTok, the Laguna lover boy shared his follow-up single “ikaw lang ang bossing ko” on June 19th as a way to further promote his “quirky song titles with deep meaning “ agenda. As of the moment, “ikaw lang ang bossing ko” has been getting similar traction from his previous release, with the song being an anthem for adoration and uplifting your favorite person. To celebrate this new feat, neytan worked with label Offshore Music to produce the official music video for “ikaw lang ang bossing ko”, which was heavily inspired by his equally successful lyric video of the track which was posted on his own YouTube channel last June. The video features the Quezon City-based singer alone in a bathroom of Room 5, Chapterhouseplaying the song with his guitar as the official lyrics pops on screen. In the concept of bathrooms being the main setting of these musical projects, the artist vehemently believes that these locations are a necessity for everyone so doing these songs in these places is just fitting, but mostly because it is fun and undeniably comical—which suits neytan’s artistic identity very well; meaningful yet amusing.

The official music video, set to drop on October 30, is more intentional with its narrative with neytan playing the song again in a bathroom (specifically at Sari Kitchen), but with a certain recognizable figure awaiting behind the stall and it is none other than “ultimate OPM bossing” Ely Buendia, rock icon and CEO of Offshore Music.  “1. It was a very exciting concept and it feels like a weird dream doing it with Sir Ely [Buendia],” shares neytan. The young hitmaker has been with Buendia’s label since 2023 with “Microbangs” as his first ever release, and since then, both neytan and the label have been working hand-in-hand to further push his music to eyes and ears everywhere. Moreover, the “ikaw lang ang bossing ko” music video is edited by himself, and he cites his eagerness and excitement due to him currently being a multimedia arts student. “I generally love being creative in any area,” neytan adds, noting that his talent transcends beyond sonic projects but also visual arts.

About neytan

neytan’s goofy and scatterbrained exterior can be amusing, yet fascinating at the same time as he incorporates it into his music. His pop sound is highly influenced by the 60s to the 80s only if a nerdy Paul Dano created it with the confidence of Alex Turner wearing tight leather pants and the easygoing vibe of the famous cartoon cat, Garfield. However lax his tunes are, they still seem to radiate with a great variety of people, ranging from those who would listen to that mellow, nonchalant, sound to those who primarily listen to hypnagogic pop and post-punk. This emanates from his belief that the simplest forms of entertainment could have the biggest impact on people’s lives–similar to how cartoons and daily internet memes are. Taking this in mind, neytan aims to further maximize and explore the impact of simplicity as he thrives in today's music scene.neytan’s Socials:
