ABOUT ONE OR EIGHT
ONE OR EIGHT is an eight-member Japanese boy group - MIZUKI, NEO, REIA, RYOTA, SOUMA, TAKERU, TSUBASA and YUGA - whose name is derived from the Japanese idiom “ippuku ka yoka” (one or eight, meaning “all or nothing”). Guided by their tagline “BET ON YOURSELF”, the group embodies a spirit of risk-taking and ambition, encouraging fans to dream boldly and take chances alongside them.
They debuted on 16 August 2024, with “Don’t Tell Nobody”, produced by Ryan Tedder and David Stewart. The single debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Japan HeatseekersSongs chart. Later that year, their collaboration with Big Sean, “KAWASAKI (with Big Sean)”, reached No. 5 on the U.S. iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Song chart, signalling the group’s early global appeal.
Momentum accelerated in 2025, when ONE OR EIGHT were named one of Nikkei Entertainment!’s 100 New Leading Artists and received the Upcoming Dance & Vocal Group award at MTV VMAJ. They also made history as the first Japanese boy group to walk the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA). Their regional presence grew further during a visit to Singapore, where they performed for a capacity crowd at Yes933 Hits Fest and took the stage at Music Matters Live, deepening their connection with fans across Southeast Asia.
The year continued to be prolific, driven by a steady stream of releases exploring themes of ambition and challenge - “DSTM” (March), “365” (June), “Young & Reckless” (August) and “BET YOUR LIFE” (September). Their live presence expanded as they joined the stellar lineup at a-nation, alongside Ayumi Hamasaki, NCT Wish, TRF and NEXZ. Fan meetings across Japan, Thailand, the US, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina further broadened their global footprint, making 2025 a defining period of momentum, growth and rising international visibility.
