Muri and Shigge capture the fleeting beauty of twilight in new song “Golden Hour”

Filipino soul-pop artist Muri and Japanese electronic producer Shigge have finally dropped  “Golden Hour,” the luminous first single off their upcoming joint EP, SETSUNA—slated to be released next month.

The soulful electronic track serves as the entry point into the shared universe Muri and Shigge crafted together, capturing the fleeting beauty of twilight: the moment when day dissolves into night.

“It’s the kind of song that lives in transition: when you wrap up work, call it a day, and grab a happy hour beer on a rooftop,” Muri shares. “It’s for that moment when the house DJ begins to play, and you let the music take you somewhere else. Everything else—your wins, frustrations, and should-have-beens, disappear into the sunset.”

Exuding warmth and airiness in equal measure, “Golden Hour” reveals its sophistication through layers of soft textures, downtempo rhythms, and breathy, emotive vocals. Shigge’sintrospective production, and Muri’s soul-stirring performance transform the track into more than just mood music; it becomes a feeling suspended in golden light, both ephemeral and memorable.

The track was first conceived during an intensive songwriting camp at the AXEAN Festival in Bali, Indonesia last year, where Muri and Shigge crossed creative paths. What began as a spontaneous studio session has evolved into months of sonic exchange, with ideas bouncing fluidly between Tokyo, London, and Manila.

The cross-collaboration between the two artists yielded a 5-stop tour in between Tokyo and Manila, happening this July and August:

Tour dates:

July 22 – Ord. / Shibuya, Tokyo City, Japan

July 23 – Gamuso Asagaya / Suginami-ku, Tokyo City, Japan
July 24 – Ruby Room / Shibuya, Tokyo City, Japan
August 1 – Sari-Sari (The Rest Is Noise) / Makati City, Philippines
August 2 – Electric Sala (Locked Down Entertainment) / Makati City, Philippines

About Muri

Muriel Gonzales, known as Muri, is a Filipino musician and singer-songwriter based between  Manila, London and Paris. Known as the violinist of Manila’s beloved indie folk band The Ransom Collective, Muri has since stepped into a solo career defined by soul-rooted pop, gentle rhythmic swing, and deeply introspective storytelling. Her vocal delivery—smooth, rich, and intimate—is at the center of her evolving sonic identity, balancing vulnerability with strength.

Her 2024 debut solo EP 11ème earned press coverage from Billboard Philippines, NME, and Bandwagon, and followed earlier nominations at the Awit and Wish Awards for her single Letters. A genre-blender at heart, Muri fuses elements of neo-soul, indie R&B, and electronic pop—often writing about personal change, belonging, and emotional memory. With performances across Asia and Europe, and recent showcases at Axean Bali, Bangkok Music City 2025, and SXSW Austin 2025, she's positioned to reach more global audiences.

About Shigge

Shigge is a Tokyo-based beatmaker, DJ, and founder of the independent label YesterdayOnceMore. He’s a central figure in Japan’s new wave of lo-fi, electronic house, and genre-bending beat music. His 2021 album Silver Smoker and latest release Unpack (2024) both showcase his ability to balance softness and movement—a soundtrack for introspective nights and sunrise walks.

In addition to solo work, Shigge has collaborated with acts like AmPm and Snowk, and remixed tracks for Carpainter and starRo. His collective project Ohnesty with BRISA earned support from BBC Radio 6 and VICE Japan, proving his growing international resonance. He’s an artist who blurs the lines between producer, curator, and sonic storyteller.
