November 24th, 2025 – Rising genre-bending EDM artist rouri404 is back again and has released his new single “videostar” on Red Bull Records. Fans can stream the song here and watch the visualizer here.
The new track builds on the momentum following four prior releases this year, only further showcasing his ability to move between the subgenres of EDM without losing his clear personal sound. “videostar” takes a high-tempo production and seamlessly blends in Dance-Pop stylings. It’s raw with the same intensity that listeners have come to expect from the electronic artist, but “videostar” turns up the heat.
From the thumping beat that kicks off the track to the growing layers to his production, it is immediately clear that the listener is joining rouri404 on a journey. His vocals take the front seat in this track, as he builds a perfect accompaniment to the song’s production. As “videostar” builds to its drop, listeners hear bold, clear inspiration from classic EDM – a danceable, infectious energy and undeniable groove.
On the single, rouri404 shares, “"videostar" feels like the peak of everything I’ve been working on for the last year. The energy, production, lyrics; everything about it is a culmination of our work since the beginning. From the first couple of pulses of the beat I knew exactly what I wanted it to be. Hard captivating EDM, intense vocals tinging towards a scream with an almost kind of raw intimate delivery behind them”.
Working with incredible director Chris Bradford – who has previously worked with Yung Fazo, tonser, jackzebra, and more to bring their music to life – the visualizer for “videostar” sees rouri404 bring the energy straight from the song to the screen.

Reflecting on this third release of the year, rouri404 continues, “The track's title was inspired by the song “Video Killed the Radio Star”, which I have seen on VH1 classics more times than I can remember as a kid. All in all, the song is a homage to house, dubstep and EDM as a whole, with my best attempt at keeping some catchy pop elements in the mix as well”.
After taking nearly a year away from releasing music in a starkly more emo-adjacent/hyperpop lane, rouri404 has made a clear comeback in a new direction. He started his set of new releases with synth-heavy track “miss it” and his most recent electronic single “body (i want you)” – followed shortly by two “body (i want you)” remixes in collaboration with breakout electronic artists Kets4eki and Parv0.

About rouri404
Art and the internet are society’s last true equalizers, a refuge for the disadvantaged and dispossessed to take on an alias or avatar, rise above their circumstances and become whoever they want. Indeed, for most of his life, Orlando native Joseph (Joey) Cash thrived in the grids and waveforms of Logic and SoundCloud when more traditional structures failed him - a high school dropout at 16, Joey’s future was clouded by substances and self-doubt. By the beginning of 2021, Joey realized that he could not half-step his way towards transcendence.
Expanding beyond his early incarnation as a hyperpop artist, Joey took on the name rouri404 and finally became himself. Following 2022’s striking 'GORE' EP, rouri404 leans even harder into guitar-driven rock and emo, a showcase for his emerging talents as a lyricist, arranger and executive producer.
He’s coherent and concise, inspired by the duality that comes with creating art in online spaces - how does one reconcile the unlimited capacity for self-expression with the unlimited capacity for self-invention? rouri404 sees artists like the prolific Bones and the perfectionist Daft Punk as his two guardian angels; “I’ve found myself struggling between being mysterious with perfect visuals and perfect aesthetics and the other side of, I want to get as much out as fast as possible”. Yet, as rouri404’s skills and stature escalate, the creative process remains true to his origins as a lost soul with a lifeline to his audience, representing for people like himself - the misunderstood teens, the budding lyricists stuck behind the cash register of a dead-end job, the overwhelmed music nerds searching for something permanent in a time where everything feels disposable.
