XG has unveiled the title of their highly anticipated 2nd mini album, AWE, that is set for release on November 8th. Fans are buzzing with excitement, and the anticipation is heightened with the drop of "WOKE UP REMIXX (PROD BY JAKOPS)" on September 20th, as part of the partially revealed tracklist.
With their earlier release "WOKE UP" in May, XG impressed listeners with a bold hip-hop identity and an all-rap style that captivated audiences and marked a new direction in their music.
The remix, produced by JAKOPS (SIMON JUNHO PARK), Executive Producer/CEO of XGALX, has garnered considerable attention when he performed as a DJ during XG's inaugural world tour, "XG 1st WORLD TOUR 'The First HOWL’”. Stream it HERE.
Born in Seattle and influenced by both Japanese and Korean cultures, JAKOPS has infused the original track with fresh charm. The remix features eight prominent rappers representing Japanese and Korean hip-hop: Jay Park, OZworld, AKLO, Paloalto, VERBAL (m-flo), Awich, Tak, and Dok2, creating a vibrant cultural fusion that adds a new synergy to the original track.
"WOKE UP" has achieved remarkable success, ranking on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks and topping the Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan chart for nine weeks. About XG
XG is a seven-member HIPHOP/R&B girl group consisting of JURIN, CHISA, HINATA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA, and COCONA. They debuted in March 2022 with their 1st single, “Tippy Toes,” under the global entertainment production “XGALX,” promoting a bold culture to the world.
In September 2023, they released their 1st mini album, “NEW DNA,” which topped the Billboard Japan “Hot Albums” chart.
