Now continuing through the holiday season, this edition of Pasko at Nayon Natin is a feast not to be missed: showcasing festive collections, new unexpected collaborations, and shared experiences rooted in community.

Through Pasko at Nayon Natin, we celebrate community as our greatest gift.”

“This edition of Pasko at Nayon Natin is special because of a collaboration we’re having with ANTHILL,” says Larica, Co-Founder of Andanté Footwear, “it’s literally bayanihan in the form of fashion, as we created shoes made from fabrics–honoring two different communities, one from Marikina and another from Cebu.”

Barbie Almalbis takes over Shibuya Crossing in “All U Wanna Do” music video

October 3, 2025

The award-winning singer-songwriter braves rain, rush hour, and onlookers in a spontaneous Tokyo shoot directed by Niña Sandejas

Manila, Philippines – Acclaimed singer-songwriter Barbie Almalbis has released the music video for her latest single, “All U Wanna Do.”

The striking visual piece was shot guerilla-style at the iconic Shibuya Crossing, capturing Almalbis’ impassioned performance amid a bustling city life in Tokyo, Japan.

Singing with only her earphones as accompaniment, Almalbisstands in stark contrast to the rush of strangers around her, transforming a fleeting moment into a deeply personal expression of frustration, resilience, and artistry.

Directed and conceptualized by celebrated photographer and filmmaker Niña Sandejas, the project emerged from an impromptu creative adventure during Almalbis’ travels in Japan, where she’s invited to perform.

“It wasn’t an original idea—every day, tourists record themselves in that famous scramble—but this shoot was something else entirely,” Sandejas explains. “Barbie sang full voice with only her earphones as a backing track, while strangers brushed past, stared, or bumped into her. The rain gave us only a brief pause to work, and we had a hard stop because she was headed straight to a gig that night. A few takes, a lot of faith, and a camera chasing her through the rush: that was all we had. Behind the lens, what struck me most wasn’t the crowd or the noise, but Barbie’s composure. Her dedication to bring to life each of her songs, giving the same devotion to a pop-up shoot on a rainy Tokyo street as she would to a stage.”

Joining Sandejas and Almalbis on the road was a tight-knit team: Rachael Roldan, who handled hair and makeup and assisted in lighting, and Martin Honasan, Barbie’s husband, who helped with crowd management. Ysmael Salvador, editor of the video, took Niña’s chaotic handheld footage and tied it into a cohesive and magnetic narrative. Salvador has previously worked with Almalbis on the visuals of her songs “Platonic” and “Needy.”

“As a nod to Barbie’s history, we layered in an echo from Hungry Young Poets’ song ‘Runaway’ where the sound of traffic and voices in Japanese that once opened the track,” Nina adds. “It felt right to bring that spirit full circle, folding memory into the present.”

Reflecting on the collaboration, Almalbis praised Sandejas instinctive artistry: “Niña really is a natural, and I love seeing how she almost simply reacts to her surroundings instinctively. I think she has spent a long time mastering that art.”

Morissette marks 15 years with Ember: A Night of Legacy and New Beginnings

October 2, 2025

Manila, Philippines — When the lights go down at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on October 28, 2025, the crowd will rise to its feet to welcome back one of the most powerful voices of her generation. Morissette, Asia’s Phoenix, celebrates 15 years in music with Ember, a concert designed not only to showcase her vocal brilliance but to reflect on a journey that has inspired millions.

This year has already been monumental for her. She starred in her first feature film, Song of the Fireflies, where she showcased her dramatic range alongside her signature vocals. Her rendition of “Golden,” featured in the Netflix hit Kpop Demon Hunters, went viral and captured headlines, reaffirming her ability to leave a mark on both local and global audiences. Beyond the screen and streaming platforms, she has continued to bring Filipino artistry to international stages, building a legacy that now comes full circle on the Araneta stage.

Ember will be her first major solo concert at Araneta since 2018, and it carries the promise of an unforgettable night. With Troy Laureta directing the music, the performance is set to combine powerful arrangements with deeply personal storytelling. Morissette has hinted at a setlist that spans her 15-year career—songs that, for the first time, will come together in one breathtaking show. Some may never be performed again in a major concert, making Ember a rare chance to experience her story in its fullest form. Fans can also expect surprises, with the possibility of special guests joining Morissette on stage to mark the milestone.

Adding to the excitement, indie-folk favorites The Ridleys will open the night, known for their heartfelt storytelling and devoted following. Their presence creates a rare moment where two generations of Filipino musicians share one stage in celebration of artistry and legacy.

Tickets, priced from ₱999 to ₱9,499, have been in high demand since their release on Ticketnet. A newly opened Patron A section now brings more fans closer to the stage, while VIP and SVIP tiers offer exclusive experiencesincluding soundcheck access and signed memorabilia.

For Morissette, Ember is more than a concert—it’s a celebration, and a promise that her flame will continue to burn for years to come.

Leading the way is Philippine Airlines as the major sponsor, with Nyxys powering the event. Other valued partners include El Calle Food and Music Hall, Southwestern Flaming Grill, Maruca Bistro Italia, Ming’s Pei Pa Koa, and Guevarra’s, with more sponsors to be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets to Over October’s anniversary concert runs out in two hours

October 2, 2025

The chart-topping indie band announces to add 500 more passes for fans

Alternative pop band Over October is making waves once again as they celebrate their eleventh anniversary with a free major concert at the MOA Amphitheater on October 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. onwards.

The upcoming event generated overwhelming demand, with more than 3,000 passes claimed within just two hours of registration.

In response, the band announced today that they are adding another 500 passes exclusively through the SM Malls Onlineapp at 6:00 pm, giving more fans the opportunity to join what is set to be one of their most ambitious projects to date.

“This all feels like a dream,” Over October said in a press statement. “The goal has always been to headline big shows, but seeing it come to life is surreal. Last year, we had our first major concert, which was sold out for 2 days. This year, we wanted to treat our fans to a free concert. We allotted 3000 passes that fans could claim, and to our surprise, all the slots were redeemed within the first 2 hours after announcing the show.”

The anniversary concert is dedicated to “Octobears,” whom the Ikot act considers family. Beyond the long set and main performance, the band is curating a pre-concert showcase featuring Octobears busking and sharing their art, further championing their mission to build community through music.

“We want to inspire them to keep dreaming,” the band adds. “It took us 11 years to get to where we are now, and it’s not just because of our efforts. It’s also with the help of all the people who supported us. We want them to feel that this success is also theirs, as we’re celebrating our community of Octobears.”

Fans can expect a heightened concert experience filled with upgraded visuals and lighting direction, newly improved setlists, and surprise guest performances. The special show also doubles as a post-release celebration for their new single “Dahan,” which dropped on 26 across major streaming platforms. Produced by Shadiel Chan, the song captures Over October’s signature sound while introducing a more playful and melodically intense arrangement. Its accompanying lyrical visualizer features a special cameo by acclaimed actor Donny Pangilinan.

“Honestly, Dahan also kind of captures our whole journey in the music industry—a 10-year slow-burn relationship,” the chart-topping indie quintet reflects. “Being active in the music industry for 11 years is such a blessing to us; not a lot of independent artists are given this opportunity to be able to make music for a living for more than a decade. This new single, and this new concert, are both reminders of why we do what we do.”

Over October’s Anniversary Concert is presented by Over October and GNN.

Fans may redeem the additional 500 passes by searching “OVER OCTOBER” on the SM Malls Online app starting at 6:00 PM today.

Nateman, Baby Blood, and Yung Bawal - “PUSO AT ISIP”

October 1, 2025

The music video drops on October 1, 2025 at 10:00 pm, PH time

Filipino rappers Nateman and Baby Blood team up with acclaimed producer Yung Bawal on “PUSO AT ISIP,” a vibey, minimalist jam that explores the beautiful chaos of love caught between passion and reason.

Built on Yung Bawal’s lush yet groovy production, the track sets a magnetic backdrop for Nateman and Baby Blood’s sharp lyricism, weaving a story of desire tempered by hesitation.

The song dares to ask a timeless question: do we follow the quiet pull of peace or dive headlong into the risks of adventurous love? With sultry melodies, clever and playful verses, and Caribbean-inspired rhythms, “PUSO AT ISIP” is designed to keep listeners vibing long after the first play.

“This song really came out of nowhere, from pure feeling and soul,” Nateman shares in a press statement.

His brother and collaborator Baby Blood also echoes this authenticity, channeling raw emotion into verses that resonate with both intimacy and wit.

“We’re proud of the outcome,” Baby Blood adds. “The chemistry is undeniable, but each one of us brought a different level of craftmanship and energy that made everything coherent without necessarily taking away our individuality.”

Yung Bawal, who was responsible for helming the beat, revealed that the collaboration was born organically. “I first worked with Nateman on a remix earlier this year and loved the energy. He brought Baby Blood into the session, who I only later found out was his younger brother. The track just flowed from there.”

As for his production style for this particular bop, Yung Bawal ensures that he did his homework and talked to the artists about what vibe they feel like making or inspiration they are keen to capture in a creative partnership. “I never have a library of beats for artists, as all my beats are made specifically for who I'm working with; hence, all of my releases sound different from each other depending on whom I'm working with.”

The release of “PUSO AT ISIP” will be accompanied by a music video that felt cinematic in scope. As Yung Bawal describes it, the director made telenovela-like material, complete with a riveting plot. Nateman even joked around about how it made them feel like lead stars of their own drama shows. “Ang guwapo-guwapo namin dun (we look good),” he laughs. The MV also stars Filipina social media personality Christine Samson.

“PUSO AT ISIP” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch the music video release via Nateman’s official YouTube page.

UK Pop/R&B Sensation MORGAN Drops Fiery Double Release "One Man" Featuring Beenie Man & "Bad Gyal Energy"

September 29, 2025

LISTEN HERE

Pop/R&B powerhouse Morgan is turning up the heat with the release of a fiery double release, out now via Red Bull Records. The two singles mark a powerful new chapter for the rising star, led by the hard-hitting focus track “One Man” featuring the GRAMMY-award winning Dancehall icon Beenie Man, and paired with the unapologetic anthem “Bad Gyal Energy”. Fans can stream the songs here.

A sizzling first-ever collaboration with one of dancehall’s most iconic figures, “One Man” fuses Morgan’s magnetic delivery with Beenie Man’s unmistakable fire, built around a fresh take on his unforgettable 2004 hit “Dude”. Rooted in Morgan’s half-Jamaican heritage - a driving force throughout her artistry - the track exemplifies her fearless approach to pushing boundaries, seamlessly blending her cultural influences with pop and R&B elements. Accompanied by an official music video shot in Jamaica with Beenie Man, the release is a bold statement of identity and evolution.

On the making of “One Man”, Morgan shares: “"One Man" is one of those songs that just makes me feel free. It's inspired by my Jamaican heritage, but it doesn't tie itself to one lane or genre. It just feels like a pure Morgan song - what I create doesn't have to fit into any boxes - it represents me and my culture. We had so much fun making this one in the studio, sampling one of the most iconic reggae songs, to then have the artist of that iconic song wanting to jump on my take on it. You can't get more legendary than Beenie Man. It's a pinch me moment and I'm gassed for you all to hear it. Summer might be coming to an end now, but let's keep the vibe going for as long as we can”.

MORGAN - “One Man” ft. Beenie Man (Official Video)

Also included in the release is “Bad Gyal Energy”, an empowering record that brings a dynamic balance of heat and attitude with fierce dancefloor energy.

“"Bad Gyal Energy" is slightly different from what I usually create. It's a nod to the underground Jamaican dancehall scene – it's one for those that love to dance and rave. My favourite part of making this track is that I got my dad involved. He was an MC, producer and artist back in the day and grew up working on sound systems. He's played a big part in my musical upbringing and I'm obsessed that we could do this together – big up Jeffrey Smith!” Morgan shares.

This latest drop follows an exciting 12 months for Morgan, who  released her first EP via Red Bull Records ‘Emotional Gangster’ last October. In April this year, she returned with
“My My My”, a sun-soaked R&B/pop anthem produced by Blake Straus, Monro and 808Bhav808. A euphoric, summer-ready love song, the track marked the 23-year-old’s first release of 2025 and showcased her signature blend of soulful R&B and vibrant pop, cementing her reputation as one of the UK’s most versatile and exciting artists.

About Morgan

With combined streams of over 100 million, a dedicated online following and her new label home in Red Bull Records, Morgan is doing things her way. Comfortably dominating genres from hype D&B to dancehall-infused tracks, her work showcases the full 360 of her personality – grit, toughness, and vulnerability – with party anthems sitting alongside heartfelt ballads.

Morgan began performing at just three years old, and by 18 she’d joined Rudimental as a globally touring vocalist. Her solo debut "My Year" spotlighted her sparkling brand of pop before a collaboration with Ebenezer (‘Mulholland Drive’) earned her over 10 million streams. Her ‘Alien’ EP leaned into golden-era pop influences, featuring collaborations with Anne-Marie, Cadenza, Dyo, Preditah and Rudimental, while her song
"ADCT" (written at just 17) soared to #1 on both TikTok Trending Sounds and the UK Top 50, racking up 25 million+ streams. She’s since co-written and featured on Rudimental & Digga D’s "Be The One", Sigma’s "Adrenaline Rush", and collaborated with Byron Messia, Purple Disco Machine, and K-pop star Jaehyun of NCT.

Having sold out two London headline shows, including the Jazz Café, and with more global stages now calling, Morgan is unafraid to carve her own path.

Next-Gen Pop Icon Jade LeMac Drops Emotional New Single "Sleeping with the Lights On" Ahead of Highly Anticipated EP 'It's Always At Night'

September 29, 2025

"With so much ground covered in such a short time, Jade LeMac is undeniably one to watch. Her unfiltered, organic, and effortlessly relatable style makes her a compelling Gen Z voice. LeMac is an artist who steps off the pedestal and sings straight into the hearts of those willing to listen."
— FAULT

"Up and coming pop star Jade LeMac is changing the face of music."
— GLAAD

"LeMac's talent is beyond her years, but her greatest strength is perhaps the ability to be both badass and vulnerable, sometimes within the same song."
— POPDUST

Following the release of her infectious summer single, "Running Home", Vietnamese-Canadian pop singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jade LeMac has released her heartfelt track, "Sleeping with the Lights On". This marks the third track from Jade's highly anticipated EP, 'It's Always At Night', due November 7th via Warner Music Canada / East West Records. Fans can stream the song HERE and pre-order the EP HERE.

A tender, emotionally raw track, "Sleeping with the Lights On" sees Jade LeMac at her most vulnerable. "How the hell are you so fine, while I’m out here losing my mind?" she belts, as she opens up about the raw aftermath of heartbreak. Jade has been giving fans an early taste of the song while on tour, and most recently featured it in her powerful
Audiotree live session — a set that also includes "Constellations", "Running Home", and an interview.

""Sleeping with the Lights On" is another one of my favorites. This one is definitely a vulnerable song, a heartbreak song. This also was the first song where I really discovered my sound when it comes to writing on guitar."

— Jade LeMac

Jade's impassioned storytelling has set her apart since her career beginnings, and 'It's Always At Night' adds new chapters. The forthcoming EP is built on the artist's guitar, whose poetic riffs—with the help of longtime production partner JVP (Mother Mother, Simple Plan)—were amplified to bring a bigger pop sound to the new music. One of the EP's most endearing treasures is the vocal choir woven throughout, made up of Jade's friends and family. Their presence is a reflection of the artist's humanity, as she proudly takes her loved ones along her career's joyride.

In the EP, Jade dives into themes of being in love and finding yourself through it all, opening herself to listeners and empowering herself through her vulnerability. Explaining, Jade says, "'It's Always At Night' is a story about a person who's in love with love. There are songs for so many emotions—heartbreak, desire, love, and lust. Each song is its own story about the different ways I've felt while being in love with someone."

Earlier this year, Jade LeMac hit major milestones with festival performances at both Osheaga and Lollapalooza — even joining ROLE MODEL onstage at his Lollapalooza afterparty. Over the past month, the rising singer-songwriter joined GRAMMY® Award-winning powerhouse Maren Morris as the opener on her Dreamsicle tour. Adding to the momentum, Jade also announced her first Canadian headline tour, further solidifying her place on the radar as one of today's most promising emerging voices.

A rapidly rising star who has received praise from the likes of LA Weekly, OnesToWatch, Rolling Stone and Wonderland Magazine to name a few, Jade was also recognised by GLAAD – the non-profit LGBTQ advocacy – with a nomination for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist — a testament to her growing influence and impact. With over 450 million global streams and more than 1.6 million followers on TikTok — her largest platform for fan engagement — Jade's reach continues to expand worldwide. Her strongest audience base on the platform is in Southeast Asia, with the Philippines ranking #1, followed by Thailand (#3), Indonesia (#6), and Vietnam (#8). By unapologetically embracing her identity as a Queer Vietnamese Canadian, Jade has built a loyal, ever-growing global fanbase — and is boldly redefining what modern pop stardom looks and sounds like.

Doja Cat releases her highly fifth studio album, Vie

September 26, 2025

“Gorgeous” music video out now!

[Los Angeles, CA – September 26, 2025] GRAMMY award-winning global superstar Doja Cat releases her fifth studio album, Vie out now via Kemosabe Records/ RCA Records.

Doja Cat also unveils the music video for her new track, “Gorgeous.” The music video was directed and shot in New York City by Bardia Zeinali (Justin Bieber / Sabrina Carpenter) and including appearances by Yseult, Paloma Elsesser, Alex Consani, Irina Shayk, Amelia Gray, Ugbad, Ida Heiner, Mona Tougaard, Alek Wek, Karen Elson, Sora Choi, Imaan Hammam, amongst others.

On the release, Doja Cat states, “The French word “Vie” (translated in English: “life”) was a choice of wordplay by me starting with the simple fact that this is my 5th album. I wanted to stretch this from the roman numeral “five” tattoo on my collarbone. Five in numerology represents curiosity, adventure, and change. I chose Vie as a nod to La Vie en Rose and tied it together with the theme of romance and throughout this project I give my interpretation on love, sex, romance, pain, and wonder within a relationship. These songs can be pertained to the relationship with yourself or others. I feel strongly about the meaning of the word Vie because without life there is no love and without love there is no adventure. This is an adventurous album and with homages and nods to the 80’s, 70’s, and 90’s, I wanted to give my own personal modern twist.”

Earlier this week Doja Cat was profiled on CBS Sunday Morning. On October 1st, Doja Cat will co-host NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Just days later, she’ll make her musical debut on NBC’s Saturday Night Live for the Season 51 premiere, airing Saturday, October 4th.

Additionally, Doja Cat reunites with Amazon Music to drop a striking new merch collection inspired by her new album, Vie. The '80s-influenced line features standout pieces like t-shirts, hoodies, a signature beret, rose-shaped compact mirror, silk scarf, and an Amazon-exclusive clear Vie vinyl with alternate cover art. The collection will beavailable today at Amazon.com/dojacat, in the Amazon Music app, and at dojacat.com, powered by Amazon Anywhere. Prime members get fast, free shipping across all channels.

Earlier this month, Doja Cat performed “Jealous Type” at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards featuring legendary saxophonist Kenny G. Last month, Doja Cat released her single and music video for “Jealous Type.”

September 26th, 2025 — Breakout Chinese-Canadian alternative indie-pop singer-songwriter yung kai unveils his highly anticipated debut album, 'stay with the ocean, i'll find you', out today via Flood Division/BMG. Rooted in themes of longing and emotional escapism, and wrapped in dreamy soundscapes, the album marks a bold arrival for one of the scene’s most compelling new voices. Fans can stream the album HERE.

"This album is centred around the idea of yearning for someone or something, and the idea of "Even if it doesn't work, I'll just imagine that it does"," yung kai says.

The full-length album features eleven tracks that provide listeners with stories of yearning, self-discovery, and the complexities of love. It's a sonically cinematic album that paints portraits through his soothing harmonisations and lyrical artistry that carries the stories along. Leading the album is the focus track, "how do you dance?" — a lighthearted yet tender reflection on connection and vulnerability. "Honestly, I’m very bad at dancing and I thought that it would be cute if a girl taught me how to dance," he says when explaining the song.

Ahead of the album release, yung kai announced his first-ever headlining world tour, 'flowers, moon and stars', which sold out entirely during presale. September 26th, 2025 - Fresh off a world tour supporting Ed Sheeran, Myles Smith unveils his brand-new single, an upbeat anthem, "Stay (If You Wanna Dance)".

This latest release marks another milestone in what has been a breakthrough year for Myles Smith, establishing him as one of the most exciting new voices in British music. The track arrives with huge anticipation, following a teaser campaign - boosted by global superstars Ed Sheeran and Alex Warren - in which Myles shared a clip of the song and revealed that he had written it just two days earlier, after performing in Copenhagen.

“This song is about escaping the cycle that makes life feel smaller than it really is. At its heart, it’s about connection, freedom, and choosing to live for now” - Myles says of the single.

Marking another bold step in his artistry, “Stay (If You Wanna Dance)” cements Myles Smith’s standing as a rising force in the British music scene, setting the stage for an exciting season to come - with his highly anticipated debut album also on the horizon.

This year to date, Myles has played to over100,000 people across his own sold-out headline shows in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America, including a packed-outGlastonbury performance. In May, Myles won the the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Most Performed Work and just this week he was confirmed as the main support for Ed Sheeran’s US tour in Summer 2026.

2024 was also a landmark year for Myles. From winning the BRITs’ Rising Star award to being named BBC Introducing Artist of the Year and landing a spot on the BBC Sound of 2025longlist, his rise has been nothing short of meteoric. His breakthrough single, “Stargazing,”became the biggest global hit of the year by a UK artist, spending 29 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and fast-approaching 1 billion global Spotify streams. Projected to hit 3 billion streams across his catalogue before October this year, “Stargazing” has cemented itself as a modern classic, topping airplay charts across the US, UK, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium and Switzerland.

His moment at the 2025 BRIT Awards also made headlines for more than just the award and his stand-out performance, his powerful acceptance speech called on the government to do more to support the arts and ensure future generations have access to creative opportunities, echoing the very message of resilience and advocacy found in his music.

Myles’ story begins in Luton, where he learned guitar and piano by age 12 and honed his craft playing pubs and open-mic nights. As his music began to connect with audiences online, heartfelt covers like “Sweater Weather” and “I Found” paved the way for original songs including “Solo” and “My Home” which ultimately led to his 2023 signing with Sony’s RCA label.

Myles Smith’s ability to connect through heartfelt storytelling and melodic sincerity has made him one of the UK’s most compelling new voices and his trajectory shows no signs of slowing down.

The Bloomfields channel cut-out psychedelia in “Pink Skies” music video

September 26, 2025

Inspired by Filipino collage artists, the trippy video embraces imperfection as a mark of authenticity

Manila, Philippines – The Bloomfields are set to release the official music video for their latest single “Pink Skies.”

Helmed by the band’s bassist Louie Poco, who both directed and edited the project, the video takes the form of a surreal animated collage, unfolding in a kaleidoscope of psychedelic imagery, band performances, and pop-art influences.

[PRESS KIT AND PRESS PHOTOS HERE]

For Poco, the project was more than just a technical experiment; it was a true work of heart and passion. “It was my first time experimenting with green screen and animated collage,” he shares. “No AI involved, just countless hours of hands-on editing and flexing creative muscles.”

Drawing inspiration from Filipino collage artists Andrea Cervantes and Charlie Salazar, Poco channeled their cut-out aesthetic to craft a piece that mirrors the band’s sonic DNA: vintage-tinged, psychedelic, and deeply human.

“Its imperfections are exactly what make it beautiful and trippy,” explains Louie. “It’s not about polished perfection, but about joy, creativity, and the spirit of something crafted with love.”

Sonically, “Pink Skies” brims with Britpop influences and indie rock sensibilities. Equal parts dreamy escape and radiant anthem, the track feels like an endless summer: a shimmering fantasy, a break from reality, and a wish for light to cut through the storm.

“Pink Skies” was released earlier this month on all digital music platforms worldwide via Lilystars Records. Watch out for the premiere of the music video this Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:30 PM.

With soft, folk-inspired vocals and bare acoustic textures, “Wild Guess” gently captures the slow unraveling of a relationship and the quiet ache of not fully understanding why it ended. “I’m not so sure / but I’m taking a wild guess / you’re slipping away from me,” Ruel sings with acceptance. The track unfolds patiently, mirroring the emotional distance between two people, before arriving at the bittersweet realization in the chorus: “It’s been a wild ride, but I won’t be your baby anymore,” embracing the cold truth that sometimes the best things have to end.

“Wild Guess” is the third release off Ruel’s forthcoming record and follows the bluesy “The Suburbs” and lead single “I Can Die Now.” Kicking My Feet marks the start of a new era for Ruel; one that feels creatively liberated, emotionally nuanced, and sonically bolder than ever. After relocating from Sydney to Los Angeles and signing with Giant Music, Ruel immersed himself in a new creative ecosystem and began building the album from the ground up.

I knew I wanted to push myself on this new album, but it wasn’t until I had to finalise the track list that I realised I’d actually made over 200 songs for Kicking My Feet – Ruel

He worked closely with some of the industry’s most celebrated and genre-shaping producers, including Julian Bunetta(Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction), Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams), Kenny Beats (Dominic Fike, Ed Sheeran), Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift, Chris Stapleton), and longtime collaborator M-Phazes (Eminem, Kehlani, Ruel’s debut album). Together, they crafted a record that is sonically adventurous and deeply personal, blending pop, alt and R&B, into a cohesive, modern sound. The result is a genre-blurring, emotionally relatable album that reflects Ruel’s evolution as both a person and an artist.

YABANG PINOY celebrates 20 years of Pinoy pride with events, partnerships, and a renewed call to ‘Live Proudly’

September 25, 2025

Yabang Pinoy, the pioneering movement that has championed Filipino pride and identity for the last two decades, celebrates its 20th anniversary with a powerful lineup of events, meaningful collaborations, and a renewed call for Filipinos to “Live Proudly.”

Founded in 2005 by young, passionate advocates, Yabang Pinoy has stood at the forefront of a consumer revolution anchored on the belief that national pride starts with everyday choices: sa isip, sa salita, at sa gawa (in thoughts, in words, and in deeds). From mounting iconic bazaars that have uplifted local entrepreneurs to cultivating programs that shape youth leadership and artistic expression, the movement has created platforms where Filipino talent, ingenuity, and creativity truly shine.

Looking back at the two decades of Yabang Pinoy, Head of Projects & Partnerships JM Jose considers meeting their collaborators and partners as some of their biggest accomplishments so far. He explains, “Our greatest accomplishment is the leaders, advocates, and volunteers we have met & worked with along the way—individuals who found their passion and success with the help of YP’s training and experiences. They continue to embody and champion the ‘Filipino First’ mindset, which is the very heart of our movement.”

Spotlight on advocates of Filipino creativity

At its 20th anniversary press conference, Yabang Pinoy also unveiled a special panel entitled “Filipino Brands in Focus,” which gathered trailblazing entrepreneurs who embody the essence of Filipino pride and innovation. Among the inspiring voices was Ann Poco, co-founder of local lifestyle brand, Gouache.

What began with one made-to-order camera bag has since become a social enterprise with a purpose. A Management Information Systems graduate turned lifestyle visionary, Ann’s serendipitous encounter with Marikina’s artisans led to the birth of Gouache—a proudly Filipino brand crafting functional and stylish camera bags, backpacks, and lifestyle carriers.

In celebration of Yabang Pinoy’s 20th year, Gouache and Yabang Pinoy are joining forces to launch a special collaboration line of bags, with a portion of proceeds dedicated to planting 100,000 Bitaog hardwood trees along the Bacnotan Riverway in La Union. These trees, known to naturally shield communities against flooding and coastal erosion, underscore the collaboration’s greater purpose: sustainability and nation-building.

Another panelist featured in “Filipino Brands in Focus” is Ali Sangalang, a true creative force and one of the country’s most inspiring storytellers. A proud Filipino honors graduate who once served as a speechwriter for the late President Noynoy Aquino, Ali’s journey then took a bold turn into entrepreneurship, where he poured his wit, humor, and love for Filipino culture into Linya-Linya, the now-iconic 10-year-old brand of clever shirts and everyday essentials that celebrate our quirks and stories. But Ali’s creativity doesn’t stop there. He is also one of the minds behind Big Fuzz and Puddy Rock Studio—ventures that continue to showcase his passion for music, design, and building communities through creativity.

As part of Yabang Pinoy’s 20th year, Linya-Linya partners with the Filipino pride entity through its Live Proud shorts—a collection that proudly embodies Filipino identity and everyday pride. Today, Ali stands as an example of how Filipinos can live proudly by embracing their roots, telling stories, and turning ideas into movements.

Two Decades of Milestones

Yabang Pinoy continues to stand proud and keeps the advocacy alive, which is to make nation-building a daily habit and lifestyle. Its lifelong mission is to continue to spark the national pride in every single Filipino. Since its founding in 2005, Yabang Pinoy has produced several acclaimed flagship programs, including Global Pinoy Bazaar—a premier showcase of quality Filipino products that creates a bridge between entrepreneurs and consumers, expanding from modest gatherings to major curated events.

According to Yabang Pinoy Director Patrick Joson, Global Pinoy Bazaar started as a small community event showcasing Filipino entrepreneurs and their Philippine-made products in modest venues. “Over the years, it grew into a much larger community gathering in bigger locations, featuring more diverse and carefully curated brands and continuing to champion consumer revolution,” he shares. “It created a space where entrepreneurs and consumers can connect through shared pride in quality Filipino products and services.”

Other notable flagship programs include Philippine Cinema Sessions, which provide a platform for filmmakers, actors, and creatives to initiate dialogue on the state and future of Philippine cinema; Y.A.B.A.N.G Camp, a youth leadership program training young Filipinos to advocate for “Filipino First” values in their chosen field; and 7107, an exploration program designed to rediscover hidden Philippine destinations while supporting grassroots livelihoods.

For the last quarter of 2025, Yabang Pinoy announces its roster of events that provide invaluable support for homegrown brands, entrepreneurs, artists and communities. Celebrate the season by making every gift and purchase a reflection of one’s pride and identity.

J-pop superstar Kenshi Yonezu teams up with global icon Hikaru Utada for “Jane Doe”

September 24, 2025

New track is the official ending theme of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc

Chart-topping J-pop superstar KENSHI YONEZU teams up with global icon HIKARU UTADA for a new collaborative track “JANE DOE,” the ending theme to the hugely anticipated CHAINSAW MAN – THE MOVIE: REZE ARC. “JANE DOE” marks the first collaboration between the two iconic Japanese artists and was written and composed by Yonezu with Utada joining in on vocals. Also making its debut today is the track’s official music video directed by Tomokazu Yamada and featuring both artists. Today’s news follows a massive couple of weeks for Yonezu, who recently released the theme to the CHAINSAW MAN – THE MOVIE: REZE ARC “IRIS OUT,” debuted on Spotify's Top Songs Debut Global Chart at #2, and made history as his CHAINSAW MAN TV anime series theme “KICK BACK” became the first-ever Japanese language song to reach RIAA-Platinum certification.

The “JANE DOE” music video features the two artists, dressed entirely in black, sitting apart on benches on a train station platform. It depicts a station platform where passengers heading in different directions briefly cross paths only during boarding and getting off. While waiting for the next train, two passengers who happen to sit on the same bench exert a light gravitational pull on each other, like invisible, large circles. Directed by Tomokazu Yamada, known for music videos including Kenshi Yonezu's “Lemon,” “Uma to Shika,” and “Sayonara, Mata Itsuka! – Sayonara.” Hikaru Utada’s “Mine or Yours,” “A Flower of No Color,” and “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-,” as well as directing last year’s “SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024.”

Of the track, KENSHI YONEZU says, “I started working on the song without giving too much thought to who would sing it. However, as the song began to take shape, it became evident that no one was better suited to it than Utada-san, so I reached out to them. The moment Utada-san’s voice—melancholic, yet sweeping like a gust of wind—came in over the track, I remember being so moved that I let out a sharp gasp. As a songwriter, I feel truly honored to have been given this opportunity.”

HIKARU UTADA adds, “I knew I had to give it a go when I received this offer. Both of us being uncompromising singer-songwriters, we knew better than anybody else where the other comes from, but also faced the challenge of meeting halfway where our styles, as we found in the process, contrast. I hope everyone can feel the new sides that were brought out in us, as we remained true to ourselves and each other.”

Music video director TOMOKAZU YAMADA says, “We spin endlessly in the darkness of the universe, exerting light gravitational pull upon one another. Even when we are close enough to touch, we are all distant stars. Each with its own rotation, each gazing upon its own night. This is truly a collision of galaxies. A moment that is like an eternity, in a place that is neither light nor darkness.”

“IRIS OUT” is already setting another record on the Spotify Japan Daily Chart, achieving the “highest daily play count ever recorded” for six days in a row. “IRIS OUT” debuted on Spotify's Top Songs Debut Global Chart at #2, is also currently at #3 on Apple Music's Global Daily Top 100 chart. The music video for “IRIS OUT” was also released on September 15 and has already surpassed 10 million views on YouTube, generating significant buzz as earning #4 on the Global YouTube Daily Music Videos Charts. Available to watch now.

NU volleyball coach Kenan launches music career with first single “Sabi Mo”

September 24, 2025

The new recording artist teams up with 6cyclemind’s Rye Sarmiento and Gracenote’s Jazz Jorge for a track reminiscent of ‘90s and early 2000s alternative rock

Filipino newcomer Kenan marks his debut as a recording artist with the release of “Sabi Mo” under Sony Music Entertainment.

Best known today as a professional volleyball trainer and coach at the National University (NU), Kenan’s deep love for music eventually opened the door to a career he once thought was out of reach.

His first official single, “Sabi Mo,” captures the struggles of moving on after promises of forever are broken. Drawing from his own past experiences with heartbreak, Kenan poured his emotion into the track. He reveals. “I was lost in the moment because it brought back memories, both good andbad. That experience gave me the courage to deliver the song with honesty and vulnerability, while still making it my own.”

Produced by Rye Sarmiento (6cyclemind), the song transforms frustration into catharsis, delivering a powerful sing-along that feels like both a nostalgic and refreshing material. Originally written as an acoustic piece, “Sabi Mo” grew into something unexpectedly bigger during pre-production, evolving with a fuller arrangement inspired by the sound of ‘90s and early 2000s pop-rock.

“We wanted to veer away from the current mold of heartbreak songs with mellow and stripped-down tendencies,” Kenan shares. “For Sabi Mo, we went for a raunchier, more rock-out sound. There’s more oomph and spunk to it, but without losing the emotional sentiment of the lyrics. Balance is somehow the key.”

Adding to the track’s dynamic energy are Jazz Jorge of Gracenote, Jape Bongat, and Ernie Bañares of Kiss n’ Tell, who brought their talent and expertise to the recording. The synergy between Kenan and his collaborators was pivotal in shaping the song’s final form.

“During pre-prod, it felt like we were just feeding off each other’s vibe,” Kenan recalls. “Our chemistry is obviously inescapable, but the song naturally took shape—thanks to our individual and collaborative strengths. I’m proud of the outcome.”

Kenan’s “Sabi Mo” is now available on all major streaming platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

About Kenan

Kenan is a Filipino alternative pop artist currently signed under Sony Music Entertainment. Born and raised in Quezon City, the solo newcomer grew up surrounded by music that would eventually shape his sound and artistry. From his father strumming worship songs and Gary Granada tunes on guitar to car rides filled with The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and Paul Simon, his early memories are painted vividly with nostalgic pop and rock songs from the past.

His older brother also introduced him to the ‘90s alt-rock scene, particularly with artists such as  Eraserheads, Rivermaya, The Dawn, Oasis, Green Day, and Foo Fighters blasting off their speakers in their younger years. The wide spectrum of influences continues to echo in his brand of heartfelt, genre-bending music, solidified even further by his love for performing.

As a newly signed recording artist, Kenan describes his sound as light, soothing, and deeply emotional. His work gravitates toward evocative arrangements that highlight the sincerity and raw beauty of his voice.
