Rich Brian announces his forthcoming album WHERE IS MY HEAD? due May 23rd. The announcement is paired with the arrival of his new single “Little Ray Of Light,” the first official offering from the project, alongside a new music video. His first official release since his 2022 EP Brightside, “Little Ray OfLight” marks a notable sonic shift from the catalog on which Rich Brian has built his career. “I really wanted to go outside of my comfort zone and write over something that I would never normally sing to,” James explains. “Malik 95 and Mosaic cooked up this weird and wonderful guitar loop, and I had this concept for ages about writing about a passionate night with someone that was so emphatic, that it could be heard from the Lobby downstairs. Chloe Angelides and I wrote the rest of the song so quickly - it flowed out of us so effortlessly, which in my eyes is usually a sign of a great song.”

About James Vickery

James Vickery is ready to bare his soul to the world. His journey has been anything but ordinary—one marked by resilience, self-discovery, and an unwavering passion for music.

“Something I realised a while ago was that a lot of people didn’t necessarily understand where the music comes from,” the South London artist says. “I had a story that I was always a little bit ashamed of, which is sad in a way, but there was never much representation for people with my condition in the music industry.”

Vickery is completely deaf in one ear. At eight years old, he was diagnosed with a non-cancerous growth of skin cells called a cholesteatoma, which was in his ear and growing toward his brain. Without surgery, he might have died within two months. The operation saved his life, and a vocal coach brought in to help him with his speech soon discovered his astonishing singing abilities.

He opened up about his journey in the moving 2021 documentary, 'Louder', which also explored his fascinating heritage. Born to a Welsh father and South African mother, Vickery, who is white-passing, has occasionally struggled with misconceptions from strangers.

“I think my whole career, I was really trying to be accepted by different communities while being afraid that they would reject me,” he says. “I would make music to try and impress people without realising it.” Somewhere along the road, though, he found an inner peace—one that allowed him to fully embrace himself and his artistry.

Vickery has a back catalogue most artists twice his age would envy. There’s the famous 
COLORS SHOW, which to date has racked up close to 40 million views and (Vickery’s fans tell him) soundtracked the conception of at least a dozen babies. His debut album, 'Songs That Make Me Feel' – featuring collaborations with R&B legend Musiq Soulchild and Atlanta hip-hop duo EARTHGANG – saw him hailed as the new face of UK R&B.

“I don’t want to be a sad story,” he says. “I’m very proud of going through what I have and coming out the other side.” His journey is a testament to resilience, and his music reflects that euphoria—an artist fully stepping into his own, without fear or hesitation.

GNN marks its tenth-year anniversary of producing shows and concerts with a one-day music event top-billed by Pamungkasfrom Indonesia and Scrubb from Thailand.

 

#GNN10 Presents: Pamungkas and Scrubb Live in Manilawill take place on April 26, 2025, at 123 Block in Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City. The exclusive, co-headline show is a Philippine-only engagement and will form a key part of #GNN10, a year-long music campaign. Waiian plans to accompany the release of the album with visuals featuring renowned collaborators and friends. The music video for “LODS NA BAHALA,” in particular, will have its own treatment, complete with archival imagery and locations from his formative years, including excerpts from the short films he made as a student and places he used to hang out at. “It’s about remembering my roots as a creative. Acclaimed singer-songwriter Clara Benin, prolific post-rock artist GABBA, and seasoned musician Kakoy Legaspi will be joining Johnoy Danao’s highly anticipated first solo concert Liwayway at Dapithapon, happening on March 14 to 15, 2025, at the Metropolitan Theater (MET) in Manila.

 

Both Benin and GABBA are announced to perform on the first day of the concert, while Kakoy Legaspi will reunite with Danao on day 2.

 

“All guests are handpicked by Johnoy Danao,” minsan studiohead Jason Conanan reveals. “Each of them has played a crucial part in his music journey, both as collaborators and real-life friends.”

 

Marking a milestone in his 25-year-career as part of bluesy folk band Bridge and an accomplished singer-songwriter, the two-day concert celebrates his work and career in a live setting, complete with an intricate setup and a 15-piece orchestra conducted by Ria Villena-Osorio. The concert also follows Danao’s series of sold-out cafe shows, which took place in several intimate venues across the Philippines.

 

Conanan also introduced a special promo specifically for students who have been supportive fans of Johnoy Danao’s music. “minsan studio believes that everyone, especially young people, are the key to long-term careers of the artists,” the concert producer shares. “They are the most active fans. Most of the time they have limited financial capacity to do so, that’s why we came up with an initiative to show appreciation for their efforts.”

 

Conanan adds, “We started out with pay-what-you-can gigs and we find that people value these experiences differently. A student’s PHP 100 may be their savings for the day while to an adult, that’s just another coffee.  This is our way of helping bridge that gap.”

Following the success of his previously released hit “Nahuhulog Na Sa’Yo,” which has amassed nearly 40 million streams since its 2022 release, Alejandre takes a more introspective approach with his latest track “Mga Kaibigan.”

March 07, 2025 (Manila, Philippines) — Indie alternative band SOS reflects on endings in their new single, “Yumi & The Apocalypse,” the carrier single of their forthcoming sophomore album, It Was A Moment, out on March 28th.

 

Blending old, familiar sounds with new, experimental production, “Yumi & The Apocalypse” hones in on SOS’s strong storytelling, often centered on personal and serving as an avatar of collective experiences, delicately balancing their tendency towards cynicism (or, “a stroke of sadness,” as they describe it) with a more mellowed maturity. While the song is about a breakup, “Yumi” tells it with more grace. As the band puts it, “It’s with less spite and more acceptance.”

 

Originally written with a different chorus by vocalist Roberto Seña, the band kept the older production and incorporated standout rearrangements by Ram Alonzo (keys) and King Puentespina (drums), who also both work on synths. Kiddo Cosio, the owner of beloved El Union coffee shop and roastery, played on trumpet for the track.

 

While “Yumi & The Apocalypse” still delivers SOS’ self-described classic “guitars, angsty but melancholic singing,” the end result is brought together by dynamic sources of inspiration and sound palettes from all five members, even if it meant not capitulating to a highly pop-oriented market—but with hopes it will resonate with people, too. “It was rewarding hearing the music come together. It always is… A lot of artists are too concerned to make a pop hit, but sometimes you just want to let some angst out,” they said. “We’re always just trying to amuse ourselves at this point. Never fully concerned if listeners today want this from us. If it lands, it lands. We’re just happy to be in the studio and bring life to whatever stories we have to tell.”

 

The single arrives after the announcement of the five-piece band’s highly anticipated second album, It Was A Moment, following their critically acclaimed 2017 debut LP, Whatever That Was and their first full-length release since the addition of Alonzo in 2023.

The globally acclaimed Hiphop/R&B girl group XG has been appointed as the new brand muse for ANESSA, a suncare brand from Shiseido.

With this announcement, XG will appear in two new commercials for "ANESSA Perfect UV Skincare Gel NA" (The Harmony) and "Anessa Perfect UV Skincare Milk NA" (The Perfect UV), as well as a 60-second brand film titled "Free to Shine". These are launched on February 28th), with TV campaigns set to begin on April 1st.
 
The brand film showcases XG embracing the lightweight, hydrating feel of ANESSA’s sunscreen, enjoying themselves under the sun with confidence and ease. Their track "IS THIS LOVE" has been selected as the ANESSA global campaign song. Originally released in November as part of their second mini-album AWE - which marked their debut entry on the Billboard 200 - the song will also be re-released as a digital single on March 7th.
 
The commercials will feature an exclusive a cappella version of the song alongside a dynamic dance scene, where XG members appear in fresh, sunlit outfits, delivering an energetic performance of "IS THIS LOVE" under the blue sky. (February 28, 2025) – Today, world renowned rapper, singer, dancer, and style icon, LISA releases her highly anticipated first full-length solo album, Alter Ego via LLOUD Co./RCA Records - listen HERE. 

The 15-track album includes her recently released single “Born Again” featuring. Doja Cat and RAYE, which marked LISA’s first release of 2025. The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the #1 most added song at Top 40 radio in the US following release - listen HERE. Alongside the single, the  three global superstars released an official music video directed by Bardia Zeinali (Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae, Kacey Musgraves) which debuted at #1 on YouTube’s Daily Top Music Videos worldwide and #5 in the US - watch HERE. Upon release, Harper’s Bazaar raved “We're only a few weeks into 2025, but suffice to say we’ve already found the girl power anthem that we’ll be playing all year long.”

Along with Doja Cat and Raye, the album includes all new high energy and powerful collaborations with Tyla, Megan Thee Stallion and Future. The album also includes previously released singles, “New Woman” featuring Rosalía, “Moonlit Floor,” and “Rockstar,” the latter of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Global Ex. US Chart and #4 on the Billboard Global 200 Chart. “Rockstar” also earned LISA the coveted MTV VMA award for Best K-Pop and she broke a new record as the first solo act to win in that category multiple times.

On Alter Ego, LISA emulates five characters each representing a unique personality. They are represented by the five points on a star, which has become a key emblem in the campaign. She first teased the characters in her album announcement in November and has begun to reveal more about the characters leading up to the release which garnered much excitement from fans. The five characters were revealed and each has a counterpart song on the album that reflects their own ego; Roxi (“Rockstar”), Sunni (“Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)”), Kiki (“New Woman” feat. Following album release,  LISA will make her OSCARs debut this Sunday, March 2 when she performs as part of a special celebration of cinema at the 97th Annual Academy Awards along with Doja Cat and Raye. 

Earlier this month, LISA made her acting debut in season three of HBO’s The White Lotus and recently appeared on the popular video series “Hot Ones” - watch here. Not slowing down, LISA will return to the desert in April to make her solo debut at Coachella.

The Itchyworms to stage “Good Time Show” concert at Newport Performing Arts Theater

Manila, Philippines – February 27, 2025 — Get ready for a night fun, music, and unforgettable banters as The Itchywormsstage their highly anticipated concert, Good Time Show to the Newport Performing Arts Theater on March 1, 2025 at 8:00 PM.

 

Presented by Philippine Science High School Batch 2000and AEXPONENT MEDIA PRODUCTIONS, INC., the special concert will benefit the Philippine Science High School community, adding a meaningful cause to event filled with entertainment and camaraderie.

 

The concert’s title is a playful homage to the band’s iconic, generation-defining album, Noontime Show, which won Album of the Year at the 2006 NU Rock Awards and catapulted them to mainstream success. As drummer and lead vocalist Jazz Nicolas puts it, “We wanted a name that captures the fun, the nostalgia, the energy, and the connection we have with our audience. REP restages hit romcom musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change for 2025

The show officially opens REP’s 88th Season at its new home theater in Eastwood

 

 

After a successful run last season, Repertory Philippines (REP)kicked off their 88th Season by bringing back its successful musical comedy from 2024 I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. The show runs until March 9, 2025, at the REP Eastwood Theater in Eastwood City Walk, Quezon City.

 

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, the longest-running off-Broadway show, is a two-act romantic musical comedy set against the backdrop of a bustling metropolis and the ever-present glow of dating apps and social media. With book and lyrics by award-winning Joe DiPietro and music by renowned composer Jimmy Brooks, this classic production was refreshed by the First Lady of Philippine Musical Theater Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo for its restaging in 2024.

 

This fresh take on a timeless tale explores the highs and lows of love in today’s fast-paced world. Played by four actors in twenty vignettes, it covers “everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.” From awkward first dates to courtship, marriage and the complexities of commitment, each vignette captures the essence of contemporary romance, reminding us that amidst the chaos, love and genuine connections still prevail.

 

The original cast of Gian Magdangal, Gabby Padilla, Krystal Kane, and Marvin Ong make their triumphant return to reprise their roles as the 40 characters, and Davy Narciso and Barbara Jance once again join the cast as male and female swings, respectively. Some of the most memorable vignettes include a hopeful I Will Be Loved Tonight before a first date; a passion-filled musing of a man still in love with his wife in Shouldn’t I Be Less I Love With You; a middle-aged woman navigating online dating in The Very First Dating Video of Rose Ritz; and the sweet, blossoming romance between senior citizens in I Can Live With That.

 

Since its staging, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change has been cited as one of highlights of the 2024 theater scene by critics, media, and theater fans. It has also been nominated and cited for 13 Gawad Buhay Awards and 2 Aliw Awards, including Female Lead Performance in a Musical for Krystal Kane and Gabby Padilla; Male Lead Performance in a Musical for Gian Magdangal and Marvin Ong; Outstanding Musical Direction by Ejay Yatco; Outstanding Ensemble Performance for a Musical; Outstanding Stage Direction for a Musical for Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo; and Outstanding Production of Existing Material for a Musical. Gabby Padilla was nominated as Best Lead Actress in a Musical for the Aliw Awards 2024, while the production was nominated for Best Musical Play.

 

The production also boasts of an exceptional team of creatives, including Assistant Director Cara Barredo, Musical Director Ejay Yatco, Choreographer Stephen Viñas, Set and Costume Designer Joey Mendoza, Associate Costume Designer Hershee Tantiado, Lights Designer Meliton Roxas Jr., Sound Designer Aji Manalo, Projection Designer GA Fallarme, Associate Projection Designer Justin Santiago, and Graphic Designer Neo Rivera. They are supported by the adept production team of Technical Director D Cortezano, Assistant Technical Director Ria Querido, Production Manager Patricia Gregorio, Assistant Production Manager Joy Bergancia, Stage Manager Jerome Aytona, and Assistant Stage Manager Maja Desuasido.
