Manila, Philippines – Lyric, the largest musical instrument retail chain in the country, is now the official and exclusive distributor of Casio digital pianos and weighted, portable keyboards in the Philippines.

The partnership between two music equipment titans brings Casio’s world-renowned digital piano innovations—including the Celviano, Privia, and Casiotone series—to Filipino musicians and hobbyists nationwide through Lyric’s 24 retail stores, numerous third-party dealers, and its online platform:www.lyric.ph.

A new era of partnership

The collaboration marks a landmark development for both brands, united by their shared mission to make high-quality musical instruments accessible to all levels of musicians.

“Lyric has always been a fan of Casio for the longest time with their unique products addressing many markets,” said Zorobabel Sayson, General Manager of Lyric. “We were fortunate to be given an audience with the people behind Casio Southeast Asia, particularly Messrs. Yamagishi and Ogawa-san. Lyric’s strength—with 24 of our own retail stores and numerous dealers nationwide—is perfect to distribute Casio, and we are glad that they equally saw the big potential of this partnership.”

With this agreement, Casio’s distribution and representation in the Philippines are now officially under Lyric, ensuring that musicians and potential consumers get to experience Casio’s exceptional quality with comprehensive service, local availability, and technical support.

Casio’s signature sound and innovation

Casio has long been celebrated for its technological excellence and authentic musical experience. The brand’s Celviano Grand Hybrid series, developed in collaboration with legendary piano maker C. Bechstein, bridges the best of acoustic tradition and digital innovation. It offers the touch, tone, and response of a concert grand piano enhanced with cutting-edge sound technology.

Meanwhile Casio’s Privia series redefines performance and portability for professionals and studio musicians, with special features like seamless Bluetooth connectivity and an authentic hammer-action feel in a sleek, lightweight form. For beginners and hobbyists, the Casiotone and CDP series deliver powerful sound, expressive dynamics, and unique functions such as pitch bend wheels and bundled stands, making them ideal choices for learning and performance.

Sayson added, “This is a great deal for us at Lyric as Casio is considered the top brand for digital pianos and keyboards in many countries across the globe. Now is the perfect time to aggressively market Casio in the Philippines, starting with this official launch.”

Shared vision

The partnership reflects a natural alignment between two brands that both value innovation, craftsmanship, and musical empowerment. “Lyric and Casio share the same commitment of creating and providing new value keyboards through innovation,” said Alma Joy Cristobal, President and CEO of Lyric. “Casio’s focus on advanced technology contributes to developing and upgrading musical skills and talents of Filipinos. Our goal is not only to inspire creativity but also to elevate musical expression.”

Alma Joy Cristobal also highlighted Lyric’s mission to support Filipino musicians through accessibility and outreach. “We have always supported Filipino musicians by providing free use of instruments and gadgets during events, especially in areas where such resources are limited. With the Casio Grand Hybrid piano alone, it is now possible to bring the experience of a grand piano anywhere, plus it’s easy to transport for events.”

Casio now available in all Lyric stores and online

Beginning this quarter, Casio’s full range of digital pianos and keyboards will be showcased and available for hands-on experience at all Lyric retail locations nationwide. Customers can check out demo units, attend workshops, and purchase directly in-store or through Lyric’s online platform atwww.lyric.ph.

“Any musicians or music enthusiasts of Casio digital pianos and keyboards can purchase Casio latest models in any of the 24 Lyric stores,” Cristobal noted. “Everyone is welcome to visit any Lyric stores located at various mall and store locations.

Championing Filipino talent

To strengthen its engagement with the music community, Lyric has also begun partnering with prominent Filipino artists to showcase Casio’s versatility across demos, genres, and generations.

Lyric recently signed classically trained pianist and indie folk-pop artist Kai  Honasan as one of its endorsers for the Lyric and Casio collaboration. Cristobal revealed, “We are aligned with the direction of tapping local Filipino artists to showcase Filipino musical talents. More ambassadors coming... young and young at heart.”

Shaping the future of music

Both entities envision this partnership as more than just a formidable business relationship. For what it’s worth, both Casio and Lyric have inspired a movement to push the boundaries of music technology in the Philippines while prioritizing accessibility.

“Casio‘s music business is evolving digital technologies related to sound,” Cristobal concludes. “Together, we envision the future of a more technology-driven keyboard that addresses the needs of the ever-evolving trends and new music generations.”

About Lyric

Lyric is the Philippines’ largest musical instrument retail chain. It was founded in 1964 by Mr. Severo Panganiban as a supplier of parts and accessories to piano manufacturers. In 1968, it evolved into manufacturing its own pianos for the domestic market, and, after a few years, it exported its first set of pianos under its own label. In order to meet the local demand for imported pianos, Lyric acquired the distributorship of Kohler & Campbell pianos. Wurlitzer and Baldwin pianos were also acquired. By 1998, Lyric assumed the exclusive local distributorship of Kawai and Fazioli are its current biggest piano brands.

To support its sales outlets, Lyric has a well-organized service center with trained staff and technicians. They are receiving training in Japan and Germany to fully support and maintain the musical instruments the company offers to the public. It also maintains a spare parts and accessories outlet to supply the instruments it carries with original parts straight from manufacturers.

Although famous for its piano heritage, Lyric has now expanded to become a full-line music store as they offer official distributorship of world-renowned instrument brands such as Peavey amplifiers, PRS guitars, ESP guitars, DW drums, Meinl cymbals, and Mono bags. It also expanded into professional audio with the acquisition of select brands as JBL speakers, Soundcraft mixers; AKG microphones; Severo guitars, and Peavey speakers, to name a few. With 60 years in the business, Lyric has retail branches in the most accessible locations and continues to expand across the country. It has dedicated itself to ensure that Filipino music fans can grow and play the best brands with Lyric.

"'Can We Talk?' is the most personal project I've ever made. It's a collection of late night thoughts and real conversations–things I’ve said, things I wish I'd said, and things I'll probably never say out loud. For me, it's about the messy, beautiful parts of trying to connect with people and how easy it is to get lost in miscommunication."

— elijah woods

elijah describes the album as a reflection of personal and artistic growth. He shares that, in making the album, he "was chasing a sense of sonic maturity—finding comfort in letting songs breathe emotionally while still pulling you in with production that feels big, bold, and alive." "This album feels like finally letting people sit in the room with me while I figure it all out," elijah says — an open invitation into the most honest version of his artistry yet.

The singles leading up to the album's release have already been making waves, securing strong DSP placements and notable radio play across the region. Tracks like
"Could You Love Me?", "Ghost on the Radio", "Slicked Back Hair", and most recently, "I Miss You" have helped shape the emotional tone of the record while showcasing elijah's versatility — from raw ballads to more upbeat, dance-leaning pop moments. Several of these songs have already become fan-favourites on tour, resonating powerfully in live settings with each performance deepening the connection between elijah and his audience while building momentum and anticipation for what many are calling his most defining project to date.

The world falls apart beautifully in Jewel Owusu’s new EP, the end of everything

October 14, 2025

With lush, experimental production and disarmingly honest lyrics, Owusu delivers a compelling mixtape about heartbreak, loss, and identity

Filipino-Ghanian artist Jewel Owusu has released her new mixtape project, the end of everything on all digital music platforms worldwide.

The eight-track EP captures the fragility, resilience, and transformation that come with endings—be it ordinary or life-altering—but experienced through the turbulent lens of youth.

At once poetic and piercing, the end of everything explores what it means to come undone and be rebuilt, weaving existential reflection with sonic experimentation. Owusu’s songwriting unearths the nuanced devastation of loss, heartbreak, and disillusionment, but with hope still clinging behind the trail.

“When you’re young, everything from minor inconveniences to life-shattering moments can feel equally devastating, as if the world is collapsing around you,” shares the Australia-based pop act. “This project captures the journey of coming to terms with an imperfect reality, uncovering the cracks in relationships, worldviews, and expectations that once seemed unshakable.”

The art of endings

Across its eight songs, the end of everything transforms endings into a kaleidoscope of emotion and experience, with each track serving as a mirror for the different ways we lose and rediscover ourselves. From the grief-laden stillness of “this is the end” to the aching surrender of “don’t let me go” and the existential unraveling of “self-importance,” Owusu delivers a collection that feels deeply personal and universally resonant.

Described as the project’s anchor points, “slip away” and “self-importance” reveal a more vulnerable side of Jewel Owusu. “The former captures the sonic and emotional atmosphere I wanted for the EP,” she says. “It conveys isolation and the feeling of being out of place while growing up. The latter, on the other hand, reflects on how humans create meaning to cope with existence and death, and how those beliefs can sometimes lead to a heightened sense of ego.”

The recurring motif of the mouse threads through the project’s conceptual heart,  a metaphor for fragility and endurance amidst chaos. In Owusu’s world, the mouse represents tact and survival, a symbol of power within powerlessness. It embodies the emotional landscape of the record: the tension between fear and resilience, control and surrender.

A sonic evolution

Produced alongside a cohort of talented collaborators, including HAMLEY, Dylan Guy, Aria Wood, Dugong, and Jarrod Jeremiah, the EP marks a remarkable pivot for Owusu in terms of songwriting and sound. Known for her genre-blending approach and tender storytelling, she expands her sound on the eight-track mixtape through textured production, layered vocal effects, and experimental arrangements, all while retaining her pop appeal.

“This project is definitely an evolution of my sound. I experimented a lot with vocal production, pushing my voice in new ways,” Owusu reflects. “My collaborators and I played around with different types of distortion and layered a lot of FX into the backing vocals, which is something I had not explored as deeply before. A great example is the final track, ‘cut my hand,’ where so many of the textures were created using my voice.”

Working closely with HAMLEY, who also mixed the entire project, gave the EP a unified, cohesive sound while preserving its emotional volatility. The result is a collection of songs the feels cinematic yet intimate, built from a palette of melancholic synths, subtle percussions, and affecting vocal performances that oscillate between fragility and defiance.

Following the shimmering, playful tones of her previous EP, Jool Wave, Owusu now ventures into darker, more introspective territory. “Jool Wave was a lot more experimental and leaned into a cute, bubbly sound,” she shares. “The End of Everything has a grittier sonic soundscape that matches its themes. I feel like I’m growing into an artist who is more honest in their writing—unafraid to say exactly what I think.”

That honesty is what makes the end of everything so arresting. Each track feels like a page torn from a private journal,  confessional set to soundscapes that shimmer between melancholy and transcendence. Whether reflecting on the end of belief, love, ego, or belonging, Owusu reveals the moment when endings give birth to renewal—the realization that even in the ruins, something soft remains.

“I hope that listeners feel a sense of hope on the other side of whatever they’re going through,” she says. “Even the darkest moments will eventually pass.”

Joony Turns Up The Heat on Slick New Single "PIMPIN'" Featuring Isaiah Falls and Larry June

October 13, 2025

LISTEN HERE

October 13th, 2025 – Triple-threat rapper, songwriter, and producer Joony joins forces with Larry June and rising R&B star Isaiah Falls for their effortlessly smooth new single, “PIMPIN'”, out now on Red Bull Records/EVGLE/211. Fans can stream the song here and watch the music video here.

The track is a masterclass in genre-blending: laid-back production, slick lyricism, and soul connect to create a slow-burner that feels tailor-made for late night drives. Led by a buttery hook from Isaiah Falls and strengthened by ultra player verses from Joony and Larry June, “PIMPIN'” sees all three artists delivering peak performances. While the track still taps into familiar hip-hop themes, each voice brings a fresh perspective, making this an instant add for any playlist featuring vibey summer songs or after-hours jams.

Regarding the collaboration, Joony shared, “Since Isaiah's style leans more into R&B, and my music typically has that laid-back, confident vibe, we knew we wanted to create something with a mix of suave, sexy, and cool energy. We both sat down and got to work on it. I let Isaiah do his thing on the hook, and then I came in right after with that same swagger. A few months later, I sent the track to Larry June, and he vibed with it right away. He sent the record back to me almost immediately, and that was that—everything fell into place. The lyrics, while a bit bold, were meant to carry assertiveness with a hint of humor and wit. We wanted it to feel playful yet confident”.

Joony - "PIMPIN'" (feat. Isaiah Falls & Larry June) [Official Music Video]

“PIMPIN'” also marks a key moment in Joony’s evolving rollout. While his first two singles of the year – “Dopa(MINE)” and “NO CHILL” – were solo efforts, this latest drop ushers in a collaborative chapter that hints at the direction of his forthcoming album this year. Behind the scenes, Joony’s momentum has only grown, securing credits alongside the likes of Brent Faiyaz, Blxst, Destin Conrad, and Ty Dolla $ign, including a standout co-write on Ty’s recent single “ALL IN”, and a featured contribution to Destin Conrad’s focus track “FMU!” off the 'LOVE ON DIGITAL' LP.

With “PIMPIN'”, Joony levels up once again, proving that he’s not just teasing fans with new material, he’s setting the tone. Stay tuned for more from Joony this year as his name continues to heat up!

About Joony

Joony, aka Jonathan Negero, is a first-generation Ethiopian-American recording artist, songwriter, and entrepreneur who exemplifies what it is to be a multi-faceted creative with art that emits every emotion. Joony uses his haunting vocal range to share truthful stories about love, fashion, and making it in music without much guidance. Having grown up in Silver Spring, Maryland, about 15 minutes outside Washington, D.C., Joony’s hometown pride is strong. His praised album, '#SHITUMSS', was an ode to the native sound that helped set the foundation for his start as an artist. His debut project on Red Bull Records/Evgle/211, 'MEMENTO', was an excellent taste of the eclectic artist’s thinking. Joony’s free-flowing but calculated nature helped create a bevy of introspective lyrics that accurately illustrated the depths of his mind. 'MEMENTO' also proved that Joony is in a class of his own. He does not color inside the lines and allows himself to take risks musically while pushing the boundaries of rap in a way that the game-changing artists he draws inspiration from have done in the past.

Joony rose to recognition for his impeccable consistency and dynamic contribution to Brent Faiyaz’s record-breaking album,
'WASTELAND'. Since securing his first Billboard Top 100 hit with “FYTB”, the stage has been set for the SoundCloud-era-inspired emcee to further carve a lane for himself within music’s ever-changing landscape. His work with rising creatives like Jordan Ward (“IDC”), KELZ (“One Track Minded”), Highway (“Bad Time”), and more has led him to build up over 550K monthly listeners on Spotify. The “Baby Joon” recording artist has performed at various festivals, toured with Lancey Foux, and even completed an international headlining tour.

Furthermore, Joony has received co-signs from multi-platinum acts and A-list stars like BLXST, Kevin Durant, Shy Glizzy, Babyface Ray, and others. The writing is on the wall for his looming superstardom, and
'MEMENTO' is the only thing left to solidify him as a force within music. Joony’s talents and interests are beautifully conveyed throughout the 10-track EP. The project’s first two tracks, “INTRO(Hotel)” and “NEED IT”, quickly set the tone for the sonic adventure that follows. The opener draws listeners into a movie-like scene featuring audio from a stranger interacting with Joony and his crew before quickly leading into the sobering track, “NEED IT”. The passionate song boasts heartfelt lyrics about Joony’s journey to reach the fame and success he knows he’s destined for. The next track, “CLASSY”, featuring Atlanta’s Tony Shhnow, spotlights his ability to go bar for bar with other lyrical titans while still crafting an infectious hook.

Additional joints like “ACT UP” and “EXPENSIVE CLOTHING” bring
'MEMENTO' a more energetic nature. The upbeat production serves as a perfect example of Joony’s dynamic range. His vocal inflection is comparable to Juice WRLD as his voice pierces through the tantalizing production throughout the EP. Drawing inspiration from Lil Wayne, Joony’s soulful auto-tune-infused verses shine through on tracks like “CHEAP”. The project’s outro, “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM” strongly indicates that Joony is here to stay and has limitless potential. Paving the way for the next generation of scene-shapers, Joony will not stop until he’s met his aspirations for love, success, and the desire to have it all.

As the newest artist from Red Bull Records in partnership with Blxst’s Evgle imprint and his own collective 211, Joony is putting underground rappers from the DMV on the map. Not many artists have the range and ability that Joony has cultivated, with tracks like “Dopa(MINE)” driving his quest to create without bounds. Joony’s dedicated fan base anticipates excellence, and he rises to the occasion.

Singer, songwriter and producer, Cavetown (Robin Skinner), is set to release his eagerly anticipated new album ‘Running With Scissors’ on January 16th. He shares new single ‘Tarmac’ alongside details of a major international headline tour for 2026.

‘Tarmac’, co-written with Orla Gartland, follows the rapturously received singles ‘Rainbow Gal’ and  ‘Baby Spoon’, and is indicative of Cavetown’s bold new era. His core indie-pop sound is infused with expansive textures ranging from grunge guitar to sweet swathes of vocal harmonies and unexpected sonics that reflect his love of the unpredictability of hyperpop and the intensity of post-hardcore. Thematically, it extends his raw confessionals into a place in which love is complicated: wanting something to be forever, fearing it’s over, and trying to suppress the negative thoughts that flood his consciousness as a result.

Cavetown recently joined Pierce The Veil as a special guest on their run of European arena dates. During the London stop at the OVO Arena Wembley, their vocalist Vic Fuentes joined him on stage for a very special performance of ‘a kind thing to do’, their collaboration from Cavetown’s 2022 album ‘worm food’.

The forthcoming album, ‘Running With Scissors’sees Cavetown present a sweeping reflection on growth, identity, and the beauty of coming into one’s own. He uses intimate storytelling to explore themes of love, masculinity, vulnerability, and connection, while also turning toward the heavier realities of anxiety, self-doubt, and navigating life as a trans artist. Threaded throughout is a sense of reimagining adulthood, grappling with family, memory, and the process of self-parenting. If his previous music created a sanctuary, this record dares to ask: what happens when you step outside of that room and look yourself squarely in the eye?

‘Running With Scissors’ is available to pre-order HERE. Limited edition physical formats include a black-and-blue cornetto vinyl packaged with a ‘Baby Spoon’ flexidisc, which is available from his official store, while Rough Trade offer a blue-and-black splatter vinyl.

This new chapter in the Cavetown journey will extend a story which has taken him from roots as a bedroom pop musician in Cambridge to becoming an internationally beloved artist - in the process exceeding 2 billion streams, six RIAA Platinum-certified tracks, and raising over $650,000 for LGBTQ+ organisations via his This Is Home initiative.

Indie Rock Sensations Good Kid Share New Bittersweet Anthem "Wall"

October 13, 2025

LISTEN HERE

AMASSED OVER 700 MILLION STREAMS ACROSS CATALOGUE

October 13th, 2025 – Philippines – Out now, Toronto indie rockers Good Kid return with their new single “Wall", a bittersweet, high-energy anthem about the unexpected gut-punch of running into the ex that almost became “the one.” Written with their signature mix of hook-driven riffs and clever lyricism, “Wall” captures the awkward armour we put on to appear unbothered, even as the smallest reminder can send us spiralling into what-ifs.

“'Wall' is a story about running into your ex —the ex,” the band shares. “It’s about putting up walls, pretending you’re fine, even though a simple encounter at a vintage clothing shop can stir up everything you thought you left behind.”

Lyrically raw and musically explosive, “Wall” also marks a new chapter for Good Kid, one that pushes their sound into bolder, grittier territory. Fans will hear the band leaning harder into visceral vocals, chaotic guitar solos, and production choices that feel both unfiltered and unpredictable. “This is the most uninhibited and unfiltered we’ve ever been,” says the band. “We wanted the song to feel alive, even imperfect, because that’s what makes them real.”

In keeping with Good Kid’s innovative spirit, the band turned their latest video into a one-of-a-kind fan experience. Through a contest, one lucky fan was animated into the story, forever immortalized in the Good Kid universe. The final cut is a frenetic, late-night labor of love that blurs the line between band and fandom, cementing Good Kid’s reputation as one of the most creative, community-driven acts today.

Speaking on the new video, the band explains, “Working again with animator
Xray Alpha Charlie, we wanted ‘Wall’ to feel like an anime opening for our universe, a mix of friendship, music, and everyday life in 'Neo-TO', until everything suddenly unravels.

As a band we grew up obsessed with animated series and anime…the way they could make you believe in impossible worlds and the people fighting to protect them. ‘Wall’ is our way of capturing the joy, the stakes, and the magic of the anime we grew up on.”

Good Kid – "Wall" (Official Video)

The single arrives on the heels of a whirlwind few years that have quietly positioned Good Kid as 'the biggest band you’ve never heard of.' With more than 700 million streams across their catalog, a viral breakout single, “From the Start”, which amassed 1M streams in its first 24 hours and now boasts over 150M streams, and 2.6 million monthly Spotify listeners, Good Kid has built an exponential following, all while staying fully independent.

They had seven infectious tracks featured in a MrBeast video (topping 300M views), which earned them two JUNO nominations (including Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2024), and fuelled sold-out tours across North America, the UK, and Europe.

What truly sets Good Kid apart is the community they’ve cultivated. Self-proclaimed 'the world’s most creator-friendly band,' they’ve made their entire discography Content ID-free and DMCA-free, allowing creators across Twitch, YouTube, and beyond to use their music without fear of takedowns. This ethos has turned Good Kid into a cultural fixture of gaming and online creator spaces, with music woven into Riot Games and Epic projects, Valorant tournament broadcasts, and collaborations with influencers across esports, animation, and music.

“As creators ourselves, it felt natural for our music to become super embedded in the content creation space,” says guitarist Jacob Tsafatinos. “We love when creators of any scale use our music—whether it’s a trick-shot video or MrBeast.”

Alongside their digital footprint, Good Kid has grown a global fanbase through relentless touring and an ever-expanding online universe of lore, storytelling, and fan collaboration. The band’s Discord server is a thriving community hub where listeners don’t just consume music, they co-create, role-play, and world build with the band. It’s a rare model of how independent music can scale without sacrificing authenticity.

With “Wall”, Good Kid distills all of that energy—emotional honesty, unfiltered sound, and community spirit—into a song that is as cathartic as it is catchy. It’s a track that reminds us how easy it is to stumble back into old memories, and how sometimes the bravest thing you can do is put up a wall and keep moving forward.

Jolianne and Arthur Nery reconnect in “Palayo Sa Mundo”

October 10, 2025

Following their 2024 collaboration, the pair deliver another heartfelt tune steeped in emotion, chemistry, and grace

Filipino singer-songwriter Jolianne reunites with chart-topping R&B star Arthur Nery on their collaborative single “Palayo Sa Mundo”—released under Sony Music Entertainment. The smooth yet soulful pop track paints a picture of romantic love that is strong enough to make the world wait.

Marking their second collaboration following “Lullaby,” from Arthur Nery’s 2024 album, II: The Second, “Palayo Sa Mundo” finds the two Bisaya artists seamlessly blending their voices in a tender duet that feels both effortlessly captivating and intimate.

“Working with Arthur came so naturally,” Jolianne shares. “For one, we’re both Bisaya, so that was an effortlessconnection. Musically, we also speak the same language. We share a lot of the same influences, and we’re both deeply rooted in R&B.”

Written during a songwriting camp with producer Luke April(James Reid, Playertwo), the song evolved from an English concept titled “The World Can Wait” into an emotionally arresting Tagalog piece that pays homage to classic OPM romance.

“Arthur is a real poet,” the rising newcomer recalls. “And he wrote the song so quickly. It felt like a masterclass watching him in his element.”

Arthur Nery reveals that the song wasn’t intentionally written as a love song at first. “Joli wanted a track about self-reflection or identity crisis,” he shares. “The direction of the song changed after I wrote the first two lines. While Luke let us listen to his guitar sample and production, I wrote and arranged the lyrics freely and we just let the song take us to where it is now. It was a fun experience.”

For what it is, “Palayo Sa Mundo” reflects on the bittersweet nature of love that persists even when fate intervenes.

“This song is about that bittersweet feeling of loving somebody you know loves you too,” Jolianne explains. “But sometimes fate has its own plans, and things don’t turn out as we hope. Still, love in its purest form is worth offering, because love isn’t about guarantees. It’s, I love you because I do, not because I expect it back.”

The track’s stripped-down but warm arrangements highlight the duo’s vocal chemistry while retaining the melodic pop appeal of the material.

Jolianne adds, “We paid homage to ‘Lullaby’ by going the acoustic pop route. We wanted something that felt intimate and timeless. When Arthur and I sing together, it’s never a sing-off; it’s a duet.”

Jolianne and Arthur Nery’s “Palayo Sa Mundo” is out now on all digital music platforms via Sony Music Entertainment.

BELLE DE JOUR AT 20: EVOLVING INTO BIG DREAMS JOURNEY

October 9, 2025

Where small steps turn dreams into a life fully lived.

Manila, Philippines – For twenty years, the Belle de Jour (BDJ) Power Planner has been more than a productivity tool. It’s been a confidante, a mirror of aspirations, and a map for countless dreamers finding their way.

As the iconic brand celebrates its 20th anniversary, BDJ enters an exciting new chapter, expanding beyond its signature planner and unveiling Big Dreams Journey, a reinvention and evolution of what empowerment looks like today.

Big Dreams Journey empowers people to envision, reflect, and take actionable steps toward their dreams, blending structured tools, immersive experiences, and intentional community to help individuals live their fullest potential.

Held on October 8, 2025, at The Astbury in Makati City, the launch marked this milestone evolution: from a beloved planner brand into a purpose-driven movement that continues to inspire a new generation of dreamers.

“We’re expanding what we’ve always stood for,” says Darlyn Ty-Nilo, founder of BDJ. “For 20 years, the planner has been our foundation. Now, we’re building on that legacy by offering more tools, more experiences, and more ways to help people live their dreams.”

This evolution introduces Big Dreams Journey—aDreampowerment System built on three pillars: tools, workshops, and community. It begins with the Vision Board Kit, Dreampowerment Journals, and of course, the Planner, a trifecta designed to help dreamers move from vision to action and from inspiration to real-life transformation.

From its first planner launch to its annual BDJ Fairs, BDJ has become a cultural touchstone for a generation redefining ambition, self-worth, and what it means to live with intention. Over the years, it has grown to include vision boards, guided journals, affirmation decks, workshops, and Dreampowerment challenges, transforming the act of planning into a joyful, creative practice of designing one’s life.

“Every season of BDJ brought us closer to what we were truly meant to be: not just a planner brand, but a movement,” Ty-Nilo shares. “This 20th year marks an expansion and a reaffirmation of our mission to support dreamers in even more powerful ways.”

The 2026 BDJ 20th Edition serves as both a celebration and a springboard. It honors two decades of stories, milestones, and dreams, while introducing the next evolution of BDJ’s Dreampowerment tools for transformation.

Big Dreams Journey will roll out new Dreampowerment experiences, from goal-setting challenges and community Spark Sessions to journaling and visioning workshops—alldesigned to turn reflection into action and dreams into reality.

“Dreams aren’t meant to be pursued alone,” Ty-Nilo adds. “They flourish in the community. That’s what Big Dreams Journey is all about: creating spaces where each person’s growth fuels another’s courage to dream.”

While the iconic planner steps off center stage to share the spotlight, BDJ’s mission continues stronger, wider, and more intentional than ever.

“If the first 20 years were about empowering people to plan their dreams,” Ty-Nilo concludes, “the next phase is about supporting them in truly living their dreams. Our North Star is no longer just putting out a planner year on year; we’re in the business of supporting dreams and taking action and steps towards them. That’s the legacy we want to carry forward.”

Big Dreams Journey represents BDJ’s evolution from product to purpose, a living empowerment ecosystem of tools, experiences, and connections that help everyone design the life they dream of.

TECNO Slim Launches in PH this October 8

October 7, 2025

Beyond-class Ultra-Slim Experience, Trendy Style and Substance

Manila, October 8, 2025 AI-driven innovative technology brand TECNO today officially announced the Philippine launch of the world’s slimmest curved-screen smartphone, the TECNO SPARK Slim, which will retail at the official price of PhP9,499. Defying conventional trade-offs, SPARK Slim combines a massive 5160mAh battery with an ultra-slim profile passing military industry certification to ensure all-around durability.

Carrying forward the youthful, vibrant, and stylish DNA of the SPARK series, its aerospace-grade fiberglass back cover makes the device thinner yet stronger, while the elegant 3D-curved profile and lightweight body ensure a comfortable in-hand feel. The expressive world-first Mood Light design adds an interactive, playful element that resonates with youthful creativity, while vibrant color options further highlight individuality. With this fusion of slimness, style, and substance, SPARK Slim delivers a premium experience that exceeds expectations within its price segment.

Slim Yet Powerful: Redefining the Balance Between Ultra-Thin Design and Lasting Performance

TECNO SPARK Slim debuts as the world’s thinnest curved-screen smartphone at just 5.93mm. This feat is made possible through TECNO’s breakthrough honeycomb space stacking technology, which optimizes 12% of internal space and enables the slimming of eight core components, from the battery and cooling system to the motherboard, while maintaining overall device slim.

Despite its ultra-thin frame, SPARK Slim incorporates a 5160mAh high-density lithium cobalt oxide battery that delivers up to 24.8 hours Day of Use (DOU). It also supports 45W fast charging, 10W reverse charging, and bypass charging technologies. This unique battery solution resists swelling even after prolonged use, proving that slim does not mean weak in endurance.

To ensure sustained performance during heavy usage, SPARK Slim integrates a 0.3mm ultra-thin vapor chamber and a high-conductivity graphite layer with thermal performance of 1800W/m·K, together forming a 24,532mm² cooling system. This enables stable charging and gaming performance while keeping the device cool in such an exceptionally slim body.

Building on this strong foundation of power and thermal stability, SPARK Slim is equipped with the new MediaTek Helio G200 chipset. Designed to balance efficiency with performance, it ensures smooth everyday use and comes with TÜV-certified fluency for up to five years, giving users long-term stability and confidence in their device.

Slim Yet Durable: Reliability backed by Military-Grade Standards

While achieving extreme slimness, TECNO SPARK Slim does not compromise on durability. Its 0.36mm aerospace-grade fiberglass back cover is 0.19mm thinner than conventional materials yet improves strength by 300% and flexibility by 200%.

The screen is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7i, while the entire device is IP64 rated against dust and water, ensuring peace of mind for everyday use.

Slim Yet Stylish: Lighting Up Individual Expression

TECNO SPARK Slim comes in two timeless colorways: Slim White and Cool Black, bringing classic elegance into modern fashion trends. Weighing around 156g and featuring an ultra-narrow frame with graceful curves, the device offers a superb slim grip that feels refined and comfortable in hand.

In addition to its ultra-slim aesthetics, SPARK Slim introduces an interactive Mood Light design on the back, featuring two circular “eyes” that mimic emotions through multi-scene lighting effects. In scenarios such as power on/off, charging, incoming calls, Ella activation, and notifications, the eyes display playful light animations—expressing moods like happy, not happy, or blinking. For Gen Z users, this transforms functional notifications into a unique form of fashionable self-expression, turning the device into both a stylish daily companion and a tool to showcase individuality.

Beyond playful interaction, SPARK Slim also delivers an exceptional viewing experience. Its 1.5K high-resolution curved display offers immersive clarity, reaching 4500 nits peak brightness and supporting a 144Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth responsiveness, ensuring vivid visuals even in bright outdoor conditions.

Elevated Experiences with TECNO AI and Beyond

SPARK Slim integrates TECNO AI, providing real-time translation, document summarization, and AI photo repair, empowering young users in learning, work, and creative output. With the addition of Touch Transfer, users can instantly share images, videos, or files between two TECNO devices with just a tap via NFC, providing seamless connectivity. Further enhancing the experience, the device features Dolby dual stereo speakers and dual system support, delivering enriched entertainment and productivity.

The device also features TECNO’s best-in-class “FreeLink” technology, enabling direct Bluetooth-based messaging and two-way calls even without cellular coverage, which is an essential feature in remote or offline environments.

Powering Up Gaming and Connectivity

TECNO SPARK SLIM has teamed up with the hit local game Honor of Kings (HOK). Powered by the capable MediaTek Helio G200 chipset, TECNO SPARK SLIM empowers the local gaming community, proving that it offers not just a slim profile but also reliable daily gaming performance. Furthermore, TECNO partnered with TM Cellular Service, a brand under Globe Telecom offering mobile services to its customers. TECNO will offer a free TECNO x TM x HOK co-branded SIM card, which includes exclusive free up to 25GB data, and customized data for HOK, enhancing the out-of-the-box gaming experience for users.

Rising Indie Artist Chris LaRocca Welcomes Explorative EP 'dog years'

October 7, 2025

October 6th, 2025 – Rising artist, producer, and awarded songwriter Chris LaRocca has released his EP 'dog years'  on Red Bull Records/Wonderchild. Fans can stream the album here.

The first new single off the EP is the funk-infused “preaching to the choir” – an anthem for overthinkers in love. Punctuated by a thumping indie-folk production, “preaching to the choir” gets real about all the irrational questions you wish you could ask your partner over and over again.

On the single, LaRocca shares: “It’s said that being in a relationship is like looking into a mirror, and that is the concept behind ‘preaching to the choir’. it’s an ode to anxiety and what it must feel like to be intimately close with someone like myself. The lyrics present themselves as a rambling train of thought, highlighting all the quirks in my character that I felt my partner at the time was noticing in me. I wrote this song at a turning point in my life and a moment of self-discovery, and for better or for worse, I truly feel that this song memorializes a past version of myself at a very poignant time in my life”.

Chris LaRocca – "preaching to the choir" (Visualizer)

Chris LaRocca’s deep admiration for 70s era folk and Americana music may come as a surprise when looking at his career as an awarded songwriter and producer. Working with artists like Bryson Tiller, Kali Uchis, and Russ – the world of Americana music feels very far away. Although it lives in a new lane from his previous projects, there is a certainty to the way each song came together. It feels spontaneous but also planned, as if LaRocca had always known he was going to create something like this but hadn’t found the right time or reason. ‘dog years’ is Chris LaRocca’s homage to the sounds of such an iconic era in music history, while still being undeniably his own – affectionately referring to his journey through the genres as “Canadiana” music.

This has been a busy year for Chris LaRocca, releasing five singles leading up to the EP’s release. Starting the year off with
“ladybug” and “laundry day”, followed shortly by “slow dance in the diner”, “normal guy”, and “last pair of boots in town”.

The second new track from ‘dog years’ is the aptly titled “fed up!!”. Listeners hear a more echoed vocal from LaRocca as he lets his guitar lead. It feels regretful and a little bitter, but not truly angry. The title track, “dog years” rounds out the collection of new music arriving with the EP. The song reveals more clearly the message behind the project – time can feel like it’s passing exponentially quickly and painfully slowly at the same time. Growth is not linear, and neither is healing, but there is an assuredness to LaRocca in this track – as if the “dog year” that inspired the EP was not his first.

On the process of creating the EP, LaRocca shares: “I started working on this project on January 1st, 2024, and finished it in November of that year. There was a lot of creative discovery within the boundaries of this project, from collaborators, to sounds, to songwriting style - all reaching new territories that I’ve been wanting to explore for quite some time. It chronicled a calendar year of love and heartbreak, wins and losses, growth and pain in real time - anytime something meaningful happened within that timeframe, I put it into a song”.

As he reflects on the final moments polishing the project, LaRocca continues: “By the end of it all I realized how much can really happen in a year, and how much you can change in that time - especially the older you get, the days go slow and the years go fast. Sometimes, even moreso in a life of creativity, it can really feel like you are living dog years at a time - experiencing the growth of several years in one. I felt as if I were living out this sentiment in my own life, and when listening back to ‘dog years’ start to finish, it felt as if the project named itself”.

This project was built upon a shared appreciation for music that moves people. Chris LaRocca worked with incredible musicians and producers to create ‘dog years’, from Canadian producer Daniel Lanois (Bob Dylan, Neil Young) and Alex “Ace G” Erenwein (Drake, Jack Harlow, Daniel Caesar) to "Dirty" Dave Marcus (Blxst, Rico Nasty, Offset) and Herag Sanbalian (Alessia Cara, Nelly Furtado), and more.

From the year that felt like seven, Chris LaRocca has put together a 360-degree exploration of a brand-new sound. ‘dog years’ showcases his personal relationship with the songwriting styles made famous by Americana and folk musicians, and the layered sonic landscapes from these genres that have always inspired him to dig deeper.

‘dog years’ is pensive, patient; it feels like pain but also like healing. With each single, Chris LaRocca leans into the best and the worst moments with the same attention to detail. The personal growth from this formative “dog year” shines so clearly in this project, as LaRocca continues to evolve.

About Chris LaRocca

In a previous life, Chris LaRocca was a fixture in Toronto’s DIY scene, playing sweaty basements around North America with his post-hardcore band. As that chapter of his sound slowly faded into the rearview, LaRocca transitioned from the stage to the studio, establishing himself as a dynamic producer and sought-after collaborator for top-shelf names like Kali Uchis, Bryson Tiller, Russ, and Stray Kids.

He soon caught the attention of GRAMMY-nominated, JUNO Award-winning producer, WondaGurl, joining her Wonderchild roster in partnership with Red Bull Records. His first full-length, 'i cried my eyes out', featured the song “linger”, which he brought to the screen in a heart-wrenchingly beautiful short film that won a Cannes Lion, among other accolades.

While he’d come a long way from his DIY days, there was a part of LaRocca yearning for the music that reflected his authentic identity. Cue his new EP, 'dog years'. In the year it took to create, LaRocca felt like he had lived through seven years' worth of challenges and personal growth. Going into 2024, he relocated from Toronto to the Canadian wilderness to follow the Americana, rootsy sounds that were calling to him.

Working with Daniel Lanois (Neil Young, Bob Dylan), Matt DeLong and Ben Cook (No Warning), Jahson Paynter, and Dave Marcus (21 Savage, Rico Nasty), LaRocca felt confident to not only traverse new genres, but to dive deep into his personal life. 'dog years' is both a time-lapse that sees his relationships bloom and a love letter to himself.

Chris is steadily gaining fans across Southeast Asia, with 🇵🇭the Philippines at #4 among his top 10 streaming countries worldwide.

October 7th, 2025 - Philippines — Fresh off his headline tour across Asia, breakout pop artist and multi-platinum singer-songwriter/producer elijah woods shares one final preview of his long-awaited debut album with the release of his new single, "I Miss You" — an irresistible emotionally relatable pop track that sticks from the very first listen. His highly anticipated debut album, 'Can We Talk?', drops next week on October 14th. Fans can stream the new single HERE and pre-save the album HERE.

A classic elijah woods love song, "I Miss You" captures the infectious charm of his earlier viral hits, channeling the same heartfelt energy and emotional immediacy that made "24/7, 365" a breakout favourite. Built around warm acoustic guitar riffs, a soaring, hook-heavy melody, and intimate, emotionally honest lyrics, the song showcases elijah's gift for storytelling that feels both familiar and deeply personal.

""I Miss You" is about holding on to hope when love feels uncertain—that late-night belief that if we just keep trying, we can find our way back. It's emotional, but ultimately about faith in connection."

— elijah woods

After teasing the song across Instagram and TikTok last month, elijah quickly sparked a flood of anticipation, with fans lighting up the comments and urging for its release. The forthcoming record, 'Can We Talk?', marks a major milestone for elijah. After releasing five EPs and a string of viral singles over the past five years, he has carved out a remarkable path as a fully independent artist — amassing over 1 billion global streams, building a loyal fanbase of more than 5 million followers, and touring the world entirely on his own terms. This debut album encapsulates the intimacy, vulnerability, and emotional depth that have defined elijah's songwriting from the start, while confidently leaning into the clever, infectious pop sound that has powered his rapid rise. With 'Can We Talk?', elijah delivers exactly what fans have come to love: vibey, emotionally resonant tracks that speak straight from—and to—the heart.

elijah woods just wrapped his second headline tour across Asia, igniting 12 cities on the 'Give Me The Sunlight!' tour—including sold-out shows in Taipei and Hong Kong, a marquee set at The Sounds Project in Jakarta, and standout performances at Japan's iconic Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka and Tokyo. With major stops in Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, and more, the tour firmly established elijah as one of the most electrifying and fast-rising pop voices in the region.

In 2024, his rising prominence in Asia reached new heights—selling out his first Asia tour in May, opening for Niall Horan in Jakarta, and taking the stage at the Seoul Jazz Festival alongside Lauv, Jeremy Zucker, and JP Saxe. Today, Asia dominates his global streaming audience, with top markets including: #2 Indonesia, #3 Philippines, #5 Taiwan, #6 India, #8 Malaysia, #9 Thailand, and #11 Singapore.

Beyond the stage, elijah's charisma and personal style are making waves in fashion. He recently graced the cover of Esquire Singapore and was featured in The Greatest Magazine, VMAN SEA, and NYLON Manila—with more coverage on the way.

With his long-awaited debut album arriving next week, 2025 is shaping up to be elijah's biggest year yet as he steps into another breakout year on the global stage.

Barbie Almalbis takes over Shibuya Crossing in “All U Wanna Do” music video

October 3, 2025

The award-winning singer-songwriter braves rain, rush hour, and onlookers in a spontaneous Tokyo shoot directed by Niña Sandejas

Manila, Philippines – Acclaimed singer-songwriter Barbie Almalbis has released the music video for her latest single, “All U Wanna Do.”

The striking visual piece was shot guerilla-style at the iconic Shibuya Crossing, capturing Almalbis’ impassioned performance amid a bustling city life in Tokyo, Japan.

Singing with only her earphones as accompaniment, Almalbisstands in stark contrast to the rush of strangers around her, transforming a fleeting moment into a deeply personal expression of frustration, resilience, and artistry.

Directed and conceptualized by celebrated photographer and filmmaker Niña Sandejas, the project emerged from an impromptu creative adventure during Almalbis’ travels in Japan, where she’s invited to perform.

“It wasn’t an original idea—every day, tourists record themselves in that famous scramble—but this shoot was something else entirely,” Sandejas explains. “Barbie sang full voice with only her earphones as a backing track, while strangers brushed past, stared, or bumped into her. The rain gave us only a brief pause to work, and we had a hard stop because she was headed straight to a gig that night. A few takes, a lot of faith, and a camera chasing her through the rush: that was all we had. Behind the lens, what struck me most wasn’t the crowd or the noise, but Barbie’s composure. Her dedication to bring to life each of her songs, giving the same devotion to a pop-up shoot on a rainy Tokyo street as she would to a stage.”

Joining Sandejas and Almalbis on the road was a tight-knit team: Rachael Roldan, who handled hair and makeup and assisted in lighting, and Martin Honasan, Barbie’s husband, who helped with crowd management. Ysmael Salvador, editor of the video, took Niña’s chaotic handheld footage and tied it into a cohesive and magnetic narrative. Salvador has previously worked with Almalbis on the visuals of her songs “Platonic” and “Needy.”

“As a nod to Barbie’s history, we layered in an echo from Hungry Young Poets’ song ‘Runaway’ where the sound of traffic and voices in Japanese that once opened the track,” Nina adds. “It felt right to bring that spirit full circle, folding memory into the present.”

Reflecting on the collaboration, Almalbis praised Sandejas instinctive artistry: “Niña really is a natural, and I love seeing how she almost simply reacts to her surroundings instinctively. I think she has spent a long time mastering that art.”
