The Bloomfields channel cut-out psychedelia in “Pink Skies” music video

September 26, 2025

Inspired by Filipino collage artists, the trippy video embraces imperfection as a mark of authenticity

Manila, Philippines – The Bloomfields are set to release the official music video for their latest single “Pink Skies.”

Helmed by the band’s bassist Louie Poco, who both directed and edited the project, the video takes the form of a surreal animated collage, unfolding in a kaleidoscope of psychedelic imagery, band performances, and pop-art influences.

[PRESS KIT AND PRESS PHOTOS HERE]

For Poco, the project was more than just a technical experiment; it was a true work of heart and passion. “It was my first time experimenting with green screen and animated collage,” he shares. “No AI involved, just countless hours of hands-on editing and flexing creative muscles.”

Drawing inspiration from Filipino collage artists Andrea Cervantes and Charlie Salazar, Poco channeled their cut-out aesthetic to craft a piece that mirrors the band’s sonic DNA: vintage-tinged, psychedelic, and deeply human.

“Its imperfections are exactly what make it beautiful and trippy,” explains Louie. “It’s not about polished perfection, but about joy, creativity, and the spirit of something crafted with love.”

Sonically, “Pink Skies” brims with Britpop influences and indie rock sensibilities. Equal parts dreamy escape and radiant anthem, the track feels like an endless summer: a shimmering fantasy, a break from reality, and a wish for light to cut through the storm.

“Pink Skies” was released earlier this month on all digital music platforms worldwide via Lilystars Records. Watch out for the premiere of the music video this Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:30 PM.

RUEL RELEASES MESMERIZING NEW SONG “WILD GUESS”

September 26, 2025

LISTEN HERE

 SOPHOMORE ALBUM KICKING MY FEET

OUT OCTOBER 17, 2025

Australian pop-sensation Ruel returns with his new track “Wild Guess” available now via Giant Music – Listen HERE. “Wild Guess” showcases a raw, stripped-back vulnerability that highlights the emotional depth of Ruel’s evolving sound. The track is co-written by Ruel, Leroy Clampitt (Justin Bieber, Madison Beer) and Dan Wilson(Adele, Taylor Swift), and produced by the multitalented duo. The track is the latest taste off Ruel’s forthcoming sophomore album Kicking My Feet due October 17, 2025 and will be premiering via New Music Daily on Apple Music, accompanied by a FaceTime interview with Zane Lowe. The album is available for pre-order HERE.

With soft, folk-inspired vocals and bare acoustic textures, “Wild Guess” gently captures the slow unraveling of a relationship and the quiet ache of not fully understanding why it ended. “I’m not so sure / but I’m taking a wild guess / you’re slipping away from me,” Ruel sings with acceptance. The track unfolds patiently, mirroring the emotional distance between two people, before arriving at the bittersweet realization in the chorus: “It’s been a wild ride, but I won’t be your baby anymore,” embracing the cold truth that sometimes the best things have to end.

“Wild Guess” is the third release off Ruel’s forthcoming record and follows the bluesy “The Suburbs” and lead single “I Can Die Now.” Kicking My Feet marks the start of a new era for Ruel; one that feels creatively liberated, emotionally nuanced, and sonically bolder than ever. After relocating from Sydney to Los Angeles and signing with Giant Music, Ruel immersed himself in a new creative ecosystem and began building the album from the ground up.

I knew I wanted to push myself on this new album, but it wasn’t until I had to finalise the track list that I realised I’d actually made over 200 songs for Kicking My Feet – Ruel

He worked closely with some of the industry’s most celebrated and genre-shaping producers, including Julian Bunetta(Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction), Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams), Kenny Beats (Dominic Fike, Ed Sheeran), Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift, Chris Stapleton), and longtime collaborator M-Phazes (Eminem, Kehlani, Ruel’s debut album). Together, they crafted a record that is sonically adventurous and deeply personal, blending pop, alt and R&B, into a cohesive, modern sound. The result is a genre-blurring, emotionally relatable album that reflects Ruel’s evolution as both a person and an artist.

About Ruel

Australia’s pop prodigy Ruel is growing up and it shows on his highly anticipated sophomore album Kicking My Feet, available Oct 17th via Giant Music. Pop’s newest It Boy has been on the rise since he was a teenager, adorning his studio walls are an ever-growing collection of platinum plaques and award statues from the likes of RIAA, MTV, ARIA and Nickelodeon.

He has amassed over three billion streams, sold out multiple world tours and regularly attends fashion shows at the invitation of luxury haute couture such as Louis Vuitton and Hermès. Away from the runway, Ruel’s admiration for unique, highly conceptualised style can be seen in his editorials with Prada and Fendi, and through his extensive list of features on the pages of Vogue, GQ, NME and The Face. Around the world, eyes have been keenly watching Ruel’s career ascent; notably by Sir Elton John and Zane Lowe, both of whom have sung the praises of the UK-born, Sydney-raised talent, calling him a "superstar."

Kicking My Feet showcases the 22-year-old’s sharpened songwriting as he explores the innocence and embarrassment of being young and in love, as the album title teases. Alongside frequent collaborator M-Phazes, the album has Ruel expanding his roster of creative partners, including Dan Wilson, Joel Little, Kenny Beats and Julian Bunetta. The experimentation with his sound and artistry, has Ruel evolving himself into a bolder musician on an unmissable trajectory.

YABANG PINOY celebrates 20 years of Pinoy pride with events, partnerships, and a renewed call to ‘Live Proudly’

September 25, 2025

Yabang Pinoy, the pioneering movement that has championed Filipino pride and identity for the last two decades, celebrates its 20th anniversary with a powerful lineup of events, meaningful collaborations, and a renewed call for Filipinos to “Live Proudly.”

Founded in 2005 by young, passionate advocates, Yabang Pinoy has stood at the forefront of a consumer revolution anchored on the belief that national pride starts with everyday choices: sa isip, sa salita, at sa gawa (in thoughts, in words, and in deeds). From mounting iconic bazaars that have uplifted local entrepreneurs to cultivating programs that shape youth leadership and artistic expression, the movement has created platforms where Filipino talent, ingenuity, and creativity truly shine.

Looking back at the two decades of Yabang Pinoy, Head of Projects & Partnerships JM Jose considers meeting their collaborators and partners as some of their biggest accomplishments so far. He explains, “Our greatest accomplishment is the leaders, advocates, and volunteers we have met & worked with along the way—individuals who found their passion and success with the help of YP’s training and experiences. They continue to embody and champion the ‘Filipino First’ mindset, which is the very heart of our movement.”

Spotlight on advocates of Filipino creativity

At its 20th anniversary press conference, Yabang Pinoy also unveiled a special panel entitled “Filipino Brands in Focus,” which gathered trailblazing entrepreneurs who embody the essence of Filipino pride and innovation. Among the inspiring voices was Ann Poco, co-founder of local lifestyle brand, Gouache.

What began with one made-to-order camera bag has since become a social enterprise with a purpose. A Management Information Systems graduate turned lifestyle visionary, Ann’s serendipitous encounter with Marikina’s artisans led to the birth of Gouache—a proudly Filipino brand crafting functional and stylish camera bags, backpacks, and lifestyle carriers.

In celebration of Yabang Pinoy’s 20th year, Gouache and Yabang Pinoy are joining forces to launch a special collaboration line of bags, with a portion of proceeds dedicated to planting 100,000 Bitaog hardwood trees along the Bacnotan Riverway in La Union. These trees, known to naturally shield communities against flooding and coastal erosion, underscore the collaboration’s greater purpose: sustainability and nation-building.

Another panelist featured in “Filipino Brands in Focus” is Ali Sangalang, a true creative force and one of the country’s most inspiring storytellers. A proud Filipino honors graduate who once served as a speechwriter for the late President Noynoy Aquino, Ali’s journey then took a bold turn into entrepreneurship, where he poured his wit, humor, and love for Filipino culture into Linya-Linya, the now-iconic 10-year-old brand of clever shirts and everyday essentials that celebrate our quirks and stories. But Ali’s creativity doesn’t stop there. He is also one of the minds behind Big Fuzz and Puddy Rock Studio—ventures that continue to showcase his passion for music, design, and building communities through creativity.

As part of Yabang Pinoy’s 20th year, Linya-Linya partners with the Filipino pride entity through its Live Proud shorts—a collection that proudly embodies Filipino identity and everyday pride. Today, Ali stands as an example of how Filipinos can live proudly by embracing their roots, telling stories, and turning ideas into movements.

Two Decades of Milestones

Yabang Pinoy continues to stand proud and keeps the advocacy alive, which is to make nation-building a daily habit and lifestyle. Its lifelong mission is to continue to spark the national pride in every single Filipino. Since its founding in 2005, Yabang Pinoy has produced several acclaimed flagship programs, including Global Pinoy Bazaar—a premier showcase of quality Filipino products that creates a bridge between entrepreneurs and consumers, expanding from modest gatherings to major curated events.

According to Yabang Pinoy Director Patrick Joson, Global Pinoy Bazaar started as a small community event showcasing Filipino entrepreneurs and their Philippine-made products in modest venues. “Over the years, it grew into a much larger community gathering in bigger locations, featuring more diverse and carefully curated brands and continuing to champion consumer revolution,” he shares. “It created a space where entrepreneurs and consumers can connect through shared pride in quality Filipino products and services.”

Other notable flagship programs include Philippine Cinema Sessions, which provide a platform for filmmakers, actors, and creatives to initiate dialogue on the state and future of Philippine cinema; Y.A.B.A.N.G Camp, a youth leadership program training young Filipinos to advocate for “Filipino First” values in their chosen field; and 7107, an exploration program designed to rediscover hidden Philippine destinations while supporting grassroots livelihoods.

For the last quarter of 2025, Yabang Pinoy announces its roster of events that provide invaluable support for homegrown brands, entrepreneurs, artists and communities. Celebrate the season by making every gift and purchase a reflection of one’s pride and identity.

J-pop superstar Kenshi Yonezu teams up with global icon Hikaru Utada for “Jane Doe”

September 24, 2025

New track is the official ending theme of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc

Chart-topping J-pop superstar KENSHI YONEZU teams up with global icon HIKARU UTADA for a new collaborative track “JANE DOE,” the ending theme to the hugely anticipated CHAINSAW MAN – THE MOVIE: REZE ARC. “JANE DOE” marks the first collaboration between the two iconic Japanese artists and was written and composed by Yonezu with Utada joining in on vocals. Also making its debut today is the track’s official music video directed by Tomokazu Yamada and featuring both artists. Today’s news follows a massive couple of weeks for Yonezu, who recently released the theme to the CHAINSAW MAN – THE MOVIE: REZE ARC “IRIS OUT,” debuted on Spotify's Top Songs Debut Global Chart at #2, and made history as his CHAINSAW MAN TV anime series theme “KICK BACK” became the first-ever Japanese language song to reach RIAA-Platinum certification.

The “JANE DOE” music video features the two artists, dressed entirely in black, sitting apart on benches on a train station platform. It depicts a station platform where passengers heading in different directions briefly cross paths only during boarding and getting off. While waiting for the next train, two passengers who happen to sit on the same bench exert a light gravitational pull on each other, like invisible, large circles. Directed by Tomokazu Yamada, known for music videos including Kenshi Yonezu's “Lemon,” “Uma to Shika,” and “Sayonara, Mata Itsuka! – Sayonara.” Hikaru Utada’s “Mine or Yours,” “A Flower of No Color,” and “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-,” as well as directing last year’s “SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024.”

Of the track, KENSHI YONEZU says, “I started working on the song without giving too much thought to who would sing it. However, as the song began to take shape, it became evident that no one was better suited to it than Utada-san, so I reached out to them. The moment Utada-san’s voice—melancholic, yet sweeping like a gust of wind—came in over the track, I remember being so moved that I let out a sharp gasp. As a songwriter, I feel truly honored to have been given this opportunity.”

HIKARU UTADA adds, “I knew I had to give it a go when I received this offer. Both of us being uncompromising singer-songwriters, we knew better than anybody else where the other comes from, but also faced the challenge of meeting halfway where our styles, as we found in the process, contrast. I hope everyone can feel the new sides that were brought out in us, as we remained true to ourselves and each other.”

Music video director TOMOKAZU YAMADA says, “We spin endlessly in the darkness of the universe, exerting light gravitational pull upon one another. Even when we are close enough to touch, we are all distant stars. Each with its own rotation, each gazing upon its own night. This is truly a collision of galaxies. A moment that is like an eternity, in a place that is neither light nor darkness.”

“IRIS OUT” is already setting another record on the Spotify Japan Daily Chart, achieving the “highest daily play count ever recorded” for six days in a row. “IRIS OUT” debuted on Spotify's Top Songs Debut Global Chart at #2, is also currently at #3 on Apple Music's Global Daily Top 100 chart. The music video for “IRIS OUT” was also released on September 15 and has already surpassed 10 million views on YouTube, generating significant buzz as earning #4 on the Global YouTube Daily Music Videos Charts. Available to watch now.

NU volleyball coach Kenan launches music career with first single “Sabi Mo”

September 24, 2025

The new recording artist teams up with 6cyclemind’s Rye Sarmiento and Gracenote’s Jazz Jorge for a track reminiscent of ‘90s and early 2000s alternative rock

Filipino newcomer Kenan marks his debut as a recording artist with the release of “Sabi Mo” under Sony Music Entertainment.

Best known today as a professional volleyball trainer and coach at the National University (NU), Kenan’s deep love for music eventually opened the door to a career he once thought was out of reach.

His first official single, “Sabi Mo,” captures the struggles of moving on after promises of forever are broken. Drawing from his own past experiences with heartbreak, Kenan poured his emotion into the track. He reveals. “I was lost in the moment because it brought back memories, both good andbad. That experience gave me the courage to deliver the song with honesty and vulnerability, while still making it my own.”

Produced by Rye Sarmiento (6cyclemind), the song transforms frustration into catharsis, delivering a powerful sing-along that feels like both a nostalgic and refreshing material. Originally written as an acoustic piece, “Sabi Mo” grew into something unexpectedly bigger during pre-production, evolving with a fuller arrangement inspired by the sound of ‘90s and early 2000s pop-rock.

“We wanted to veer away from the current mold of heartbreak songs with mellow and stripped-down tendencies,” Kenan shares. “For Sabi Mo, we went for a raunchier, more rock-out sound. There’s more oomph and spunk to it, but without losing the emotional sentiment of the lyrics. Balance is somehow the key.”

Adding to the track’s dynamic energy are Jazz Jorge of Gracenote, Jape Bongat, and Ernie Bañares of Kiss n’ Tell, who brought their talent and expertise to the recording. The synergy between Kenan and his collaborators was pivotal in shaping the song’s final form.

“During pre-prod, it felt like we were just feeding off each other’s vibe,” Kenan recalls. “Our chemistry is obviously inescapable, but the song naturally took shape—thanks to our individual and collaborative strengths. I’m proud of the outcome.”

Kenan’s “Sabi Mo” is now available on all major streaming platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

About Kenan

Kenan is a Filipino alternative pop artist currently signed under Sony Music Entertainment. Born and raised in Quezon City, the solo newcomer grew up surrounded by music that would eventually shape his sound and artistry. From his father strumming worship songs and Gary Granada tunes on guitar to car rides filled with The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and Paul Simon, his early memories are painted vividly with nostalgic pop and rock songs from the past.

His older brother also introduced him to the ‘90s alt-rock scene, particularly with artists such as  Eraserheads, Rivermaya, The Dawn, Oasis, Green Day, and Foo Fighters blasting off their speakers in their younger years. The wide spectrum of influences continues to echo in his brand of heartfelt, genre-bending music, solidified even further by his love for performing.

As a newly signed recording artist, Kenan describes his sound as light, soothing, and deeply emotional. His work gravitates toward evocative arrangements that highlight the sincerity and raw beauty of his voice.

Eraserheads: Combo On The Run heads to prestigious film festivals in Hawaii and Croatia

September 23, 2025

Diane Ventura’s acclaimed Filipino documentary expands its global footprint with upcoming theatrical screenings

ERASERHEADS: COMBO ON THE RUN conquers the international stage with screenings at two major film festivals next month: the 44th Annual Hawai'i International Film Festival in the United States and the International Sound and Film Festival in Samobor, Croatia.

Directed and produced by Maria Diane Ventura, the critically acclaimed docu-film is part of the official selection for Spotlight On The Philippines, a showcase featuring new Filipino films that are redefining storytelling in groundbreaking, boundary-pushing ways. It will be screened at the Consolidated Theatres Kapolei 3 on October 30, 2025 at 6:00 pm in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Alongside ERASERHEADS: COMBO ON THE RUN, the special section also features Lav Diaz’s Magellan, which was handpicked as the Philippines' entry to the 98th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film, and Jerrold Tarog’s Quezon, an epic historical drama which stars Jericho Rosales on the titular role.

Adding to its accolades, ERASERHEADS: COMBO ON THE RUN is also nominated for Best International Film Documentary at the International Sound & Film Music Festival, widely regarded as one of the three largest and most important sound and film music festivals in the world. The event will take place on October 6, 2025.

“Sharing a story and music that are distinctly ours, yet resonate with a wider audience, is inspiring,” Diane Ventura said in a press statement. “Representing the Philippines on this stage is a privilege.”

The journey doesn’t stop at newly announced festival screenings. Over the coming months, ERASERHEADS: COMBO ON THE RUN will be rolling out the dates for its official international theatrical release, beginning in the Middle East, followed by Australia, the United States, Canada and the UK.

“We’re thrilled to be taking the film beyond the Philippines,” shares Ventura. “It’s exciting to see this story travel and connect with audiences around the world.”

About ERASERHEADS: COMBO ON THE RUN

ERASERHEADS: COMBO ON THE RUN is both a definitive portrait of the Philippines’ most iconic alternative rock band and a stirring meditation on time, memory, and healing. Charting the Eraserheads’ journey from their humble beginnings as college students at UP Diliman in 1989, in the creative afterglow of the EDSA People Power Revolution, the film captures their meteoric rise in the 1990s, when their raw lyrics and fearless originality redefined Filipino music and resonated deeply with the country’s youth. Their success, often likened to the Beatles’ impact on Western music, was marked by near-annual album releases, international recognition, and songs that became the soundtrack of a generation.

Through candid band interviews, key collaborators’ reflections, and electrifying archival footage, the documentary revisits their dissolution, the bittersweet sting of their breakup, and the power of nostalgia for fans who grew up after their peak. Yet it also finds renewal in their triumphant 2022 “Huling El Bimbo” reunion concert, where 75,000 fans bore witness to reconciliation and rebirth.

The Itchyworms bring their “Akin Ka Na Lang” tour in Nagoya for the first time

September 23, 2025

Manila, Philippines – Award-winning Filipino pop-rock band The Itchyworms returns to Japan for their “Akin Ka Na Lang”tour, with a special show scheduled at Live House Circus in Nagoya on October 5, 2025.

The show marks their debut performance in Nagoya, the fourth most populous city in Japan. The Itchyworms, long admired for their anthemic hits and infectious performances, have previous taken the stage in Tokyo and Saitama in early 2025, and a standout stint at Tokyo Beyond Festival in 2022 and Kansai Music Festival in 2023.

“This will be our first time to travel to Nagoya (as tourists, and as performers),” says Jugs Jugueta, the lead vocalist and guitarist of The Itchyworms. “We heard that there is a huge Filipino community in Nagoya. We are so excited to play for them and to meet them all! We love Japan so much.”

Sharing the enthusiasm is drummer and co-lead vocalist Jazz Nicolas, who adds, “We’ve never been to Nagoya before so it’ll be a new experience for us. It’s always great to play for both Filipino and local audiences in Japan.”

Fans can expect some surprises and unique touches for this particular stop. “We try to feel the vibe of the audience, so that we can deliver the best show for them,” Jugs explains. “One thing for sure is that we will take them back to the Philippines, if only for a few hours.”

Joining the band on tour is their newest member Michael Vargas, who will showcase his versatility and chops on guitar, keyboards and violin. His addition adds another layer of energy to the group’s highly anticipated overseas shows.

The Nagoya stop serves as the fourth international show this year, following successful stints in Japan (Tokyo), the UK, and Indonesia (Bali).

“Everything about international touring is exciting,” says Jugs. “Food is a huge part of the ‘new’ experience. The challenging part is fitting all the pasalubongs in your suitcase without going over baggage!”

(Credit: Tero Music)

Bangkok-based alternative rock powerhouses Slot Machine are returning to the road with the Skyline Asia Tour 2025, bringing their explosive live energy to fans across the region. Known for their soaring anthems, dynamic stage presence, and boundary-pushing creativity, the trio will perform in five key cities across Southeast Asia and Taiwan this fall.

Skyline Asia Tour 2025 Live Dates

● 11 Nov – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Exchange Hall

● 18 Nov – Singapore – Foo Chow Hall

● 20 Nov – Jakarta, Indonesia – Krapela Live

● 25 Nov – Taipei, Taiwan – The Wall

The upcoming tour follows Slot Machine’s appearance at the Skechers Sundown Festival in Singapore (5 Jul) and Busan International Rock Festival in Korea (28 Sep). Each show cements Slot Machine’s reputation as one of Asia’s most electrifying live acts, with Foet Karinyawat’s soaring vocals, Gak Atirath’s pulsing basslines, and Vit Janevit’s masterful guitar work transforming every stage into an unforgettable experience.

A Band at the Heart of a Global Phenomenon

Slot Machine’s touring announcement comes on the heels of their contribution to Shine, the breakout BL drama series that has taken Asia and the world by storm. Their soundtrack singles, “Far Side of the Moon” and “Am I in Love”, not only revealed a softer, never-before-seen 60s-inspired side of the band but also added to the series’ charm, on its path to international success.

Shine has topped X (formerly Twitter) worldwide trends and dominated WeTV global rankings, with episodes regularly trending at #1 across Thailand, Indonesia, and Mexico, and charting in markets as far as Brazil, the US, and Argentina. Slot Machine’s music has been central to that momentum, underscoring emotional story arcs and connecting the band to millions of new listeners around the globe.

The music video for “Far Side of the Moon” features the legendary Dream Machine, an experimental 1960s art device designed to trigger dreamlike hallucinations. Its presence links Slot Machine’s vision to a wider cultural legacy of exploration and creative risk-taking.

With each release, Slot Machine fuses rock with spiritual symbolism and Thai identity, forging a sound that resonates far beyond borders.

September 22nd, 2025 – Multiple Diamond and Platinum certified, GRAMMY® Award nominee Julia Michaels shares her brand-new single “No Heartbreaks Killed Me Yet”, out now via GFY Records. Fans can stream the song here and watch the music video here.

The uplifting and emotionally charged indie-pop track blends Michaels’ sharp, diaristic lyricism with soaring melodies and an unshakable hook, capturing the resilient spirit of surviving heartbreak and moving forward stronger than ever. Written and recorded during one of her most creatively prolific periods, the song highlights the fearless storytelling and emotional clarity that have made Michaels a trusted architect of modern pop.

Julia Michaels  - "No Heartbreak's Killed Me Yet" (Official Video)

The new single follows a historic run that cements Michaels’ status as a true music powerhouse. Over the past year alone she co-wrote Sabrina Carpenter’s global smash “Taste”, which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached #1 on Spotify Global. She also co-wrote three consecutive #1 Pop Radio singles for Tate McRae: “Sports Car”, “Revolving Door”, and “I Know Love”, helping McRae’s album 'So Close to What' debut at #1 on the Billboard 200. Julia also performed her recent solo work from her 2025 EP 'Second Self' at the GRAMMY Museum.

Now, with “No Heartbreaks Killed Me Yet”, Michaels steps fully into center stage, delivering music as bold and emotionally incisive as the era-defining hits she has long created for others.

About Julia Michaels

There are few figures in music today as quietly omnipresent and game-changing as Julia Michaels. In the past decade, she’s penned era-defining hits for Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, and dozens more, amassing over 60 billion streams across her catalog, including 13 billion as a primary artist. Her work has earned 18 Diamond and 194 Platinum RIAA certifications, along with 20 Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 entries, including two No. 1s: Bieber’s “Sorry” and Gomez’s “Lose You To Love Me”.

The past year has been one of her most commanding yet. Since last September, Michaels’ Grammy-eligible releases have pulled in over 1.3 billion streams, with Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste” and “Bed Chem” both hitting No. 1 at U.S. Pop Radio, “Taste” also peaking at No. 2 on the Hot 100 and topping charts in the UK, Australia, and on Spotify Global. Tate McRae’s 'Think Later' era, anchored by three Michaels co-writes (“Sports Car”, “Revolving Door”, “I Know Love”), delivered three No. 1 Pop Airplay hits and McRae’s first Billboard 200 No. 1. Beyond the numbers, Michaels has built a career on songs that cut deep, lyrically sharp, emotionally specific, and spanning genres. Artists trust her with their most vulnerable moments, knowing she’ll turn them into something universal.

It’s the latest chapter in a career defined by emotional precision and staying power. From the 5x-platinum
“Issues” to her 2025 EP 'Second Self', released this year via her own GFY Records, Michaels has proven she can own the spotlight as a solo artist while remaining one of the most trusted collaborators in the business. Six Grammy nominations, including Song of the Year and Best New Artist already line her résumé, but with her current run of global smashes, she’s making a strong case for more.

Her music continues to grow globally and in Southeast Asia, with top streaming countries including the Philippines (#2) and Indonesia (#4).

OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR “DAVID’S BROTHER” OUT TODAY – WATCH HERE

AN EVENING WITH THE FAVORS IN NEW YORK CITY ON OCTOBER 1  &AUSTIN, TX ON OCTOBER 4

(The Favors Press Photo, L-R: Ashe, Ricky “Rat” Gourmet,Marinelli, Finneas. Credit: Muriel Margaret.)

The Favors (FINNEAS & Ashe) release their debut album The Dream, on Darkroom Records. “David’s Brother,” the high-spirited focus track, also arrives with a Claudia Sulewski-directed music video featuring the full band.

“David’s Brother” is an uptempo yet nostalgic track that vividly captures the relatable tension of running into someone unexpectedly at a bar and balancing self-restraint, all wrapped in the lively, collaborative production that defines the band’s album. Set in a bar, the video highlights their effortless chemistry and genuine bond as they reminisce, laugh, and celebrate—the joy and togetherness at the heart of The Favors. Listen HERE and watch the official music video HERE.

The bright harmonies and alternating solo verses follow naturally from the intimate dialogue that characterizes “The Little Mess You Made” (Listen & Watch HERE) and “The Hudson” (Listen & Watch HERE).

The Dream is a no-rules project that revives the warmth and groove of '70s pop with razor-sharp songwriting, lush harmonies, and a distinctly modern edge. Drawing deep inspiration from the golden era of Laurel Canyon, The Dreamchannels the intimate storytelling and sun-soaked melancholy of artists like Carole King and Simon & Garfunkel —filtered through a cinematic lens that stretches coast to coast. The band is fronted by longtime friends and collaborators FINNEAS and Ashe—who first captured hearts with their 2019 hit “Moral of the Story” and followed it up with 2021’s “Till Forever Falls Apart.” A few songs bring New York City into vivid focus while, at its heart, the album remains rooted in Los Angeles, where it was largely written and recorded face-to-face in FINNEAS’ living room joined by his solo band membersMatthew Fildey (Ricky “Rat” Gourmet) and David Marinelli (Marinelli).

“It was just drums, an old CP80, electric piano, guitar, bass, and Ashe and me singing together,” Finneas recalls. “That’s how every artist dreams of making a record,” Ashe adds.“People don’t record live vocals together anymore—it felt so romantic and fun.” “It’s a true long-play album,” Finneas continues. “The kind you put on start to finish while cooking with friends.” “I want you to feel warm, fuzzy, and heartbroken all at once,” Ashe concludes.

The album release will be surrounded by a select slate of headline shows which kicked off last night at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles. Full tour dates below.

ONE OR EIGHT Fresh Off Their VMA Appearance, Releases Second Instalment of “Anthems of Challenge”

September 19, 2025

Stream New Single “BET YOUR LIFE” HERE

(credit: Avex Music Creative Inc.)

Fresh off their VMA appearance, rising global boy group ONE OR EIGHT has released “BET YOUR LIFE”, the highly anticipated second track in their ongoing “Anthems of Challenge” series.

Following the youthful spirit of the first installment, “
Young & Reckless” (“Like a kid”), “BET YOUR LIFE” embodies the theme “Like You” - an anthem of determination to believe in one’s potential and keep pushing forward through doubt and uncertainty. Anchored by the symbolic line “You can bet your life”, the track delivers a powerful message about discarding hesitation and safety nets and forging a future through sheer willpower.

The official music video will premiere on ONE OR EIGHT’s
official YouTube channel on 26 September, 9PM (JST).

”BET YOUR LIFE” is all about standing on the edge and taking that all-or-nothing leap. No matter what happens, we’ll never lose our true selves. We’ll keep challenging, keep moving forward, always with our own identity.

This song carries the strength of unshakable beliefs and an unbreakable spirit. With lyrics like ‘you can bet your life’ and the Japanese line ‘絶対8になる未来(a future that will definitely become 8),’ we’ve poured our passion straight into every word. It’s a powerful side of us you haven’t seen before.

We want to share our LIFE — the life we’re putting everything on the line for — with 1DERZ and everyone who listens to “BET YOUR LIFE”. If you ever find yourself facing a challenge, we hope this track gives you the energy to push through and keep fighting.”
– member RYOTA

"I've had the pleasure of working on many songs for the ONE OR EIGHT boys - through that process I've come to learn what's important and emotionally resonant within the group and moreover, what message they want to convey to their rapidly growing fan base. "BET YOUR LIFE" as a concept and production immediately felt like it embodied the spirit of the group; the song challenges the listener to take risks, live boldly and chase a life of individuality. I couldn't be more excited for the world to hear this anthem!"
– producer David Arkwright (Bella Poarch, RIIZE, Benson Boone)

Singer-Songwriter Luke Chiang Returns with "terrible4u" - A Stirring Prelude to His Long-Awaited Debut Album

September 19, 2025

LISTEN HERE

September 19th, 2025 — Soulful Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter Luke Chiang marks a powerful new chapter in his musical journey with the release of "terrible4u", the lead single from his upcoming debut album set for early 2026. Fans can stream the newest single HERE.

Following a life-altering vocal cord diagnosis that sidelined him for nearly two years, Luke spent 2020 to 2022 relearning how to use his voice—rebuilding both his instrument and his identity as an artist. Before the hiatus, his five singles had already earned him an avid fan base with an appetite for more music. In 2024, he made a powerful return with two new tracks, which were received with equal enthusiasm, turning the page to the next chapter of his career. Now, he steps into a new era with "terrible4u". Lush and emotionally potent, the track blends laid-back romanticism with a feel-good melodic arrangement, elevated by his powerful yet soothing vocals—revealing an evolved sound shaped by resilience and growth.

Luke describes "terrible4u" as a vulnerable reflection on love's complexities: the track balances that emotional conflict with his signature chill R&B sound, making it both heartbreaking and hypnotic. "terrible4u" is both familiar and new—it resonates with the intimate storytelling and soulful warmth that originally drew listeners in, but pushes forward with more expansive production and emotional complexity.

""terrible4u" is a song about realising you might be the wrong person for somebody in your current stage of life — but simultaneously remaining in love and not wanting to give it up."

— Luke Chiang

Since first turning heads with tracks like "May I Ask", "Paragraphs", "Shouldn't Be"—which sparked over 500,000 user-generated TikTok videos and now sits at over 280 million streams—Luke has quietly built a global audience with a sound that merges R&B, soul, and contemporary production. He now counts over 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, recently ranking among the top 100 progressive R&B artists in the world (Chartmetric). But his most passionate fanbase lives in Southeast Asia, with all of his Top 6 streaming cities located in the region: #1 Jakarta, #2 Quezon City, #3 Bangkok, #4 Kuala Lumpur, #5 Bandung, and #6 Singapore.

More than a comeback, "terrible4u" sets the emotional and sonic tone for Luke Chiang's long-anticipated full-length debut. It's a testament to artistic resilience, a reminder of the quiet power in vulnerability, and a bold signal of what's to come in 2026.

Pop Soul/R&B Singer-songwriter Jordan Astra Enters Bold New Era with Debut Album 'Time Will Tell' Featuring Collaboration With Malaysian Icon Yuna

September 19, 2025

LISTEN HERE

September 19th, 2025 — Jordan Astra isn't here to play it safe—he's here to make it impossible to stand still. Today, the Indonesian-Canadian artist and producer drops the long-awaited third instalment of his music trilogy since 2023, 'Time Will Tell', via Mind of a Genius Records. Fans can stream the new album HERE.

With his debut LP 'Time Will Tell', Jordan Astra is swinging for the fences—bringing his signature blend of soul, funk, and groove into sharp, undeniable focus. It's a record steeped in vibrant R&B, sunlit funk, and pop sparkle—pulling from the effervescence of Pharrell, the swagger of Jamiroquai, and the show-stopping energy of Bruno Mars.

The album's focus track, "Safest Place" featuring Malaysian singer-songwriter and global icon Yuna, is a stunning, soul-soothing duet that radiates warmth and emotional depth. Set against a backdrop of lush orchestral instrumentation, Yuna's signature silky vocals intertwine effortlessly with Astra's crisp, powerful delivery, capturing the quiet magic of feeling truly safe with someone. Intimate yet cinematic, the track builds to a feel-good crescendo — equal parts grand, tender, and unforgettable.

'Time Will Tell' also features collaborations with Afro-R&B trailblazer Nonso Amadi and acclaimed singer-songwriter Justin Nozuka, bringing depth and diversity to a project rooted in vulnerability, connection, and sonic elegance. With earlier singles like
"Honey", "Famous", and "Driving Me Wild", Astra continues to carve out a sound that's an unapologetic celebration of joy, human connection, and the warmth we pass between one another.

Jordan Astra has carved out his lane with irresistible grooves, a magnetic stage presence, and a relentless work ethic—anchored by his personal mantra: "Repetition Sharpens Blades." It's a philosophy that has taken him from making beats in a university dorm room to headlining stages across continents, winning The Showcase Tour Finale and opening for the likes of Leikeli47. He was named one of NXNE's Top 40 Artists to Watch in 2022, and his global momentum shows no signs of slowing—streaming strong in Southeast Asian cities like Bangkok (#1) and Jakarta (#4), where his sound continues to resonate.

Astra's rise hasn't been overnight. Since going solo in 2018 to escape the drag of slow-moving collaborations, he's been grinding with purpose—touring, experimenting, and refining a sound that's both dance floor-ready and lyrically rich. His 2023 EP, 'Man From East' was a homecoming diary after eight transformative years abroad, while 2024's 'Far Deeper' dove into the thrill (and terror) of the unknown. Together, they set the stage for his forthcoming record, 'Time Will Tell'—his most ambitious, colourful, and groove-drenched project yet.

From poolside escapes to candlelit backrooms, Astra's music drops you into scenes you can almost touch. He's not just making tracks—he's building worlds where rhythm reigns and optimism feels like currency. And with 'Time Will Tell', Jordan Astra is proving that in the right hands, repetition isn't just practice—it's power.

'Time Will Tell' Tracklisting:
1. Risk It All
2. Honey
3. Famous
4. Good Love (feat. Nonso Amadi)
5. Outside Looking In
6. Driving Me Wild
7. See What I See

grentperez and HONNE Unveil Collaborative Track "folding chairs on the moon"

September 19, 2025

LISTEN HERE

September 19th, 2025 - Philippines – Breakout artist grentperez and beloved alt-pop duo HONNE have collaborated on a new track "folding chairs on the moon".  The smooth track is a soulful blend of dreamy vocals and a synth-driven groove. The collaboration marks an exciting meeting of grentperez's laid back charm and HONNE's signature atmospheric sound, delivering a track that feels intimate yet expansive at the same time.

Of the collaboration, HONNE shares, "We first reached out to grentperez back in 2022 on Instagram after discovering his music. We sent him a couple of emojis, he replied saying ‘aint no way boy’, and the rest is history. We had a feeling that it would be a lot of fun to work with him on something. So we went into our session in London with excitement, and we were right to do so. Sometimes when you collaborate with someone, it all flows so easily, and ‘folding chairs on the moon’ was a song that just fell out of the 3 of us, all in one day, and we all loved it immediately. We’re super proud of this song, so happy to be releasing it alongside our new friend, and can’t wait for everyone to hear it".

grentperez elaborates, "We wrote ‘folding chairs on the moon’ in no time at all, say 3 hours? Writing about a sort of escape to the stars, to depart and detach from this earth to be with someone you love, alone, a ‘dream’ scenario. Safe to say we’re dreamers, HONNE and I. We ate mindblowingly good almonds from Indonesia, ordered some takeout, played some cute bitty-boopy instruments, recorded my verse and chorus and called it a day."

Stream "folding chairs on the moon" now:
grentperez.fastfriends.co/foldingchairsonthemoon

About grentperez:
At just 23-years-old, Filipino-Australian singer/songwriter grentperez has mastered his own genre of pop music: carefree but soulful, offbeat but refined, escapist but unforgettably sincere. Since first bursting onto the scene with his gold-certified single “Cherry Wine” (a No. 1 hit on Spotify’s Viral 50 chart in several countries), grentperez has morphed from a bedroom-pop sensation to an undeniable creative force, endlessly matching his playful charm and sophisticated vocal talents with a truly unbridled imagination.

With over 500 million listens on streaming platforms, a multi-continental touring resume, and notable support from tastemakers including
NPR Music, MTV, Teen Vogue and more, grentperez is on the precipice of something big, notably like winning Emerging Songwriter of the Year at the 2024 APRA Awards.

His debut album
'Backflips In A Restaurant', which was released earlier this year, captures a genre-bending evolution of his roots as a bedroom-pop sensation, mixing elements of R&B, indie-folk, pop-punk, symphonic pop, ’70s soft-rock, and so much more.

Since his explosive debut, grentperez has grown a sizable audience across Asia, with his
Top 10 Streaming Markets globally including Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan.

About HONNE:

Deep down, HONNE has always been about the friendship between two people. Sure, the UK alt-pop duo have reached incredible heights – from those initial humble recording sessions in Bow, East London, they’ve notched up more than three billion streams, going platinum or multi-platinum in many countries across Asia and selling more than 210,000 tickets for their live shows. But alongside this, it’s been a story of growth, maturity, and kinship.

Gab Cabangon marks debut as a solo artist with the indie guitar-pop track “Pieces”

September 19, 2025

The budding singer-songwriter releases a song that feels like a warm embrace in difficult times

Filipino singer-songwriter Gab Cabangon steps into the spotlight with the release of “Pieces,” his first official single as a solo artist.

The acoustic indie pop track delivers an inspiring message for anyone going through the process of grief, uncertainty, and depression. Cabangon describes it as his “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay” song: an invitation for listeners to embrace vulnerability while holding on to the hope of healing and brighter days ahead.

“I want this song to be the soundtrack for people to allow themselves to go through the process of sadness and grief without feeling judged and without feeling alone,” Cabangon shares. “Part of the journey to fixing what may be broken is acknowledging the sadness and frustration that some things aren’t okay, but also knowing there will always be someone or something to help you stand up again.”

Originally penned as an anniversary gift to his then-girlfriend (now wife) during the pandemic, “Pieces” quickly evolved beyond a personal dedication. When Cabangon began performing it during livestreams and gigs, the song resonated deeply with audiences, often moving listeners to tears. The experience affirmed his decision to bring the song into the studio and share it with a wider audience.

“It also helps that I'm in a place right now where I could really invest in my music and do it at a certain level that I can be proud of,” Gab adds. “I also found friends and people who I wanted to collaborate with to bring my song to life both from a music standpoint and a visual standpoint. They helped me achieve the vision for the song, and they helped me be a better artist and collaborator during the process.”

The song is produced in collaboration with long-time friend and music director David Lina, who brought warmth and tender instrumental work to the arrangements, and mixed and mastered by Shadiel “Shad” Chan and Jan Fuertez, whose sonic touches complemented the poignant feel of the material. With lush acoustic textures and poignant storytelling, the song also reflects Cabangon’s vision of creating music that could easily belong to a film soundtrack.

“Pieces” marks a turning point in Cabangon’s career. After years of performing live (both solo and as the frontman of K.E.) and advocating for OPM, he admits that a shift in mindset allowed him to finally pursue recording as a solo artist.

Cabangon explains, “For the longest time, I was very hesitant to release new music as a solo artist. At first, I thought I would be content just being a gigging artist. But the hunger and desire to record and release new music never left me. So late last year, I made the conscious decision that I wanted to finally release music as ‘Gab Cabangon’.”

With “Pieces,” the budding artist offers a soundtrack to listeners’ life stories, exploring themes of love, healing, and resilience in a remarkably relatable way. As stated in his press statement, “Pieces” serves as an introduction to the themes that he will be writing as a recording artist.

“Not to give away too much, but I’d like to think that it’s the opening song to a letter that I’m writing for the people who are trying to learn to love again,” he adds. ‘People are definitely going to expect more music from me moving forward, and they’ll just have to keep on following my music journey to find out more.”

Gab Cabangon’s “Pieces” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide.

"FALL IN YOUR ARMS"
OUT TODAY ON RED BULL RECORDS

September 15th, 2025 – Standout R&B artist James Vickery, today releases his superb new studio album 'JAMES.' on Red Bull Records. Fans can stream the album here.

Alongside the album is also the arrival of brand-new single “Fall In Your Arms” - a simply stunning track, encapsulating the depth and sheer quality of James as an artist. He strips everything away for this tender, heart-rending piano ballad on which Vickery pleads, “I finally feel safe/ ‘cos you’re here by my side. I need it night and day/ And all my problems drift away”.

Also appearing on the album is the suave R&B slow jam “Like That” featuring breakout rapper BIA, and a breathtaking rendition of Aerosmith’s chart-topping hit, “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”. The fan favourite
“Hotel Lobby” was recently featured on Love Island UK.

Joining forces with longtime collaborator JD Reid (Mahalia, Mabel, Sinead Harnett), producer Larrance Dopson (Kendrick Lamar, Ella Mai, Justin Timberlake) and Grammy-nominated LA songwriter/composer Jonah Christian (Beyonce, Normani, Tems), his stunning new album is a remarkably assured statement – one that introduces a whole new sound to his audience. It’s an album Vickery calls his most authentic yet, blending classic R&B, Seventies funk, soul, and the pop sounds of the late Nineties and early 2000s that shaped him. That organic energy is palpable throughout - a bold, emotionally rich statement from an artist fully embracing who he is.

About James Vickery

James Vickery bares his soul in 'JAMES.', a bold, self-titled album that redefines his sound. From the cinematic strings of “Hotel Lobby” to the woozy beat of “Higher”, each track showcases his exceptional voice—one he nearly lost due to a life-threatening ear condition. Diagnosed with cholesteatoma at eight, Vickery was left deaf in one ear, but a vocal coach helped him discover his gift.

His 2021 documentary
Louder explored his journey, including his Welsh and South African heritage and struggles with identity. Once driven by a need for acceptance, Vickery has now embraced his truth: “This is real, it’s me".

“I think my whole career, I was really trying to be accepted by different communities while being afraid that they would reject me,” he says. “I would make music to try and impress people without realising it.” Somewhere along the road, though, he found an inner peace—one that allowed him to fully embrace himself and his artistry.

His career boasts a
COLORS SHOW with nearly 40 million views and collaborations with Musiq Soulchild, EarthGang, and SG Lewis. His independent 'Sheet Music' EP highlighted his versatility, while 'JAMES.' moves beyond strict R&B, blending funk, hip-hop, and pop with producers JD Reid, Larrance Dopson, and Jonah Christian.

Tracks like “Hotel Lobby” groove on bossa nova rhythms, while “Butter”, originally meant for another artist, became a heartfelt confession of yearning. “Right Side” disguises his hearing loss as a love song, and “Higher” channels ‘80s synth-pop with dazzling vocal runs. The album’s finale, “Fall In Your Arms”, is a raw, orchestral ballad closing the emotional journey.

“This is the most authentic version of me,” Vickery says. Seamlessly merging classic R&B, ‘70s funk, and early 2000s pop,
'JAMES.' cements him as a fearless artist with a sound uniquely his own.

Now with over
200 million+ career streams James continues to gain traction globally — with 🇵🇭 the Philippines at #7 and 🇮🇩 Indonesia at #10 on his Top 10 streaming markets globally!

Singer, songwriter, and producer Cavetown, the moniker of UK-born Robin Skinner, has announced his forthcoming album Running With Scissors, set for release on January 16 via Futures Music Group. Alongside the announcement, he has shared the shimmering new single and video “Rainbow Gal,” a synth-laced love song inspired by his relationship. The track, built on 8-bit textures and glitchy vocals, reflects the grounding comfort his partner brings to him even from afar. “‘Rainbow Gal’ is like a light display turned into a song, she brings all the color into my life,” says Skinner.

Cavetown has grown from uploading songs in his Cambridge bedroom to becoming one of the most beloved voices of his generation, amassing billions of streams and six RIAA Platinum singles. His music, ranging from intimate lo-fi beginnings to expansive indie-pop, has offered solace to millions worldwide. Along the way, he’s built a global community, played major festivals like Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and Lollapalooza, and toured with artists including AJR, Pierce the Veil, and Mother Mother.

If his past music created a sanctuary, Running With Scissorsasks: what happens when you step outside of that room and look yourself squarely in the eye? What are the gifts and curses inherited from family, and which parts do you carry forward or cut away? Written on the other side of a two-year healing process, the album finds Skinner older, braver, and galvanized, shading his trademark softness with rawer emotions without losing sight of the millions of fans who have grown up alongside him. “I want them to enter this new era with me and not feel like it’s for kids. Because I’m not a kid anymore,” he says. “I want it to feel like we’re moving forward together.”

The release of “Rainbow Gal” follows Cavetown’s recent single “Baby Spoon,” paired with its intimate, dreamlike video. Threaded with intergenerational tension, familial excavation, and love both soft and fierce, the songs on Running WithScissors mirror Skinner’s recent life changes, including falling in love with the person he wants to start a family with and the birth of his first sibling, with whom he shares a 26-year age gap.

On Running With Scissors, the album unfolds as a sweeping reflection on growth, identity, and the beauty of coming into one’s own. Cavetown uses intimate storytelling to explore themes of love, masculinity, vulnerability, and connection, while also turning toward the heavier realities of anxiety, self-doubt, and navigating life as a trans artist. Threaded throughout is a sense of reimagining adulthood, grappling with family, memory, and the process of self-parenting. Acoustic melodies and field recordings collide with hyperpop glitches and math-rock textures; whispers break into screams; and Skinner’s voice, once a stream of gentle murmur, now stretches and snaps with newfound range. “I wanted to make myself sound more brave,” he says. “And I wanted to impress people with my voice, like, ‘wow, he’s actually got some pipes.’”

Beyond his music, Cavetown continues to champion causes close to his heart. His This Is Home initiative has raised over $650,000 for LGBTQ+ organizations, further cementing his role not only as a musician but as a community builder.

“Rainbow Gal” and “Baby Spoon” are available now on all streaming platforms. Running With Scissors arrives January 16.
