Alex Bruce relives romantic encounter in reggae-inspired bop “SUMFLING”
The release of the track is accompanied by a music video shot in La Union

Alex Bruce returns with another inescapable jam that best describes the feeling of laid-back summer afternoons and beach vibes.
The Filipina recording star channels her idyllic youthful phase in the new single “SUMFLING,” out today via Sony Music Entertainment.
With suave vocals coasting through laid-back R&B beats and reggae-infused production, “SUMFLING” showcases another side of Bruce: warm and chill on the inside, but effortlessly catching our attention with her distinct brand of charm.
According to Bruce, “SUMFLING” allowed her to experiment with a variety of genres and confront her fears of going against the current.
“It was my decision to embrace that shift in sound and vibe,” Alex Bruce shares. “I’ve always wanted to explore new musical landscapes for every project that I work on, and I’m glad that in SUMFLING, I get to bring a fresh, laid-back energy to my music. It sounds chill but danceable at the same time. It was a refreshing change that challenged me as an artist.”
“SUMFLING is an expression that I made up by combining the words summer and fling,” recalls the 17-year-old hip-hop sensation. “I was in Australia when I wrote this track. Life was very peaceful there, and somehow it inspired me to go on a writing spree.”
The tropical track revisits a memorable romantic encounter with someone during a holiday break.
Its release comes with a music video directed by David Olson. The MV follows Alex Bruce and her friends on a trip to La Union while enjoying nature hangouts, surfing sessions, and summertime conversations.
The visual narrative also shows Bruce meeting a random person on a bonfire, with the two romantically hitting it off for a few days straight and getting confused with their feelings for each other.
Bruce reveals, “We wanted the music video to reflect the overall vibe of the song. Summer is supposed to be about being outdoors, having fun, and feeling great about yourself, and this song perfectly captures that. I’m also happy that I’ve worked with my friends syd, Aira, Violet, and Thomas for the MV shoot. This will always have a special place in my heart.”
Alex Bruce’s “SUMFLING” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. The music video will be out on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 6 p.m.Watch it here.

TIMELESS TOUR KICKS OFF THIS FALL
TICKETS HERE
June 7, 2024 (Los Angeles, CA) - It’s finally here! GRAMMY® Award-winning hitmaker Meghan Trainor has released her sixth full-length album, Timeless. The 16-track record is pop perfection, complete with ballads, bops, and everything in between! Listen to Timeless HERE.
On the new album, Meghan shares, “Timeless is finally yours and I still can't believe it!! This album means so much to me! I got to work with so many incredible people to bring this album to life, and I’m so grateful for all of them and all the fans for showing so much excitement over it. I can’t wait to play these songs for you on the Timeless Tour! I’ll try not to cry every night with happy tears.”
Meghan gave fans an early taste of Timeless with three iconic songs - “Been Like This” with T-Pain, “To The Moon,” and most recently “I Wanna Thank Me” feat. Niecy Nash. The songs highlight Meghan’s knack for production and songwriting, from the doo-wop inspired (and incredibly catchy) anthem “Been Like This,” to the bass-infused splendor of “To The Moon.” Meghan is kicking off release week with a performance on the TODAY Show Citi Concert Series, followed by appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on June 11 and June 12, respectively.
Meghan’s vulnerability shines through on powerful tracks like “Forget How To Love,” where she condemns those who lack empathy as a choir echoes her sentiment. Meanwhile, playfullybiting track “Whoops” proves that Meghan is talented enough to nail a breakup song even though she and husband Daryl Sabara are couple goals. Title track “Timeless” beautifully encapsulates the sentiments of the record as it comes to a close, with Meghan vowing that even though life doesn’t last forever, her love will never fade.
Along with the new album, Meghan has released a brand-new crewneck that’s perfect for celebrating the Timeless era. Fans can purchase select music products and apparel on Meghan-Trainor.com, including the Timeless Transparent Light Blue Vinyl, with exclusive variants available at select retailers including a Timeless Sapphire Vinyl exclusively on Meghan’s TikTok Shop, a Timeless Amazon Exclusive Vinyl, a Target Exclusive Timeless CD (with bonus track “Bite Me”), and a Walmart Exclusive Timeless CD with an alternate cover.

ATARASHII GAKKO! (literally meaning “new school” in Japanese) are a group of four young women who are redefining what it means to be a girl group. They wear sailor-fuku (sailor suits) uniforms in a style that were worn by Japanese students back in the 70s and 80s with long skirts and pulled-up socks, and staunchly refuse to be objectified. Their aggressive and expressive dance moves, which they choreograph themselves, are a hybrid of the energy of Japanese butoh dance, heavy metal headbanging, and hip-hop street dancing. Musically, AG! She brings together elements of modern J-Pop, Showa-era kayokyoku, rap, punk, dance music, but it would be pointless to try to categorize them in any genre. Their global reach is undeniable, with their theatrical music promoting individuality and self-expression transcending language and cultural barriers. After a highly successful year of firsts, with a debut on U.S. television with “Tokyo Calling” on Jimmy Kimmel Live and a TikTok of the same track joined by Megan Thee Stallion, ATARASHII GAKKO! are primed for their farthest-reaching album yet.

The Ransom Collective's Muri releases new single "Afternoon"
The violinist-singer/songwriter expresses cultural adjustments in sophisticated jazz-pop number
London-based, Filipino indie-pop artist Muri releases “Afternoon,” the first official single off her upcoming debut EP.
The track chronicles the adjustments of living in a new, unfamiliar place away from home, something that the Filipino singer-songwriter has dealt with in recent years after deciding to pack her bags and pursue a music career in Europe.
“I was constantly comparing here and home, which created this sometimes dark cloud of bitterness, desolation, and frustration, without really realizing that that was an unhealthy thing to do,” tells Muri, the violinist-singer of Philippine-based indie-folk collective The Ransom Collective. “And it really takes a lot out of you, until you realize you can redefine your own reality for yourself. Afternoon is kind of that journey. Both the dark, and the good that you find when you lean into it differently. Whether that’s realizing there’s something, someone, you’re missing, whatever it is that may have given comfort and is now gone. And then finally learning to see what or who is in front of you that shifts your whole perspective.”
Muri penned “Afternoon” and collaborated with rising French producer Sacha Arnaud, whom she met and connected with in Paris over a cup of coffee. The promising newcomer admits that she reached out to Arnaud after seeing a video of his performance online.
“It was an interesting process because it was our first time working together,” says Muri. “And the process kind of also reflects my nomadic life. We’d exchanged files remotely between France and Italy and had mixed-in-person sessions in Paris and in the countryside outside of Lyon. We must have worked on this song in at least four different locations.”
Complementing her confessional songwriting style with a vignette of soothing soundscapes and luscious melodies, “Afternoon” showcases a more vulnerable side of Muri. The soul-infused, jazzy pop tune documents her bouts with uncertainty as she figures out her own place in a world that gets bigger and bigger by the day.
The Awit Award-nominee reveals, “It feels like also opening my world to listeners: Who I am from the Philippines, and who I’ve grown to be here in Europe. Who we are or can be, when we shed skin, or discover new perspectives. What the music captures at this moment of time, and who I’m collaborating with. Hints of my old identity, and taking on new ones as an artist. This song was written more from the heart than the mind with raw feelings and thoughts.”
Muri’s “Afternoon” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide.

CHINESE POP SUPERSTAR XIN LIU RELEASES NEW SINGLE “WALLS” VIA 88RISING
“WALLS” FOLLOWS THE RELEASE OF HER
ENGLISH-LANGUAGE DEBUT “REALITY”
On the heels of the release of her English-language debut single “Reality,” singer, dancer, producer and Chinese superstar XIN LIU releases new song, “Walls,” out now via 88rising. With its electronic and psychedelic elements and clearly defined rhythm, the song expresses the process of gradually breaking free from inner confinement.
Listen/Share: “Walls”:
XIN LIU is the #1 female pop artist in China with over 7 million albums sold, 25M followers on Weibo and a sold-out arena tour. She debuted both “Walls” and “Reality” on stage during her widely-praised Coachella set last month as part of the 88rising Futures set in a thrilling performance that paid homage to her Chinese roots. XIN's participation in the showcase not only made her the first solo Chinese female artist to perform at Coachella but also marked her debut on the global stage, introducing her as a rising superstar to the world.
A Chinese brand ambassador for such brands including Dior and Bacardi, XIN LIU has graced the cover of outlets across Asia including VOGUE, Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, NYLON and more. Most recently, XIN LIU performed at the opening of the Olympics Qualifier Series in Shanghai this month.
About XIN LIU:
XIN LIU is not only one of the biggest artists to emerge from China in recent years, but she's also the most intriguing. An artist who's created a name for herself not only as a singer, but as a dancer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and fashion icon. An artist whose hook-laden, genre-splicing pop is eminently danceable, but also impressively wide-ranging: she can deliver emotive ballads with the same ease as her vocals on a gritty, trap hi-hat banger. Her talents, along with her instantly recognizable, effortless androgynous style, have landed her on the covers of Vogue China, Harper's Bazaar, and GQ, as well as a coveted spot as the brand ambassador of Dior China. Add to this mix her compelling live shows and you can see why XIN has won herself a legion of fans to the tune of 26+ million followers on socials and 2.05+ million on streaming platforms, and she's just getting started. Hailing from Guiyang, China, XIN LIU has carved out her path by breaking the traditional mold of Chinese female artists. She first rose to fame in 2020 after winning the Chinese reality show "Youth With You 2" and her 2021 debut album broke platform sales records in China, with over 7 million albums sold.
About 88rising:
88rising is a pioneering global music and media company representing the best of Asian talent. Since its inception, 88rising has paved the way for many music industry firsts: the Asian artist to top the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts, Spotify’s Weekly Global Albums chart and enter the top 10 on Mediabase’s Top 40 chart, the first to launch an all-Asian radio channel in North America, and the first and only record label to have a main stage slot at Coachella. 88rising is also most notably the first company to present an Asian-centric music festival in the United States, Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival, now in partnership with powerhouse promoter Goldenvoice. The festival expanded globally, for the first time, to Jakarta, Indonesia and Manila, Philippines in 2022. In 2023, the festival also expanded domestically from the flagship location in Pasadena, CA to Queens for the inaugural Head In The Clouds New York. In 2021, 88rising executive produced and curated the soundtrack to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - Marvel Studios’ first Asian-American superhero. Previously, in 2019, 88rising was awarded Label of the Year by NetEase, one of China's largest music streaming platforms. With over 160 million followers across global social media platforms and over 50 billion total streams and views, 88rising’s global influence is undeniable.

Rampa Manila 2: Celebrating Filipino Fashion Innovation in the Heart of Manila City
Manila City reaffirms its status as the Philippines' fashion hub with the highly anticipated return of Rampa Manila 2. Themed "Textile, Texture, and Technique," this event promises to spotlight the profound influences of Divisoria Marketplace on Filipino fashion. Spearheaded by Mayor Sheila "Honey" Lacuna, Rampa Manila 2 is a testament to the city's commitment to celebrating and promoting local talent.
Mayor Lacuna emphasized the importance of utilizing Manila-sourced materials, urging both seasoned veterans and emerging designers to innovate and elevate Filipino fashion. She stated, "Layunin nating itaas ang industriya ng pananamitsa Maynila at iwagayway ang bandera ng kalidad at husay ng industriyang ito." This sentiment underscores the event's mission to showcase the best of Filipino creativity and craftsmanship.
Rampa Manila 2 boasts a stellar lineup of designers. Expect to see established names like Anthony Ramirez, Neric Beltran, Val Taguba, Marc Rancy, and Jhobes Estrella alongside rising talents Morissette Magalona, Dhenyze Guevara, and Joanna Santos.
Before flaunting their dazzling collections on the main stage of Rampa, the designers ruminated on the influences of both Manila and Divisoria on their respective careers.
Notable Filipino fashion designer Neric Beltran shared, “Manila plays an important role in any designer’s career because we source our fabrics locally, especially from Divisoria. I would like to think that most, if not all, of us like to source from Divisoria, that’s why I think these places are very important.” Self-made fashion icon and designer Anthony Ramirez shared the same sentiments. He recalled his go-to area in Divisoria back when he was a budding designer, a street widely known in the fashion community, “There’s a street there called Palakpak, which exists to this day. If you’re a young designer building your collection, Palakpak should be your go-to because everything there is affordable,” said Ramirez.
Reflecting on the event's significance, designers shared their experiences with Divisoria, highlighting its role in their creative journeys. From sourcing fabrics to finding inspiration, Divisoria has been instrumental in shaping their careers.
Rampa Manila 2 not only celebrates Filipino culture and talent but also pays homage to the city of Manila and its vibrant marketplace. It serves as a platform to showcase Manila's rich history and exceptional materials, reinforcing its position as the country's fashion capital. Get ready to witness the intersection of tradition and innovation on June 19th at Bulwagang Rodriguez as Rampa Manila 2 takes center stage.

Breakout artist Dhruv announces release of debut album, Private Blizzard
New song “Speed of Light” out now!
Private Blizzard, the debut album from breakout vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dhruv, is slated for release August 23 via Little Worry/RCA Records.
Recorded in Nashville with Grammy-nominated producer JT Daly(Noah Kahan, Bully, Benson Boone), Private Blizzard reflects the full range of emotions Dhruv felt as he set out to make his debut album from a place of creative honesty. “I started in a place of numbness, and I didn’t really understand why I felt that way,” Dhruv shares. “The songs that I started out with were trying to help me unpack that feeling. The further along I got, I started feeling better—I just felt lighter.”
Allowing intuition to guide him more than in the past, Dhruv focused on developing his vocal range to give himself a larger canvas to express his changing emotions. From a sonic perspective, he and Daly worked together to arrive at a sound that incorporates classic live elements while retaining a modern feel. The result is an album that, above all else, feels true to Dhruv.
Aside from the announcement of the upcoming album release, Dhruv has also debuted a “Speed of Light,” a new song from his forthcoming album. “‘Speed of Light’ is about this ‘limbo state’ of being heartbroken over someone who clearly had no trouble moving on from the relationship,” Dhruv shares.
“Speed of Light” follows previous album offerings “How?” and “Tragedy,” Dhruv’s first new music of 2024 which he performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for his late night T.V. debut in February. Additionally, Dhruv performed a sold-out headline show at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre last night, following a sold-out headline show in London and a performance at New York’s Head In The Clouds Festival earlier this month.
Born and raised in Singapore and of Indian descent, Dhruv’s fascination with music dates back to the age of five, hearing Bollywood soundtracks on the T.V. at his grandmother’s house. After years of writing songs privately, he put his studies at Yale on hold to make a go of music in earnest and began producing from his bedroom.
Dhruv burst into the spotlight after his 2019 single “double take” exploded globally, racking up hundreds of millions of streams worldwide. Soon after, he signed with Little Worry and RCA and, in 2022, he released his debut EP Rapunzel. He’s toured with Joji, sold out headline stops across the U.S. and the U.K. and a handful of dates in Asia in 2023, including two rare headline shows in India. NMEpraised Dhruv for creating “vital, anthemic” pop, while PAPERcelebrated the power of his “intimate love songs” and CLASH hailed his “open and completely relatable” songwriting.

Jakarta-born, Los Angeles-based rising star, Warren Hue, continues the rollout of his TUNA mixtape with the release of his new single, “RODEO.” Produced by Warren’s go-to collaborator, Chasu, the mid-2010 inspired track finds Warren at a crossroads, this time on Rodeo Drive. A metaphor for his growing success and its consequences, “RODEO” details how Warren wants to impress his partner with his new lifestyle, but wonders if she still finds him likable or cool. “It’s a battle between if she still finds excitement in my lifestyle in LA or not and if I’m able to maintain it,” Warren shared. “The writing process took me an hour to make the verse and the chorus idea had been around for a year. I recently revisited it because it made sense with the universe of my mixtape.” “RODEO” was first teased at the end of the music video for Warren’s previous single, “SPLIT,” and debuted live during his set at Head In The Clouds Festival in New York. While in New York, Warren was a guest on popular video platform, On The Radar Radio, where he gave another impressive performance of the track. In tandem with the single’s official release today, Warren delivered a picturesque performance video, hosted by 88rising. Warren Hue was recently featured on Good Morning America, detailing his journey as a pioneering Asian artist. He made great contributions to 88rising’s latest music endeavor, 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE, where he contributed to five tracks on the recent album, hella (˃╭̣ ╮˂̣)✧♡‧o· ̊, alongside Offset, Amaarae, De La Soul, Cuco and MILLI earlier this year. As a fixture in the 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE music collective, Warren has continued to push his music in exciting new directions and usher new fans into 88rising’s world. This May, 88rising memorialized 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE with an immersive art experience at the iconic Mercer Labs in New York City where dynamic light shows and soundscape listening sessions brought a new sensory experience to the project.
Warren Hue has catapulted from hometown hero to international sensation in less than two years since making his artist debut with his album, BOY OF THE YEAR, in the summer of 2022. His most conceptual project to date, BOY OF THE YEAR, which included features from tobi lou and yvngxchris, displayed Warren’s versatility and starpower. Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia and now based in Los Angeles, the Gen Z star has run up an impressive highlight reel, including being named one of Forbes Asia 30 Under 30, all prior to turning 21. He has also been named one of “NME 100: Essential Emerging Artists” for 2022, one of the “18 Emerging Artists To Watch Out For In 2022” by Bandwagon, and one of the “25 Artists To Watch In 2022” by Ones To Watch. His biggest accolades include his recent features on the album, Hella, released earlier this year, with the music collective 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE, which brought together the industry’s biggest names, such as Offset, Rick Ross, Ghostface Killah, Busta Rhymes and more. Warren was also featured in four songs on Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi & the Legend of the Ten Rings official soundtrack and has partnered with brands like Honda, GUESS, Samsung and Microsoft. Warren made his Coachella debut during the Head in the Clouds Forever 2022 set. Last year, he performed at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, opened for Rich Brian’s sold out arena tour (10k fans per stop) in China, and was on the line-up for both Head in the Clouds Festivals in New York and Los Angeles. This summer, he will be returning to the festival in New York. A multi-hyphenate artist, Warren draws his inspiration from niche art forms to create his ever-evolving sound. From R&B to house, electronic, alternative hip-hop and industrial genres, Warren is unafraid to explore and veer towards the unconventional, while sharing his journey of self-discovery. His latest offers, “TENNESSEE” and “SPLIT,” detail Warren’s growing confidence as a star in the making.
