dwta yearns for the comfort of someone she calls home on new single “Pauwi Na 'Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang)”
The catchy, stripped-down track showcases the best of both Filipino and Bicolano language, lovingly combined to express her authentic storytelling style
Dwta (stylistically spelled as dwta), or JhasmineVillanueva in real life, has released her new single “PauwiNa 'Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang)” via Sony Music Entertainment.
The upbeat pop track expresses the breakthrough star’s excitement of going back home and experiencing a love filled with comfort and security. Written as a paean to her hometown and as a love letter to the person she considers her greatest confidante, “Pauwi Na 'Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang)” showcases dwta’s earnest songwriting style, which combines Filipino and Bicolano language to convey a narrative that is both inclusive and personal.
“Since I speak both languages fluently, why not just mix them?,” dwta reflects. "When they hear a Bikol verse, it instantly transports those who don't understand Bikol into a different world, creating a magical feeling. It’s like letting them experience Bicol through the song.”
The track stands out with the acclaimed folk-pop artist’s ability to turn sharp-witted and conversational lines into a compelling piece of storytelling—a signature quality that’s present in most, if not the majority, of her songs.
According to dwta, she penned the stripped-down tune the night before going back to Bicol. Inspired by her yearning to return home to be with her loved ones and family, Jhasmine picked up a guitar and started writing the song. In less than two hours, she was able to finish “Pauwi Na 'Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang)” with an effortlessly charming arrangement that blends acoustic elements with pop and bossa nova influences.
“Pauwi Na 'Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang) is a song where not only the lyrics but also the melody tells a story,” the young singer-songwriter reveals. “It transports you back home or into the arms of your loved ones. The song talks about the feeling of wanting to go home or just wanting that person beside you wherever you go forever; the excitement of seeing your loved ones or tasting their home-cooked meals. This feeling was what I felt upon writing the song.”
“Pauwi Na 'Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang)” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

SB19’s Stell was also ecstatic about sharing how game-changing the entire experience was. “It was something new for the group. We appreciate the chance to delve into new genres and production styles that come with unfamiliar territory. But with Apl.de.Ap at the helm of the creative process, we’re just blessed to take on this assignment. It’s not every day that you get to work with an artist you look up to.”

Performing “Too Much Of A Good Thing”, the lead single from her upcoming third studio album Buzz, NIKI captivated the audience with her mesmerizing vocals and dynamic stage presence alongside her live band.
This appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! marks a historic moment not only for NIKI herself but also for the global representation of Indonesian artists on the international stage.

“Too Much Of A Good Thing”, released on May 3rd, is a flirty track infused with sardonic, all-too-honest lyrics that effortlessly convey the feelings that come with having a new crush. Set to sinewy bass guitar and a steady beat, NIKI starts off by professing,“Well, you look like you’re gonna break my heart /and I look like a tough shot in the dark on a good day.” The song is notably co-produced with NIKI’s friend and producer Ethan Gruska, who previously penned songs with the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver, Kimbra, and more.
NIKI’s upcoming album Buzz , slated for release on August 9th, reverberates with the hard-earned wisdom of a young woman who charges dauntlessly towards her dreams — but can still spare a laugh if she stumbles. Enlisting producers who had worked with her favorite contemporary singer-songwriters such as Tyler Chester, who’d captured tracks with Madison Cunningham and Sara Bareilles; she also recruited Ethan Gruska, who counts Fiona Apple and Phoebe Bridgers as collaborators, what surfaced in the album’s wake was a collection of warm, stirring folk-rock songs, which crackle and flare like a bonfire between close confidantes.

Keiko Necesario - “Kahit Pa Anong Mangyari”
More photos here
Filipino indie singer-songwriter Keiko Necesario findsrenewed strength in love and spirituality amidst unjust social conditions on her new single “Kahit Pa Anong Mangyari,” out on all digital streaming platforms worldwide this Friday, May 31, 2024.
The irresistible pop-rock confessional shows Keiko’sresilience and vulnerability in disarmingly bold ways as she chronicles her story of overcoming a challenging season in her married life—thanks to God and her husband, who never left her side during a tumultuous ordeal.
According to Keiko, she penned the track at a time when she and her partner struggled to make ends meet while reflectingon what truly matters for her and between them.
“Last year, it came to a point when we only had 700 pesos in our bank account, and we had to figure out what to do because there were bills to pay and other things to think about,” shares the multi-talented solo artist. “During that difficult time, we chose to have faith because we knew and believed that seasons come and go. God was, and is our provider, so because of that whole experience, I got to write and finish the song.”
Keiko Necessario wrote and co-produced the song, with her bassist Charles Bautista assisting with the overall production. Capturing a pivotal change in both her sound and sonic perspective, Keiko delivers a sterling earworm that isn’t afraid to share a piece of her with the public, no matter how imperfect and devoid it is of rosy disposition. This time around, she wants to celebrate her newfound courage through a track that sees optimism and joy even in the darkest of situations.
With its pulsating guitar riffs, melodic arrangements, and charismatic songwriting, “Kahit Pa Anong Mangyari” brings music fans to the glory days of late ‘90s and early 2000s OPM alternative rock where female-fronted bands ruled the airwaves. Made more exciting with her newfound chops and contemporary acoustic leanings, Keiko turns nostalgic pieces into fodder for inspiration and finds new ways to make them her own.
The indie folk/pop recording artist reveals, “The process was just so much fun because I honestly love spending time in the studio and getting lost in choosing the right elements for a new song. Working with Charles as a co-producer is a refreshing kind of experience because he’s so excellent, and what I love about working with him is that he’s always present and focused. I already told him this and even mentioned it to my husband: that I appreciate Charles’ work ethic because, as busy as he is with other musicians and other things in his life, when you work with him, it’s as if he’s not doing anything else.”
Keiko will be launching her new song live at the Brewing Point Music Lounge in Fisher Parkway, Quezon City on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 7:00pm onwards. Tickets are available here. The event will include performances by Keiko Necesario, and special guests: Barbie Almalbis, Janine Tenoso, Clara Benin, and Cheenee Gonzalez.

24-MEMBER GIRL GROUP TRIUMPHS WITH THEIR UNIQUE MEGA-GROUP STRATEGY

After a two-year journey of assembly, tripleS, sensational 24-member K-Pop girl group is now complete, making waves with their groundbreaking mega-group strategy (second in terms of group size to boy group NCT), with the release of their highly anticipated debut full-length album ASSEMBLE24 on May 8th to the excitement of their global fandom named WAV.
Navigating the intricacies of music show activities with such a large group has presented challenges, from coordinating transportation logistics to managing wardrobe as well as makeup and styling, the members have risen to the occasion with finesse and sheer determination, working alongside their management and glam teams.
With synchronised group choreography and dynamic performances by the members, tripleS captivated fans with their versatility and charisma. The fruits of the group’s labour are evident in their recent achievements. Lead track “Girls Never Die” surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify in a mere three days of its release and the accompanying music video has garnered over 7 million views in just eight days. ASSEMBLE24recorded remarkable sales of 150,000 copies in the first week of its release and secured the ninth spot in initial album sales among girl groups this year, according to the Hanteo chart. The crowning moment came on May 14th when tripleS clinched their first music show trophy on SBS M The Show, a testament to their fandom’s dedicated and unwavering support, whom pioneer member Yoon SeoYeon expressed heartfelt gratitude towards during her acceptance speech on behalf of the girl group.
Under the visionary leadership of CEO Jaden Jeong, who was instrumental in the conceptualisation of popular girl group LOONA, K-Pop agency Modhaus embarked on an ambitious project to build the largest girl group in South Korea in 2022 that cost over 10 billion won to produce. The members (born between 2001 and 2010) are of diverse nationalities, ethnicities and backgrounds - 17 Korean members, 4 Japanese, 1 Taiwanese-Vietnamese, 1 Chinese and 1 Thai - bringing a unique flair to the ensemble. From the revelation of Yoon SeoYeon as the first member in 2022 to the unveiling of JiYeon as the final addition to tripleS’ lineup has been nothing short of remarkable.
Embracing innovation, Modhaus adopted a unique operational method that empowers fans to actively participate in tripleS’ activities. Through the COSMO app, fans have a say in concepts, the formation of members in a unit, title song selection, thus fostering a sense of community and collaboration. Voting rights are obtained by purchasing Blockchain NFT-based merchandise such as member photocards called ‘Objekts’, and revenue from these sales directly contributes to the members’ income, independent of Modhaus’ investments. This decentralised approach, reminiscent of Japan’s AKB48 popularity-based voting system, brought about the formation of distinct units (known as ‘Dimensions’), including AAA, +(KR)ystal Eyes, Acid Eyes, LOVElution, EVOLution, NXT and Aria, from the outset of tripleS’ journey. The group members are enthusiastic and excited for the fan-driven future under this evolved system where they will have equal opportunities when fans are instrumental in shaping the group’s direction, redefining the boundaries of fan engagement in the K-Pop landscape.
Looking ahead, tripleS is poised to debut and captivate audiences across Japan, partnering with Sony Music’s SME Records, with joint oversight from SM Entertainment’s Japanese subsidiary Stream Media Corporation and Ligareaz. Jaden Jeong, CEO of Modhaus, stated, "The partnership between SMC and Ligareaz for tripleS's activities in Japan is a recognition that the evolved fan engagement method proposed by Modhaus and the achievements made through it can also succeed in the Japanese market. We expect that tripleS's music and system will be well-loved by Japanese fans, who are already familiar with fan-participatory idols and voting systems."
tripleS is gearing up for an exciting world tour slated to kick off in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Ransom Collective’s Muri teases the release of her newest single “Afternoon” ahead of her debut EP
The violinist/singer-songwriter sets sight on dropping her first solo EP this year
The Ransom Collective’s Muri is slated to drop “Afternoon,” the first single off her upcoming debut EP to be released this year.
The Filipino singer-songwriter and violinist teased the project’s date of release on her social media accounts, along with the song title.
According to Muriel Gonzales, “Afternoon” was inspired by her personal experiences as a young woman navigating career and life challenges entirely on her own, in a country far away from home.
“I’ve been working on this song for quite a while,” she admits. “Without revealing too much about the creative and thought process behind Afternoon, I actually find it freeing to open up about being vulnerable and share a piece of myself through songwriting. Sometimes, expressing what you really feel helps you gain a deeper understanding of yourself as a person and as an artist. Making the entire track was both a journey and a reflection. I can’t wait to share it with the rest of the world.”
Currently based in London and Paris, Muri is working on her solo EP, with plans to perform her new material in Europe and Asia sometime this year.
Muri is best known for her work with indie folk collective The Ransom Collective as a violinist and singer. As a solo artist, she has earned a nomination for Wishclusive Contemporary R&B Performance of the Year at the prestigious Wish Awards and Favorite Female Artist at the 35th Awit Awards for her pre-debut 2022 single “Letters.” In the subsequent year, she collaborated with electronic producer LUSTBASS on a remix of "Thunder," which garnered a nomination for Best Remix Recording at the 36th AwitAwards, the Philippines' equivalent of the Grammys.

Hear James Reid’s emotional ballad, “Hurt Me Too”
The stripped-down track serves as his first release under Sony Music Entertainment
Filipino music superstar James Reid is the latest addition to the growing Sony Music Entertainment family, which counts the likes of SB19, Ben&Ben, Denise Julia, O SIDE MAFIA, and Clara Benin as part of its elite roster.
As a key figure in contemporary pop and R&B music in the Philippines for more than a decade, James Reid has gifted music fans around the world with compelling jams that transcend eras and generations. With chart-topping records, sold-out tours, and well-received brand campaigns under his belt, the music mogul, actor, and singer-songwriter continue to strike a balance between commercial viability and artistic independence, ensuring that there’s a place for artists like him in the mainstream music scene, who don’t need to pander to existing trends for a hit.
For his first project under Sony Music Entertainment, James Reid explores the theme of being heartbroken in the new single “Hurt Me Too.” A stripped-down ballad that packs an emotional punch, “Hurt Me Too” finds him grappling with the realities of a heartbreak.
The Tim Marquez-produced track shows James at his most vulnerable, looking back at the ghost of his past with equal moments of fondness and pain.
“I wrote the song three years ago together with Seth Reger, an artist from LA,” the talented multi-hyphenate shares. “He really helped me tap into these emotions that I didn’t even know I was feeling at that moment.”
According to the Randomantic act, “Hurt Me Too” marks a significant shift in his sonic and lyrical direction—a crucial decision that he admits, would define the next phase of his music era. This time around, the focus is more on the storytelling aspect of his music-making: unearthing old wounds and memories, and turning them into an inspiring piece of work.
He explains, “For this next album I’m working on, I wanted to focus on the core of who I am as a songwriter with minimal but intentional music production. Hurt Me Too is like a palate cleanser for me in a way that it introduces a change in sound and direction.”
The heartfelt tune will be accompanied by a music video release helmed by Elena Virata, a close friend of James. “The concept was simple but powerful, focusing on unreleased emotions and frustrations,” the award-winning recording star adds.
James Reid’s “Hurt Me Too” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
