SB19βs Josh Cullen drops official remix of βGet Right,β featuring Filipino rapper Yuridope
P-Pop star Josh Cullen joins forces with Filipino rapper Yuridope for the official remix of βGet Right.β
Instantly hitting it off with undeniable chemistry, the duo rocked the remix with an insatiable drive to flip the beat, get the verses turned up, and deliver a performance that is equally compelling as the original.
βIβve been eyeing a remix for 'Get Right' with a local artist, and boom, Yuridope pops up,β the lead rapper and vocalist of SB19 reveals. βThe dude is not just talented; he is genuine. And that verse of his? It was like he blinked and boom, and it was done. Literal na naglabada lang. (He literally washed it out).β
The remix treatment serves as a collaborative effort with multi-talented producer Cursebox, who brought a reinvigorating spin to the source material and helped Josh realize his vision. The result is an inter-genre tweak that pushes the envelope forward as far as production is concerned.
Josh recounts, βCursebox deconstructed the beat, experimenting with sounds and rhythms to breathe new life into the track. Throughout the process, we provided feedback, ensuring the arrangement aligned with our vision. In the end, Cursebox's unique touch added depth to the song, elevating it to new heights while respecting its roots."
Serving as a gateway to bridge the gap between hip-hop enthusiasts and his captured market, the reimagining of βGet Rightβ provides an exciting opportunity to introduce new elements to the music while also inviting fans from different genres to experience Joshβs sound in a fresh light.
Josh adds, βThis collaboration opens doors to new connections and possibilities, enriching our musical journey and expanding our reach. And with this remix, we're kicking off a larger journey, pioneering a unique sub-genre I'd like to call βhip-pop,β which promises to bring even more innovation and excitement to the music scene.β
βGet Rightβ finds the SB19 rapper and vocalist embracing his music journey while navigating the challenges of making a dent in a highly competitive industry as a solo act. The original version was written and helmed by Josh Cullen himself, with collaborators Ocho the Bullet andUK-based indie icon No Rome assisting with the production.
Josh Cullen and Yuridopeβs remix of βGet Rightβ is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

Popular love team Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin star in NOBITA's "Tayo Na Lang" music video
The popular loveteam known as βFranSethβ was the bandβs unanimous pick for the leads
Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin take center stage asfriends who secretly like each other in the music video of NOBITAβs βTayo Na Lang,β out today via Sony Music Entertainment.
This marks the second time that the popular loveteam known as βFranSethβ has starred in a music video, following their much-buzzed stint as a young couple inAce Banzueloβs viral hit βMuliβ in 2022.
According to MV director Jeff Valencia, Francine and Seth were unanimously the first choice of the band for this project.
βThe members of NOBITA are fans of Franseth,β Valencia reveals. βBut more than their preference, thereβs something about Francine and Seth that exudes both chemistry and enigma. It felt like the song was specifically written for them. Thatβs how good and natural their performance was.β
Set in a slumber party with a group of friends enjoying a fun-filled nightcap, the visual narrative fits perfectly with the songβs heartfelt earnestness and feel-good vibe, but takes a different turn towards the end.
βThe plot twist is something that is non-negotiable on our part,β shares lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist JaesonFelisimino. βThe journey matters the most, for sure, but thereβs so much weight in the things that we least expect. Weβre grateful to our friend Jeff Valencia for turning our vision into a reality.β
Just in time for the Valentine season, NOBITA released βTayo Na Langβ on all digital music platforms at midnight on February 14, 2024. The alt-pop ballad garnered significant attention on the day of its release, with #StreamTAYONALANGonSpotify becoming a trending topic.
βTayo Na Langβ is written by Jaeson Felismino, SamAquino II, and Mark Quintero, with co-production by Brian Lotho. The track sounds classic NOBITA in terms of musicality and arrangement, creating a wonderfully dreamy backdrop that conveys those early days of passion and longing.
βWe just want to make songs that reflect the state that weβre in,β shares NOBITA in a press statement. βWe also care about delivering good songs that stand the test of time. We hope Tayo Na Lang makes the cut and will be remembered as the song that inspired our audience in a positive way.β

MAYA HAWKE ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM CHAOS ANGEL FOR MAY 31
NEW SINGLE βMISSING OUTβ
WATCH VIDEO HERE
(Credit: Trevor Tweeten - download HERE)
Maya Hawke has released βMissing Out,β the first single from her upcoming album, Chaos Angel, to be released May 31st viaMom+Pop. Chaos Angel is the talented multi-hyphenateβs third album and follows the success of lauded sophomore full-length, Moss, which spawned a viral hit in lead single βThΓ©rΓ¨seβ. With production helmed by Moss co-songwriter and collaborator Christian Lee Hutson, and featuring contributions by longstanding collaborators Benjamin Lazar Davis and Will Graefe, Chaos Angel is a deeply beautiful, meditative album about falling in love, fucking it up, and getting back up again.
Still only 25 years old, Maya has received global acclaim for her exquisite songwriting and witty, narrative lyricism. βMissing Outβ is a wry yet poignant song derived from a semester Maya spent living near her brotherβs college campus and partying with his classmates, a belated attempt at the formative college experience she never personally had. The track comes replete with a science-fiction influenced video directed by Alex Ross Perry.

PRE-SAVE βCHAOS ANGELβ HERE
Of the songβs storyline, Maya says, βThere was actually a girl who went to Brown, where my brother goes to college, and we were all going around saying what our wish was for ourselves. She said, I want to write the next great American novel. It was the moment where I felt older than everyone because I laughed so hard. I was like, βYou are so far down the wrong track!β Wish to write a novel. That would be a miracle. Donβt wish to write the next great American novel, thatβs a nightmare! It made me feel I actually am a different place in my life than these people I was around. It totally inspired this whole song.β
Chaos Angel takes the spare, viscerally honest songwriting Maya has made her name on and goes deeper, bolder. Both her most sonically sophisticated and thematically nuanced collection to date, it feels like a culmination. Across these 10 songs, Maya catalogs upheavals, revelations, foibles, and broken promises, all while navigating the patterns we repeat while growing older, wandering astray, and finding our way back to some core understanding of ourselves.
Maya imagined a figure raised to believe they were a god of love, only to move through the world and realize they were instead leaving wreckage and ruin in their wake. After descending into self-loathing, the chaos angel comes to a new conclusion. βOn the journey home, she goes back through all the places she thought she destroyed,β Maya explains. βAnd in the rubble, wonder and beauty and magic grew.β Itβs a parallel to Mayaβs own experience across the album, snapshots leading to a new sense of self. The chaos angel watches over it all β a figure part guardian, part alter-ego, part imaginary friend.
Chaos Angel is also a document of Maya coming more fully into her own as a musician. Many of these tracks are still anchored by acoustic guitar and Mayaβs graceful yet conversational vocals, but their surroundings are more intricate and lush than ever before. β
At first glance, there are scenes just as sad as those on Blush and Moss, but Chaos Angel is an altogether happier album. Through these songs, Maya accepts the cycles we travel, the things we can leave behind and the things that will always be with us, before concluding: βThe only thing to regret is the time Iβve spent regretting.β Thatβs what Chaos Angel became in the end: a portrait of a person, complicated and still searching, but evolving.
Maya Hawke and her band will be performing at Carnegie Hallin New York City as part of the Tibet House Benefit Concerton February 26th alongside Joan Baez, Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson and Maggie Rogers. Tickets are available HERE.

PRAISE FOR MAYA HAWKE:
βThroughout βMoss,β Hawkeβs earnest, sincere lyricism interlocks the public and private, overlapping reality and fiction to reflect how she has had to negotiate both spaces in life.β
βWith a soprano voice like a certain warmth that spills from department store speakers, sheβs established a sound thatβs wholly her own and still blossoming.β
βHawke has blossomed into an increasingly excellent songwriter.β

RECENT PHILIPPINE VISIT INSPIRES MBNEL βJUST LIKE YOUβ RELEASE
Stream βJust Like Youβ- HERE
Watch βJust Like Youβ Music Video- HERE
Taking great inspiration from his most recent visit to his motherland, Filipino-American rap artist MBNel released his latest single βJUST LIKE YOUβ via US label EMPIRE (Tyga, Fireboy DML, Tink, Amber Liu, Alextbh, Afgan).
This new single puts MBNelβs artistry on full display with a unique beat and unapologetic lyrics that perfectly reflects life in Manila for the Filipino masses. In fact, the proud Fil-American rapper features everyday life in the Philippine urban jungle for the songβs official video which was filmed in Manilaβs slums and old railways, with MBNel playfully chilling with Pinoy folks and kids in the streets as a proud tribute to his heritage.
JUST LIKE YOUβs music video shows a rather honest depiction of the hard life that Filipinos living below the poverty line have to deal with, which they resiliently overcome day after day by finding reasons to smile, survive, and thrive even amidst dire situationsβa typical trademark that Filipinos are known for all over the world. It was a strategic choice by MBNel and his team to show this side of the Philippines instead of the countryβs postcard-worthy locations. After all, this particular song is about coming to terms with oneβs not-so-good side and dealing with it head-on instead of sweeping it under the rug.
With lyrics such as βItβs crazy I be praying, but I sin tooβ, the song shows MBNelβs unmistakable Filipino sideβa man who prays (how often do we hear βprayingβ in a rap song?), but is well aware of his sins and makes no attempt to deny them. The line βYou broken (tryinβ to) heal tooβ lets his Pinoy fans know that he empathizes with them, and the song further emphasizes this with the words βI know you damaged, well baby me tooβ in an honest admission by the rapper that heβs no different when it comes to having problems.
"Iβm trying to show that I share some of the same problems that some of my fans might be going through or have been through. This video demonstrates that we are not that different regardless of fame, money or whateverβ, shares MBNel.
The celebrated rapper further shares, βI loved coming back to visit the Philippines; my culture is something Iβd love to keep learning about and now I want to come back and stay longer.β

ATARASHII GAKKO! SAY βHELLOβ ON NEW SINGLE, βHELLO (FROM THE TIGERβS APPRENTICE)β

Tokyo-based and wildly special four-girl progressive pop-group ATARASHII GAKKO!share a euphoric new single, βHELLO (from The Tiger's Apprentice)β via 88rising. On βHELLO (from The Tiger's Apprentice),β ATARASHII GAKKO! embrace an empowered punk-inspired sound with suave lyricism and greetings in several languages, including German, Japanese, Chinese, English, and Spanish. The song is notably a main fixture of the TheTigerβs Apprentice film soundtrack, entitled βThe Tigerβs Apprentice (Music From and Inspired By The Motion Picture),β which features songs from various artists including: ATARASHII GAKKO!, ZHU, Audrey Nuna, Cacien, and more. The new music follows on the heels of a highly successful year and start to 2024. In January they unveiled βToryanse,β a play on the classic Japanese nursery rhyme. Last October, they unveiled βTokyo Calling,β a reflective single about the harsh monotony of daily life in Tokyo which opens with a doomsday-like alarm. It was met with critical acclaim upon release and ATARASHII GAKKO! made their US late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with the song (watch HERE). The group also showcased their inimitable performance style on their first worldwide SEISHUN Tour, which sold out completely in the U.S., and at music festivals like Mexico Cityβs Corona Capital Festival and 88risingβs New York and Los Angeles iterations of the Head In The Clouds Music & Arts Festival. This year ATARASHII GAKKO! plays their first-ever Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with sets onSunday, April 14 and 21.
ATARASHII GAKKO! (literally meaning βnew schoolβ in Japanese) are a group of four young women who are redefining what it means to be a girl group. While most J-Pop female idol groups are known for their squeaky high voices, perfectly synchronized dance moves, feigned images of purity and innocence, and an excessive drive to always be kawaii (cute), AG! isnβt into any of that. They wear sailor-fuku (sailor suits) uniforms in a style that were worn by Japanese students back in the 70s and 80s with long skirts and pulled-up socks, and staunchly refuse to be objectified. Their aggressive and expressive dance moves, which they choreograph themselves, are a hybrid of the energy of Japanese butoh dance, heavy metal headbanging, and hip-hop street dancing. Musically, AG! brings together elements of modern J-Pop, Showa-era kayokyoku, rap, punk, dance music, but it would be pointless to try to categorize them in any genre.

Denise Julia and DENΘ² team up for the first time on R&B jam "don't matter"
The empowering track showcases the duoβs effortlessly sultry side while maintaining their individuality throughout the process.
Filipino R&B stars Denise Julia and DENΘ² link up on the soulful, sultry jam βdonβt matterββout today via Sony Music Entertainment.
The track marks the first time that the two rising phenoms worked together for a music project. In an Instagram post last week, Denise Julia confirmed that the idea of collaborating with each started three years ago, when they were just trying to make it big in the music scene.
Produced by J. Greg, Duaneinsane, and Denise Julia, and composed by the latter with DENΘ², βdonβt matterβ finds them trading verses over a delicate, laid-back groove.
With Denise Juliaβs powerhouse vocals blending perfectly with DENΘ²βs sensual coos in the most exciting way possible, the song transforms into a charming, sing-along bop thatβs centered on empowerment, freedom, and self-loveβthree virtues that triumph over the prospect of everything going wrong in a leap of faith.
The arrival of βdonβt matterβ comes off the heels of the duoβs recent accomplishments for their music releases: Denise Julia becoming the most streamed Filipino female artist for several months, thanks to the enormous success of her 2023 EP, Sweet Nothings (Chapter 1), and DENΘ²reaching more than a million monthly listeners on Spotify on the strength of her acclaimed crossover album, LOVES7AGE.
A week ago, Denise Julia dropped the music video of her new single βSugar nβ Spice.β Helmed by award-winning filmmaker Samantha Lee, the visuals depict sweet sapphic moments that a lot of adolescent queer women can relate to, regardless of category and experience. To date, the music video has racked up nearly four hundred thousand views on YouTube in less than a week, and has peaked within the top 10 of the video sharing platformβs βTrending for Musicβ charts.
DENY on the other hand, has wrapped up 2023 with a record-breaking milestone. Her new album, LOVES7AGEwas a hit among fans and critics and even yielded memorable hits such as βAlam Ko Na,β a collaboration with Just Hush and Third Floβ, and the Arthur Nery-featured βSabik.β
Both OPM darlings have set their personal bests on creative and commercial terms while maintaining their individuality in an overly saturated and hyper-competitive musical landscape.
