JASMINE YEN UNVEILS DYNAMIC DEBUT ALBUM'tbh'
The 19-year-old daughter of the prolific Donnie Yen and Cecilia Wang has signed to RCA Records Greater China
1 September, 2023 – 19-year-old singer-songwriter, Jasmine Yen unveils her debut album 'tbh' which consists of 8 songs, written in part or entirely by Jasmine. Among these songs, four are fully in English. The album release follows the announcement of her signing to RCA Records Greater China, a division of Sony Music Entertainment (SME) in late July, along with the release of her first single "idk".
Jasmine's debut album 'tbh' is a kaleidoscope of pop versatility. From the enthralling ballad "it's not u it's me", to the sensual "tempo" to the upbeat dance numbers "idk" and "tbh", her vocals effortlessly float over impeccable production and ear-wormy melodies. One of the crowning moments of the album is the English focus track "what the !", an energetic, pop-punk-inspired song that is equal parts cheeky and witty.
"I’ve always considered myself a shy person, and at times, I do feel like it can be challenging to express myself with words. Since childhood, I've found music and songwriting to be my favourite method of self-expression. This album is my way of showcasing my confidence and highlights my coming-of-age journey of not being afraid to hold back on sharing my thoughts and emotions. There’s definitely a running theme of empowerment through this album. Since I was really young, I’ve always been drawn to 'girl power' anthems because I’ve consistently been surrounded by such strong, inspiring and independent women (my mom, my grandma, and my aunt)."
– Jasmine Yen
Jasmine Yen - "tbh" (Official Dance Video)
The bilingual focus track "tbh" is accompanied by a dance video which could very well be considered an athletic feat. Just ask Jasmine who filmed non-stop for 10 hours with her crew of dancers. She shares, “I had an amazing dance crew in Shanghai, and we learned and practiced the entire choreography together for two weeks leading up to the filming date. The whole process was unforgettable and I’ve learned so much. I’m so glad that everything worked out great and the video looks so effortless!”
Raised in Hong Kong, Jasmine began nurturing her talent at a young age, starting to compose when she was only seven years old. To date, she has written over 70 original songs, including 30 during the pandemic. Through her music, she hopes to inspire a generation of bold and confident girls.

First debuted in ISOxo’s recent set at HARD Summer Festival, the full-throttle single captures the raw energy and emotion of his legendary live shows. Building from Ninajirachi's saccharine vocal intro, the single launches headfirst into fast breakbeats, sirens and a pounding mosh-worthy bass. Speaking about the release ISOxo says “Creating SHYPOP came from a sentimental place that’s been driving the meaning behind some of my music. It touches on the insecurities I’ve felt both as an artist and in life, wanting to push myself to be better.”
The track is another taster of ISOxo’s long-awaited debut album, kidsgonemad!. The album – "one of the most anticipated electronic debut albums in recent memory” (EDM.com) – was first announced via a theatrical curtain drop following back-to-back sold-out nights at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Breaking a months-long dormant period, ISOxo recently announced that the album is finally completed.
Since breaking onto the electronic music scene at 19 years old ISOxo has been re-shaping dance music with a rebellious rockstar energy and paving the way for a new generation of DJs and producers. ISOxo's 2023 kicked off with a surprise back-to-back set with the legendary Skrillex in ISOxo’s hometown of San Diego. The two artists have rapidly become friends and close collaborators ever since the 2022 debut EP NIGHTREALM (which caught the attention not only of Skrillex, but Porter Robinson, DJ Snake, RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, and many more + was followed by a sold out headldine tour). ISOxo also made his debut festival appearances at Ultra Music Festival, The Do Lab at Coachella, HARD Summer, 88rising’s Head in the Clouds Festival New York, and Electric Forest – all of which were hailed by attendees as among the Top 3 festival performances.

ADB, Fourth Partner Energy to Build Solar Power Plant in India, Supplying Commercial and Industrial Sector
NEW DELHI, INDIA (28 August 2023) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Fourth Partner Energy Private Limited (Fourth Partner) signed a long-term loan of up to 1.2 billion Indian rupees (about $14.7 million) to construct and operate a 25-megawatt solar photovoltaic-based power plant to increase clean and low-cost energy supply to commercial and industrial customers.
The power plant, located in Tirunelveli district in the state of Tamil Nadu in India, is expected to generate about 50.7 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually and will directly sell power to commercial and industrial users. India’s progressive open access renewable energy policy allows a group of consumers to purchase electricity directly from an Independent Power Producer (IPP).
“Open access energy procurement can play an important role in businesses achieving their net zero emissions targets,” said ADB’s Private Sector Operations Department Director General Suzanne Gaboury. “Solutions like this are being spearheaded by ADB to promote renewable energy across the region. This is ADB’s first direct financing to a renewable energy plant of this nature and is expected to crowd in international commercial financing to further decarbonize the commercial and industrial sector”.
Nearly 41,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions a year will be avoided through the plant, which would otherwise have been generated by conventional fossil fuel plants.
“We are excited to add ADB to our esteemed list of green financiers as we move closer to our 3.5 GW renewable energy target by 2025. Fourth Partner is also constructing solar and wind parks across Ottapidaram, Tuticorin, and Nandikundu in Tamil Nadu,” said Fourth Partner Energy Co-Founder and Executive Director Vivek Subramanian. “We see this project as the beginning of our long-standing partnership with ADB to deliver cleaner, affordable power to India’s commercial and industrial sector,”
ADB has supported the development of renewable energy in India since 2007 when it financed the first set of wind projects under the IPP model. ADB has subsequently financed solar IPPs by assisting projects under the National Solar Mission and various state policies.
Fourth Partner is India’s leading renewable energy solutions platform, focused on building and financing renewable energy projects for commercial and industrial consumers. It offers end-to-end capabilities including evaluation, design, planning, procurement, construction, operation, maintenance, and financing of critical solar, wind, and battery storage infrastructure.
ADB is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Established in 1966, it is owned by 68 members—49 from the region.

Miley Cyrus releases reflective new single“Used To Be Young”
Miley Cyrus has released her new song and video, “Used To Be Young” – listen here and watch the video here. In talking about “Used To Be Young,” Miley says, “This song is about honoring who we’ve been, loving who we are and celebrating who we will become. I feel proud when reflecting on my past and optimistic when thinking about the future. I am grateful to my loyal fans who make my dreams a reality daily. I am sincerely thankful for the stability of your steadfast support. This song is for you.”
Regarding the video, Miley noted, “It’s super emotional because I am kind of a mini-me of my mom and I could see her inside of the camera by using a technology where I could livestream with my mom from inside of the camera. So, we could see each other and as she was dancing it just made me cry, it made me laugh, it brought up so many real emotions and I think it’s really letting people into true emotion, which I don’t feel we get to see very much these days.”
In celebration of the release of “Used To Be Young”, Miley shared stories and insights from the many chapters of her life within the TV special event Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions). Reimagined from the version which originally aired on Disney+, the special features a brand-new interview as well as music from her latest release Endless Summer Vacation and aired on ABC just hours before the release of “Used To Be Young”. The new, reimagined special is now streaming on Hulu.
“Used To Be Young” is Miley’s first new music offering since the release of her critically and commercially acclaimed album Endless Summer Vacation which featured her hit single “Flowers” and twelve additional tracks. A true worldwide smash, “Flowers” spent 8 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 – a personal best for Miley. “Flowers” was #1 on US Pop Radio for 10 weeks and is the fastest running song in nearly a decade to achieve the position. “Flowers” has streamed four billion times and was the fastest song in history to hit 500 million streams on Spotify. It’s officially the longest running UK #1 single by a female solo artist.
Additionally, “Used To Be Young” arrives just before the 10th anniversary of Miley Cyrus’ 3x Platinum album Bangerz (September). A benchmark album, Bangerz was home to beloved original hits such as “Wrecking Ball,” “We Can’t Stop,” and “Adore You.” In celebration of the anniversary, there will be a limited-edition vinyl with updated packaging featuring never seen before photos and the bonus track “23” with Mike WiLLMade-It. JAIN goes global with her viral smash “Makeba”
Her dance-pop track is also a hit in the country, charting on Spotify’s Viral 50 – Philippines for weeks
French pop sensation JAIN is the latest addition to the international acts who have experienced resurgence in popularity, thanks to her global hit “Makeba,” which has recently peaked at No. 8 on Spotify’s Viral 50 – Philippines a few weeks ago.
Originally released in 2015 as part of her debut album, Zanaka via Spookland Records and Sony Music France, the explosive track is spreading across the world like wildfire. Its overwhelming traction in short video app, TikTok even inspired a dance trend with Filipino celebs and influencers Regine Tolentino, Kitty & Kakai, and FabeTwinz hopping on the viral wave.
With 4 million creations and 6 billion views on TikTok over the past 3 weeks, the track is now rocketing the charts across the board. “Makeba” has just reached #1 on the Global Shazam Chart, and it’s charting across 152 markets worldwide. The track has also entered the Top 200 Global Chart and is currently charting in 23 countries on Spotify, as well as in 36 markets on Apple Music. “Makeba” has already gathered 158M streams worldwide, with a triple-digit streaming growth this week.
With 80% of streams for “Makeba” originating outside of France, JAIN’s home country, her music transcends borders and is captivating audiences across Europe, the UK, Africa and Latin America, with its infectious colorful energy.
The track’s stratospheric journey began as a dance trend, best enjoyed and shared with others, inspired by the positive vibe of the track and the playful artistic universe of the artist – Zanaka meaning childhood in Malagasy, her mother’s native country. Combining odes to South African singer and civil rights activist Miriam Makeba with throbbing club-beats and fade-outs, the distinctive “ooohe” vocal hook became a powerful gimmick that spearheaded the trend.
Born in France and primarily raised in the United Arab Emirates and Congo, JAIN released her debut album Zanaka in 2015. The album sold over 1 million copies worldwide, and the singles “Come” and “Makeba” from the LP quickly climbed the charts. The latter earned JAIN her first Grammy nomination for “Best Music Video” in 2018. Watch the video here.
In 2018, her sophomore album Souldier (2018) reached #1 in France and achieved double platinum status, while the single “Alright” was certified diamond. That same year, Rolling Stone named JAIN an “Artist You Need To Know.” She has appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Later… with Jools Holland,” opened the Ryder Cup in 2018, the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019 and performed over 300 shows in 17 countries across Europe, America, and Asia including prestigious festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza.
Earlier this year, JAIN released her new album The Fool, which she co-produced with long-time collaborator Maxim Nucci/Yodelice. The album also features contributions from Metronomy founder Joseph Mount and renowned DJ and producer Gesaffelstein. The international pop and folk album chronicles the various stages one experiences during a fresh start: fear, excitement, innocence, doubts, letting go and epiphany. Listen to The Fool here.
While the new album draws inspiration from artistic influences such as Kate Bush and Stevie Nicks, JAIN’s music originally blended a myriad of genres such as Arabic percussion, African rhythms, electro, reggae, soul, and hip hop.
JAIN’s “Makeba” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Spookland Records and Sony Music Entertainment.
