Reverb Worship Receives Two Nominations at 44th CatholiC Mass Media Awards, Wins “Collaboration of the Year” at 2022 PMPC Star Awards for Music

Inspirational songs produced by Reverb Worship PH, CBN Asia’s Music arm, got back-to-back recognitions from the 44th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) and this year’s PMPC Star Awards for Music.

Joselle Feliciano’s feel-good single, “Love and Light”penned by songwriter Adrian Crisanto, is nominated for Best Music Video at CMMA. Likewise, the anthem that celebrates Filipino unity titled, “Pilipinas Natin 'To” by Bikolana creative Rhea Rodriguez and rapper Elai, is up for Best Inspirational Song.

“I am extremely proud of our Reverb Worship team for receiving these nominations considering that the record label is only two years old, and our work is already being recognized by a great institution like the CMMA,” said CBN Asia’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Valdes Tan.

To Tan, getting the nods from award-giving bodies like the CMMA—which promotes and honors values-filled mass media in the country—is a huge milestone for Reverb Worship’s humble beginnings.

“Our budgets for making music are insignificant compared to that of the industry and yet our creativity and production excellence are recognized by the CMMA. Praise God!”

Meanwhile, OPM icons Ogie Alcasid and Moira Dela Torre took home the Collaboration of the Year award for their inspirational single, “Beautiful” at this year’s PMPC Star Awards for Music.

With hopes of sharing God’s comfort with our kababayanswho were dealing with the pandemic’s impact, the song was released under Star Music, co-produced by Reverb Worship.

On his Instagram post, Ogie thanked Moira for sharing the microphone with him, shared his quick musings about the song, and praised God for their beautiful win in the 13thyear of the prestigious award-giving body.

“Thank you, Moira, for singing with me on this worship song. The pandemic brought a lot of terrible things to our lives, and it was music breathed through us from above that made us survive it. All glory to the Father!”

First teased in 2020, the Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins production has had a rally cry for its release ever since. From beginning to end, SZA commands each scene with a fervent  prowess; fans will see more of her acting skills in her feature film debut in the upcoming movie Tuna Melt by Eddie Huang.

The new single follows the 2022 TIME100 Nextcover star’s nominations at the 2022 American Music Awards for “Favorite R&B Song,” “Favorite Female R&B Artist,” and “Favorite R&B Song;” in addition to her Soul Train Music Awards nominations for “Best R&B/Soul Female Artist” and “The Ashford And Simpson Songwriter’s Award” for “I Hate U.” Over the summer she released Ctrl (Deluxe) which provided a special revisit to her revered major label debut, stocked with unreleased music that offered listeners a deeper insight and breadth to the beloved narrative presented by the original.

The original Ctrl scored SZA five Grammy nominations and has been streamed over 2.3 billion times worldwide since its release on TDE/RCA in 2017. The now 3xRIAA-certified Platinum album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart, No. 2 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2022 alone it sold over 600,000 units and is the 10th best-selling female album this year in the country and 50th best-selling album this year overall. K-Pop rock girl group Dreamcatcher releases 7th EP, [Apocalypse : Follow us]

Listen to the title track “Vision” here.

K-Pop rock girl group Dreamcatcher reveals ‘[Apocalypse : Follow us], the second installment of their ‘Apocalypse’ trilogy, today via Sony Music Entertainment Korea. Having the ‘Apocalypse’ era first introduced through their last release, the new EP continues the series’ theme of raising environmental awareness and combating climate change, proposing Dreamcatcher’s vision to restore Earth to a cleaner and safer planet.

‘[Apocalypse : Follow us]’ serves Dreamcatcher’s unique sonic identity with the intro track “Intro : Chaotical X” opening up the EP with an edgy-techno based instrumental, then leading up to their title track “VISION”. Co-composed and arranged by electronica band Glen Check’s June One, “VISION” presents a dark, techno-infused/electronic sound with metal influences, containing Dreamcatcher’s message to join them and to follow their vision to combat environmental issues. The EP includes an alternative rock track “Fairytale” and a groovy rock track emphasizing the importance of self-love in “Some Love”. In addition, Dreamcatcher presents a beautiful ballad highlighting Dreamcatcher’s softer side through the track “Rainy Day” and finally closes out with “Outro : Mother Nature.”

Dreamcatcher has been taking a different approach by combining rock, metal, and electronica elements within their music. Their uniqueness has earned the attention of many and the seven-membered K-Pop rock girl group has been slowly but steadily hitting one milestone after another. Just this year, they have not only won two Korean music programs for the first time since debut, but also became the first K-Pop artist to perform at 2022 Primavera Sound Barcelona in June. They were also the 5th K-Pop Girl Group to chart No.1 on US iTunes All Albums chart this year with their last release ‘[Apocalypse : Save us]’. Meanwhile, Dreamcatcher will be kicking off their ‘[Apocalypse : Follow us] 2022 World Tour’ in Seoul with their ‘[Apocalypse : Broken Halloween]’ concert on October 29th and 30th . Dreamcatcher will then head to Europe in November to tour five cities.
