WATERWALK RECORDS‘ Ariel Tsai releases upliftingworship song “MY ALL IN ALL”
Sony Music Philippines recently announced the launch of WATERWALK RECORDS, a music label focused on bringing fresh Christian music to a new, streaming generation. The label will feature faith-based entertainment artists from across not just the Philippines, but throughout Asia, who represent the best of Christian music combined with their own unique styles.
After launching several new songs from artists in the Philippines such as Morissette, Hazel Faith, NathanHuang, and more, WATERWALK RECORDS is releasing a song from Ariel Tsai, a popular Taiwanese singer-songwriter, pianist, and YouTuber signed under Sony Music Taiwan. Her track, “MY ALL IN ALL,” is a beautiful and heartfelt piano-driven worship song written by Ariel herself.
“I wrote this song this past year during a time where I felt quite lost and uncertain about the future,” says Tsai. “I felt I was holding on to the worldly definition of success and chasing it, just to end up realizing that it could never fill the void in my heart. That was when I came to God and resurrendered myself to Him, and God had let me experience His peace again, the peace that the world could not give. Therefore, I wanted to use this song to record what I felt and experienced—the fact that nothing could ever compare to God, and He is indeed the only one I need.”
Kevin Foo, General Manager of Sony Music Taiwan, was also actively involved in the production of the track. “It is truly a blessing for me, leading the Sony Music Taiwan company, to be working in something I’m deeply passionate in every single day, and that is the music industry. Working with Ariel to produce her release with WATERWALK RECORDS was really an opportunity to dovetail my personal faith, with my passion in music,” says Foo. “It was truly a privilege for me to be able to play a part in this amazing song of worship, a song that reflects Ariel’s journey and her declaration of faith. I hope people will be drawn in to the message of hope in this song, and lives will be impacted.”
“MY ALL IN ALL” is out now on all digital music streaming platforms. The official lyric video is alsoavailable on Ariel Tsai’s YouTube channel.

R&B newcomer LOIR teams up with rapper Guddhist Gunanita on hypnotic slow jam ‘Umaga’
The music video showcases a forbidden love affair set in a mythical forest
Budding R&B artist LOIR reflects on the process of growth and peace of mind on her new single “Umaga”—out now on all digital music platforms via Sony Music Philippines.
Inspired by her realizations in life and romantic relationships, the track maps her journey towards acceptance and starting anew with the right mindset.
Laced with lush strings, acoustic guitars, and minimal beats, the hypnotic slow jam is produced by frequent collaborators HavoMusic and Goodson, whom LOIR worked with on “Sakay.”
It also features a rap verse and songwriting credit from acclaimed hip-hop artist Guddhist Gunanita. The two have teamed up together earlier this year for the sun-kissed bop “Dalampasigan,” which to date, has more than 600 thousand views on YouTube alone.
Both acts star on the official music video of “Umaga,” which showcases a love story arc set in a magical forest. LOIR essays the role of a Diwata, who unexpectedly gets entangled in a forbidden romantic relationship with a hunter, played by Guddhist Gunanita himself.
“We have always prioritized the artist’s vision in making music videos,” says production outfit, Swimming Pictures. “And upon listening to Loir’s ‘Umaga’, we immediately formed this simple narrative and atmosphere that should be seen in its visuals. From there, we built these fantasy-mythological characters of Loir (as Diwata) and Guddhist (as Mangangaso). And we thought this suits the whole intention and vibe of Loir and ‘Umaga’ very well.”
In an official statement, the production house responsible for the music video emphasized how Loir and Guddhistare a gem to work with. “Even from concept meetings pre-production, we felt their enthusiasm to get this story turn into a reality. During production, the shoot went smoothly as the artists were always ready to go and costumed in-character. We felt their deep love for their music video in the whole process of making it up until the finished product.”
“Umaga” serves as the second installment in a series of LOIR music videos that are connected by a narrative thread. LOIR is expected to wrap up the series of MVs with her upcoming EP to be released in 2022, featuring more collaborators in the local music scene.

6cyclemind returns with soaring rock anthem “Langit”
The new single off their upcoming seventh album serves as a testament to their enduring power as a creative force
Filipino pop-rock outfit 6cylemind makes a triumphant return to form with the release of “Langit,” the first single off their upcoming seventh studio album under Sony Music Philippines.
Characterized by its soaring introspection, “Langit” is a song about chasing one’s dreams, making it happen, and allowing yourself to fail and persevere in order to achieve your goals in life. As lead vocalist Tutti Caringal puts it, “It won’t always be a smooth ride. There will be bumps on the road, but what matters is whenever you fall you get back up and soldier on.”
The unapologetically brash anthem was written by rhythm guitarist Rye Sarmiento and Michael Lao, who initially made the demo for every dreamer out there to keep pushing and never give up on their dreams.
With minimum health and safety protocols taken into account, the band went through several jamming sessions prior to hitting the studio to record their respective parts. Despite the restriction imposed during the peak of the pandemic period, 6cyclemind carried on with their brand of professionalism and work ethic, producing one of their finest singles to date.
“I feel like we’ve surpassed our expectations in terms of sound and feel,” Rye said. “We’re trying to deliver a positive and empowering anthem that has that epic sound to it. Special shout out to our sound engineers, Oliver Romblon and Jam Bumanlag, whom we get to work for the first time. We’re grateful of how everything turned out.”
Still on the top of their game 20 years after the launch of their career-defining debut, 6cyclemind loves a good challenge, and on “Langit,” they’re still as persistent as ever, and are more risk takers when it comes to the creative aspects of the recording.
“What makes the single a cut above the rest is that the recording process challenged everyone in the band to give his best with limited physical and moral support from other members,” bassist and backing vocalist Roberto "Bob" Cañamo shares. “The song being technically self-produced by the band, was recorded with a little more personal touch by each member. Everyone was so involved during the post production and was so excited to hear and release the final cut of our latest song, Langit.”
6cyclemind’s “Langit” is out now on all digital music platforms via Sony Music Philippines.

SB19’S SISTER GROUP KAIA HOPES TO CONQUER THE AIRWAVES WITH PRE-DEBUT SINGLE “KAYA”
KAIA’s new track blends contemporary pop music with hip-hop and EDM elements
After being publicly launched last month by ShowBTPhilippines, the global entertainment company responsible for catapulting SB19 into global stardom, P-Pop girl group KAIA is now ready to seize the spotlight with the release of their pre-debut single “KAYA”—out today on December10 (Friday) via Sony Music Philippines.
Derived from the Filipino word which means finding one’s own courage, the upbeat electro-pop track tackles the importance of coping with the turbulent times, and being able to bounce back stronger amidst the adversities in life. The song is written by Maegan Adriano and KAIA themselves, who took inspiration from the hardships that they’ve gone through as a group.
“We are nervous and excited at the same time,” the all-girl ensemble shares in a statement. “We are excited to show people what we've been working hard for in the past months, and we're hoping that people will give love and support to our pre-debut single, KAYA.”
Produced by Mr. Lee Oh Won (SB19, SHINee’s Taemin, Stray Kids, TVXQ and Wanna One) and Han Seungtaek, “KAYA” delivers a sonically adventurous sound built around contemporary pop trends and hip-hop/EDM elements. It’s a catchy banger that serves as a great introduction to the members’ interesting and diverse personalities, as well as their hands on approach towards the creative aspects of music-making.
As ShowBT Philippines Content Strategist and Digital Marketing Specialist Reine Tan sums it up, “Aside from their major involvement in their music and content, their unique personalities and talent, complete with a carefully formulated concept and direction in terms of their music, KAIA will be able to tell a story from their own creative perspectives.”
The official release of “KAYA” will be accompanied by a music video shot by Jonathan Tal Placido. KAIA reveals that they had a great time working on the visual showcase for the track, and despite the nerves, they soldiered on and gave their best to deliver a fantastic number. “Everyone behind the camera were professionals and very open to suggestions and opinions,” KAIA said. “The shoot went very smoothly. All in all, it was a great experience and we all had fun on set.”
Last month, ShowBT Philippines welcomed the members of KAIA (Charlotte, Angela, Sophia, Alexa, Charice and Joanna) through a series of concept videos and photos. According to ShowBT Philippines, the girls from the breakout pop group were handpicked from a number of trainees who joined the auditions. “The company held monthly evaluations and chose the members with the best chemistry and synergy until finally, the 6 members of KAIA showed their potential to debut,” Reine adds.
With KAIA’s enormous talent and determination shown on full display, ShowBT Philippines promises that SB19’s sister group will leave a mark in the local entertainment industry, and hopefully make a name for themselves on a global level. “We cannot say much of the plans as we want to give you a surprise and let you experience KAIA as they come, but one thing is for sure: they are definitely worth the wait.”

Zack Tabudlo caps off his stellar year with heartfelt pop/R&B ballad “PANO”
Listen to ZACK TABUDLO’s “PANO”:https://ZackTabudlo.lnk.to/Pano
Breakout artist Zack Tabudlo closes out 2021 with a string of record-breaking achievements. His breakthrough single “Binibini” recently topped the list of Spotify Philippines’ most-streamed song of 2021, while “Nangangamba,” another chart-topper, emerged as the second most-streamed OPM song. The prolific singer-songwriter has also received positive acclaim for his work on Episode—his star-turning debut album under Island Records Philippines and MCA Music Inc.
Now ready to prove his staying power with generation-defining anthems that go full-circle from being outright confessional to universally relatable, Zack Tabudlo caps off his stellar year with a new song exploring the themes of confused love.
“PANO,” another R&B-pop ballad amplified with richer, lustrous sound, deals about the pain of losing someone you’ve given your heart and love to, despite trying your best to make everything work.
Zack explains, “the song is about showing your vulnerability and genuine love to a person, and getting your hopes and expectations high. Despite all of the great things that you’ve been through, you still end up breaking your heart. The other person just doesn’t feel the same way about commitment and love.”
Written, produced, mixed and mastered by the 21-year-old musician himself, “PANO” is easily one of his most poignant tracks, if not the most hugot-driven off his catalog. In terms of production, Zack wanted a more laid-back approach to the instrumentation, while still giving the audience that soulful, vibey sound that complements his singing style.
“It’s definitely a different route sonically,” Zack points out. “I want to surprise people with the new tracks, another era—more feeling.”
When asked about what he expects the music fans and casual listeners to feel after hearing “PANO” for the first time, Zack hopes that the song would resonate to them on an intimate level. “I want this song to mark on their hearts and make them cry, but in a good way.”
Zack Tabudlo’s “PANO” is out now on all streaming platforms worldwide via Island Records Philippines.

The Itchyworms release second installment of holiday-themed album, Christmas Starts When The Bers Begin
The continuously expanding record contains two new tracks “Halo-Halo and “Meri Xmas 2 U”
The Itchyworms continue to celebrate their 25thanniversary with the second installment of their holiday-themed album, Christmas Starts When The Bers Begin—out today, December 8, 2021 (Wednesday) on all digital music platforms via Sony Music Philippines.
Capturing the spirit of Pinoy Christmas with songs that will surely make its way into classic status, Christmas Starts When The Bers Begin contains two new tracks, “Halo-Halo” and “Meri Xmas 2 U,” and last year’s “Have A Merry Christmas” and “Maligayang Pasko.”
Written and produced by drummer and lead vocalist Jazz Nicolas, “Halo-Halo” is a festive reinforcement of the classic tradition with characteristically Pinoy sensibilities. It’s an upbeat tune that celebrates the Yuletide season in a way that feels home.
According to Jazz, “Halo-Halo” is a metaphorical reference to the various beliefs and traditions of Filipinos about Christmas. “There are people who believe in God, there are people who just shop, and there are people who consider it as a perfect time for receiving gifts. It all happens during Christmas, and it’s a magical feeling for everyone.”
Another new offering, “Meri Xmas 2 U” is a fun and sparkly reimagining of the Pinoy Christmas carols in one rocking shimmy treat. Complete with kundiman-charged guitars, raw percussions and tambourine sounds, and infectious vocal harmonies, the track pays tribute to the street caroling traditions in the country during the pre-pandemic times.
“This is an ode to the kids who knock on doors to sing Christmas songs,” lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jugs Jugueta shares. “They rarely have real instruments with them, but sometimes when they’re lucky, they bring acoustic guitars or makeshift tools. They use cans with stretched plastic on top for the ‘drums’ and flattened tansan as tambourines. While they don’t sing in perfect tune, the happy Christmas vibe that they bring is what gets you and tugs your heartstrings.”
“Meri Xmas 2 U” is written by Jugs Jugueta, and performed by the alt-rock band with their families and friends who sang and played makeshift instruments: Jug’s wife Andie, Chino’s brother Echo, Jazz’s brother Peavey and his fiancé Antonette, and their road manager Gabs.
The 2021 AWIT Awards Winner for Best Musical Arrangement also plans to add more songs every year to complete the Yuletide-themed album. This well-curated process gives them the opportunity to create music at their own pace, while giving casual listeners something to uplift their spirits before the year ends.
As Jugs put it, “It is an ever-growing Christmas album. Wereleased two Christmas songs last year, then we added two more this year, and we plan on releasing more Christmas songs every year! And every time we add songs, we also add elements to the album cover. It’s now streaming on Spotify and other digital platforms, but once we have enough Christmas songs, we hope to release it as a physical album on vinyl.”
Christmas Starts When The Bers Begin is part of the band’s celebration of their 25th year in the Philippine music industry, which follows the release of their original track “Eto Na (Ang Maliligayang Araw)” and the six-part series, Worms Upon A Time: An Itchyworms Podcast.
The year-long musical treat commenced with the vinyl pressing of their album, Waiting For The End To Start, which immediately sold out upon its release, the launch of “The Life I Know,” the first of its kind in the Philippine stop-motion animation music video, and the release of “Waiting For The End To Start” music video, which serves as an artistic take on the ‘dystopian future post-pandemic’ life in the Philippines.
The Itchyworms are also set to drop a mockumentary that chronicles their 25 years in the music industry at the end of the year.
“Halo-Halo” and “Meri Xmas 2 U” are out now on all digital music platforms via Sony Music Philippines.Listen to the partial batch of ‘Christmas Starts When The Bers Begin’ here.
