Maria Ceramika
I ordered a palette from local ceramic artist Maria Ceramika, and I received a trinket dish as well! I was still a newbie blogger when I first met Aileen, the ceramicist behind this thriving brand. I got hooked after I bought two pairs of ceramic earrings from her, and we have kept in touch since then.

Israeli Ambassador Sees Expansion of Israel-PH relations
Ambassador Ilan Fluss revealed the flourishing relations between Israel and the Philippines in the fields of economy, agriculture, tourism, defense, among others during the Pandesal Forum held in Kamuning Bakery. The Israeli Ambassador also emphasized that he envisions expanding the cooperation between the two countries focusing on innovation and technology.
âIsrael is a global hub of innovation and technology. We want to share our know-how with Filipinos and to work together in maximizing their potential while using smart and innovative Israeli technology adjusted to local conditions,â Ambassador Fluss said.
Israel is known as the start-up nation with leading companies in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, water technology, and more. The embassy plans to feature and introduce more of these in the Philippines.
He specifically mentioned the agriculture sector, which will benefit more in using Israeli innovation. âI recently visited Tarlac State University and I saw the impressive and successful display of the adoption of Israeli smart technology in the province,â he said.
Israel and the Philippines have existing cooperation in the agriculture field. âEvery year, Filipino students train in Israel for 11 months to practice smart agriculture,â Ambassador Fluss said. âIsrael offers advanced technologies and innovation in farming that it aims to share with the Philippines to contribute to its goal of attaining sustainability and food sufficiency in the country while addressing climate change,â he added.
MASHAV is Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation. Filipinos in various fields were trained in Israel to further their skills in the areas of agriculture, water management, public health, entrepreneurship, innovation, among others.
âThe historic visit of President Rodrigo Duterte in Israel in 2018 gave a boost to the relations of our countries. He was the first Philippine president to visit our country,â Ambassador Fluss said.
Ambassador Fluss described the relationship of Israel-PH as a multi-layer partnership. âCultural activities bring people together. We want to feature and expose more Israeli culture to Filipinos,â he said. He mentioned the first Hebrew to Filipino translation of the Etgar Keret book and the Israeli Film Festival this November as few examples of the embassyâs cultural activities.
âThe highlight of the film festival is the documentary of âKuya Noyâ which features the OFW life of a Filipino rock band member Asin. It is important for us to know stories like this since Filipinos are an integral part of our society,â Ambassador Fluss explained.
There are around 30,000 Filipino caregivers in Israel. Their rights are protected with the bilateral labor agreement between the two governments. They are an integral part of the Israeli society. âMy father-in-law has a Filipina caregiver. Our family appreciates her care and dedication,â he shared.
In the middle of the pandemic, Israel assisted the Philippines by bringing two delegations of medical experts to the Philippines. The first group shared the Israeli experience in vaccination drive campaigns and the other one shared their knowledge on efficient infection control protocols and hospital management.
Ambassador Ilan Fluss considers himself as a âdiplomat balikbayan.â âI was fortunate enough to experience this great and beautiful country, its culture, and its people as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Israeli Embassy in Manila in 1995. I am delighted to be back to close the circle, this time as the Israeli Ambassador,â he said.
Ambassador Fluss encouraged Filipinos to come visit Israel. âVaccinated Filipinos can now visit the Holy Land, Old City Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Beit Shemesh,â he recommended.
Philippine Airlines is aiming to start direct flights to Israel by April next year. This is expected to boost the tourism, economy, and people-to-people relations between Israel and the Philippines. Filipinos are entitled to free visa access to Israel for 90 days.
âIsraeli backpackers are excited to visit the Philippines. We are optimistic of the signs of your country opening up and recovering from the economic crisis due to the pandemic. We hope that the tourism industry will bounce back stronger soon,â he said.
Ambassador Fluss also wished good luck to Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Gomez as she competed in the Miss Universe pageant to be held in December in Eilat, Israel.
The Pandesal Forum was moderated by Mr. Wilson Lee Flores at Kamuning Bakery, an 82-year-old bakery. The famous Filipino pandesal and Israeli challah breads were featured during the forum held on November 18 to signify the friendly relations of Israel and the Philippines.

Rescue in the Philippines
Eight years ago, Typhoon Haiyan (one of the most powerful tropical storms ever recorded) devastated the Philippines, killing thousands and leaving many, many thousands more injured and homeless. As Rabbi Eckstein wrote in his final message, Israel is a country with a big heart, and the IDF sent much-needed aidto Israelâs Filipino friends.
But the relationship between the people of the Philippines and the Jewish state and Jewish people is not a new one. In the above documentary, we have a Holocaust rescue story, one in which the Philippines, with the help of cigar-maker brothers from Cincinnati and an American military officer named Dwight Eisenhower saved more than a thousand Jews from certain death at the hands of the Nazis.

Israeli Ambassador Visits Israeli Smart Agri Projects in Tarlac
Ambassador Ilan Fluss visited Tarlac for a familiarization tour of the existing agriculture projects of Israel in the province as part of the Israeli governmentâs push for continuous and stronger partnership with the Philippineâs agricultural sector.
âIsrael is a hub of innovation and technology in the agriculture field. We want to share our know-how with the Filipinos to help unleash their potential and to work together in maximizing the potential while using smart and innovative technology,â Ambassador Fluss said. âThe impressive display of the adoption of Israelâs technology in the province of Tarlac is commendable,â he mentioned.
The courtesy visit commenced with a courtesy call at the Office of the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President, Dr. Max. P. Guillermo together with Mayor Erlon C. Agustin of the Municipality of Camiling and a representative from the Department of Agriculture. It was followed by a tour of several laboratories and centers in TAU. Ambassador Fluss also planted, pollinated, and harvested several climate-resilient crops including Israeli varieties grown in the facility of Sustainable Mechanized Agriculture for Research and Technology (TAU SMART) Agriculture Center and met with the Agro Studies and MASHAV alumni. âThe produce are of high quality, they are competitive for the international market,â Ambassador said.
âEvery year, Filipino students train in Israel for 11 months to practice smart agriculture under a training program offered by Agro Studies,â Ambassador Fluss said. âIsrael offers advanced technologies and innovation in farming that it aims to share with the Philippines to contribute to its goal of attaining sustainability and food sufficiency in the country,â he added.
MASHAV is Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation. Filipinos in various fields were trained in Israel to further their skills in the areas of agriculture, public health, entrepreneurship, innovation among others.
Moreover, Ambassador Fluss observed the free-range chickens on-site and the Artificial Insemination Laboratory in the university. TAU staff also demonstrated the processes involved in turning bamboo to innovative products for income generation.
Ambassador Fluss pledged that the Israeli embassy will enhance cooperation with TAU to promote better farm productivity, profitability, and sustainability. He proposed to establish an R&D demonstration site for relevant agriculture technologies. The said PH-Israel sustainable smart agriculture center would emphasize the outreach to farmers and communities in Tarlac to help generate more jobs and income and help eradicate poverty and hunger, while addressing the issues of climate change.
Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Nir Balzam and MASHAV Officer Ms. Gladys Baniqued-Turiano were part of the Israeli embassy delegation.

raven puts a refreshing spin on â90s indie rock with catchy new single âLika Naâ
The track is co-produced by Rico Blanco and mixed/mastered by Emil dela Rosa
In a music landscape populated by personalities who turn familiar music trends into sleek new forms, raven seems to be ahead of the pack. The young singer-songwriter/producer has built a reputation for experimenting with various music genres, from hip-hop to bedroom pop, from lo-fi to acoustic, from R&B to â90s indie rock. But what sets him apart from his contemporaries is his ability to tap into the zeitgeist without compromising his vision as an artist, making considerable amounts of artistic leap in less than two years after being signed to Sony Music Philippines and being taken under the management wing of Rico Blanco and Balcony Entertainment.
On the commercial front, raven has attained some level of success with the crossover performance of his previous singles âParalumanâ and âS.U.K.I.â To date, the multi-faceted artist has amassed more than 7 million streams and an average of 294,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone, opening a new lane for breakthrough solo artists whose material appeals to the streaming public and casual music fans.
This year, raven continues to channel his passion and energy into accessible but well-crafted earworms. His latest single âLika Naâ puts a refreshing spin on â90s alternative rock and early 2000s power-pop, and turns little thrills of romantic adolescence into an inspiration. Confiding romantic earnestness over an explosive chorus and melodic, punch-drunk guitars, the talented newcomer embraces the touchstones of the past while carving a special place for his own kind to thrive.
According to raven, âLika Naâ serves as a love letter to a âgirlâ who has endured several heartbreaks in life, but is deserving of genuine happiness and love. âItâs hard for someone to trust and believe in second chances, especially after experiencing pain after pain. This song wants to bring light into someoneâs darkness, hoping to dry those tears away with new memories.â
The trackâs feel-good message not only helps in tuning out distractions and unnecessary stress, but also motivates listeners to embrace the brighter side of life. Its enduring positivity makes sense in an era that badly needs both break and reprieve, especially with listeners turning to lighter, more inspiring songs for comfort.
The song is written and produced by raven himself, with guidance from music mentor and co-producer Rico Blanco and sound engineer Emil dela Rosa, who has mixed and mastered critically acclaimed albums by UDD and other artists. âI was heavily into Beabadoobee and â90s-influenced indie rock when I wrote this song,â raven shares. âIâm thankful to sir Rico and sir Emil for helping me turn this music vision into a reality. Itâs one of the most memorable tunes that Iâve worked on so far.â
As for the trackâs instrumentation, raven and Rico Blanco played the guitars, with the latter also doing bass duties, and Luke Sigua manning the drums.
The euphoric tune is accompanied with a music video directed by Daniel Aguilar. Shot with nostalgic glow and warmer colors, the visual narrative takes you back to the days when life was simpler, and spending time with your loved one is enough to complete the day.
âThe concept is built around teenage romance, with scenes inspired by prom nights, talent shows, and late-night dates,â raven explains.
âLika Naâ is also the title of ravenâs upcoming debut EP, which contains familiar hits and two new songs. It will be released soon via Sony Music Philippines.
ravenâs latest single âLika Naâ is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide. Watch the music video here.

New Single âColoradoâ Is Top 5 On Triple A Radio, Top 10 On Alternative Radio
Milky Chance â the 5+ billion-streaming German duo known for their global hits and inventive, chameleonic approach to pop songwriting â share Trip Tape, an official collection of the covers and remixes originally featured as part of the soundtrack to Milky Chanceâs Road Tripping Radio series. In these videos, Phillipp Dausch and Clemens Rehbein drive through cities like Berlin and San Francisco while listening to an alternate world radio where every song is performed by Milky Chance. Not only does this include Milky Chance originals, but knockout covers of smash hits like Soft Cellâs âTainted Love,â Dua Lipaâs âLevitating,â and The Weekndâs âSave Your Tears,â as well as remixes and demos. Another standout track is a stirring cover of Bad Bunny and RosalĂaâs reggaeton hit, La Noche De Anoche â marking the duoâs first time singing in Spanish, their third language behind German and English.
Listen to Trip Tape here. https://milky-chance.lnk.to/triptape
Dausch and Rehbein continued their dedicated work ethic through the pandemic, even over long distances. In August of 2020, when things began kicking into overdrive, Rehbein decided he needed to be closer to Dausch and ended up moving to Berlin, where the latter had been living for the past few years. Once united, the pair began going into the studio together daily, really pushing themselves musically. âThe studio became this escape, this hideaway for us,â says Rehbein. âIt was a place where anything was possible.â They eventually began playing with covers of other artists, expanding their sound in bold and new directions and sharing the results on TikTok. When fans heard the new material the guys were working on, they rushed to social media and began asking them to release full versions. After seeing this outpour from their supporters, a mixtape felt like the right way to give them to people.
Says the band ââ
âWe spent so much time in the studio the past couple of years working on new music and âColoradoâ was the big kick-off. But in lockdown two things happened - next to âColoradoâ we found ourselves with so many new songs we love and we also got into making our own versions of other artistsâ songs we enjoy. On top of that Icarus made a remix of âColoradoâ that weâre absolutely buzzing about! So how can we bring all of these different things out?.. A TRIP TAPE.â
Milky Chanceâs latest single âColoradoâ is making a big impact both on radio and streaming. Colorado peaked at #2 on the Triple A Radio charts and just hit the Top 10 at Alternative Radio. The song also has more than 50 million global streams, helping the group place among Spotifyâs 500 Most Streamed Artists.
Watch the surreal, Lynchian video for âColoradoâ here.
Trip Tape and âColoradoâ follow the 2019 release of their acclaimed album Mind The Moon (which NPR Music said introduced ânew twists on the old concept of world music,â while American Songwriter said it âtakes great leaps and lands in completely unexpected, but creatively rich, territoryâ) and their 2020 Jack Johnson collaboration âDonât Let Me Down.â Watch their performance of âDonât Let Me Downâ for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert here.

Ben&Ben to push the boundaries of concert production on a scale thatâs never been done before with âKuwadernoâ
Different forms of art intertwine on the nine-piece bandâs most ambitious concert so far
Ben&Ben are redefining the virtual concert-going experience with the biggest headline show of their career.
Aptly titled Kuwaderno: A Ben&Ben Online Concert, the Filipino nine-piece collective are pushing the boundaries of music shows in the new normal setting by integrating creative disciplines such as drama, dance, orchestra, and technology with a live performance. Their highly anticipated major concert will be staged at the SMART Araneta Coliseum, and will be streamed live on December 5, 2021, from 8pm to 11pm via digital streaming platform, KTX.ph.
âWe canât deny the fact that itâs the biggest project weâve undertaken so far, and I think you just somehow know that itâs a leap of faith when the streams of guidance and providence lead you to the right people who believe in the same vision you have: To bring the music and the messages they carry to life,â the award-winning group said. âThis spirit of collaboration was one of the defining themes of our album âPebble House Volume One: Kuwadernoâ and it was only by natural desire that we brought the same spirit and attitude when we began working on the concert. As for the play between grand and intimate, we really wanted our listeners to relish in the grandiosity of what their support means to us. Doing a concert on this scale and bringing them closer into that bigger picture is our way of expressing immense gratitude to them as well.â
The audio-visual spectacle promises to bring the immense joy of experiencing live music and give an impression of conceptual grandness that are at par with the most memorable concerts in recent history. From mounting multiple-stage setups to performing in one of the biggest live music venues in the country, Kuwaderno aims to open new possibilities despite the limitations of the platform, and intimately build a connection with the audience all over the world.
The awe-inspiring creativity and ambition that Kuwadernodares to achieve, wouldnât be possible without the collaborators that painstakingly put their heart and soul into the project. Concert director Paolo Valenciano, along with co-director Maribel Legarda, Philippine Theater Association (PETA), and veteran light designer Shakira Villa-Symesâto name a few, understood Ben&Benâs unique vision and translated them so clearly to create a cohesive piece of work. Ben&Ben attest to how significant their contributions are, not only in turning the concert into a reality, but in making sure that they are able to nurture a creative environment that promotes healthy exchange of ideas. âWorking closely with them on this concert only made it clearer to us why they are the biggest names in the industry. The flow of ideas and creative energies really went on naturally because of their openness, and their generosity to share with us their thoughts, but what makes them more admirable is their skill to work within the limitations that we have and to adapt when faced with challenges. We definitely learned a lot from their work ethic.â
Believing in the magic that happens when different forms of art intertwine, the prolific folk-pop asserts that some feelings are best conveyed not just by the music elements alone. This prompted Ben&Ben and their team to include actors and dancers as part of the visual narrative to give the audience a semblance of being physically present with them throughout the concert journey. âMovement and dance and the entire visual narrative of it all woven into our music brought our songs to life,â the band said in a statement. âThe talented dancers weâve worked with, headed by choreographer Gio Gahol, are from different dance groups as well. It is amazing to see how they seem to get along and dance so passionately with each other easily.â
In terms of production design, the team stepped up their game in being more in line with the times, and pushing the envelope in terms of how the music can be represented visually. According to the nine-piece ensemble, each stage has its own purpose, its own symbolisms and visual elements. Even the lighting has its own poignant significance. âWe want our listeners to know that each piece of the puzzle was thoughtfully included, and weâre excited to see them piece everything together when they watch the full show.â
The band is confident that Kuwaderno: A Ben&Ben Online Concert will not only deliver unparalleled innovation tolocal concert productions, but also bring light to a lot of people suffering in silence during the most challenging of times. âHaving the opportunity to do so during the pandemic, we also felt such a huge responsibility to be able to inspire more people with stories of humanity and hope. Weâve received a lot of messages from Liwanag (the fan club) telling us how the band has helped them get through the tough times. Hopefully through this concert, weâll be able to use our platform in making them feel that theyâre not alone in this fight.â
Ms. Val Guico, the General Manager of Ben&Ben Music Productions, is also equally grateful to the people involved in the production for making strides in pulling off an envelope-pushing event. According to her, one of the main goals of mounting Kuwaderno is to extend help to the production team whose livelihood and work have been greatly affected by the pandemic. âBulk of the concert earnings will be shared to everyone behind the scenes,â the concert producer reveals. âThey are the unsung heroes of the show. Without them, we wouldnât be able to bring Ben&Benâs vision to life.â
Tickets to Kuwaderno: A Ben&Ben Online Concert can be purchased via the KTX website. The TINATANGI package (priced at PHP 8,000), which gives you access to the online concert, plus an Exclusive 1 on 1 HaranaSession with the band on Zoom and a raffle entry to the Exclusive Ben&Ben House Tour, is already SOLD OUT. VVS Collective celebrates women from the countryside with pop-rap crossover âProbinsyanaâ
Stream: https://VVSCollective.lnk.to/Probinsyana
Promising hip-hop quartet VVS Collective pays tribute to the women of the countryside whose distinct looks, effortless grace, and captivating intelligence redefine conventional standards of beauty.
On their lilting anthem âProbinsyana,â the rap crew delivers a romantic serenade for every âcountryâ lass who took their breath away in recent years.
âProbinsyana is a feel-good track which many Filipinos can relate to,â the group describes the appeal of their latest single. âItâs about searching and pursuing that dream girl who lives in the suburbs or the province. It expounds on the qualities of a province girl whoâs simple yet has everything youâre looking for in a girl. With the thousands of islands that the Philippines has, the track will surely transcend to all Probinsyanas all over the country.â
What makes it extra special is their attempt to take a stand against urbanite snobbery and Manila-centrism in a song that celebrates women of all kinds, regardless of their geographical and social background.
Watch: https://VVSCollective.lnk.to/Probinsyana_MV
As Gabrang puts it, âlet's face it: there's prejudice here in Manila towards Bisaya/Probinsyano. We see people make fun of them, and sometimes, theyâre treated as inferior because of the way they talk, their skin color, and their background. Probinsyana is our way to boost their confidence, and celebrate their inner beauty and captivating uniqueness. I hope it inspires them to look things differently and be proud of who they are and where they come from.â
If the sparkly, pop-infused single is any indication, VVS Collective proves that they are primed for mainstream crossoverâthanks to their incredible ear for hooks and melodies, and the lyrical sincerity that they effortlessly bring to the table.
King Promdi, who is part of the hip-hop group, produced the track and incorporated a sticky, ear-candy of a chorus deserving of a viral TikTok dance. The result is a summer jam for all seasons whose catchiness is hard to ignore.
VVS Collectiveâs âProbinsyanaâ is out now on all streaming platforms via Def Jam Philippines.

the vowels they orbit reflects on the struggles of first heartbreak on new song âUnaâ
The emotional guitar-rock tune serves as the first single off their highly anticipated sophomore EP
Itâs always the first cut that turns out to be the deepest, if not the most life-changing. Indie pop-rock outfit the vowels they orbit knows this by heart, and on their comeback single âUna,â waxing poetic about âthe person that used to be your everythingâ sounds more of an emotional cleansing than a retreading of the good old days.
âNo matter what you do, there is nothing that can replace your first,â said the acclaimed group. âWhether itâs your first love or your first day of school ever, thereâs something special about the first time. Itâs a relatable topic that Nikka, the songwriter and vocalist, felt the need to write about.â
More mature musical direction
Taking on a more mature musical direction with a grittier sound that extends beyond the charming weightlessness of their previous singles, âUnaâ is unapologetically brash and confrontational, but its sense of melodic resonance shines through the surface with exquisite vulnerability. The surging guitars and passionate vocals blow up into a calming eruption, as the anger and frustration reach for a bittersweet realization.
âThe guitars stand out the most in the track, which is a first for us,â vocalist and guitarist Nikka Melchor points out. âThereâs minimal acoustic guitar, yet the two electric guitars playing harmoniously create a nostalgic feeling which we aimed for. âUnaâ made use of a lot of different chords, as compared to our other 2-4 chord songs, resulting to more of a head bang than our usual head bop.â
Production aspects
For a song that is produced to feel the pain through the music even if the listener is not going through the same situation, producer Rye Sarmiento emphasizes the feeling of nostalgia with layers of instruments and usage of first takes, particularly the almost-raw vocal quality of Nikka Melchor. Sarmiento succeeds in translating the songâs vision into a wounded material through-and-through, resulting into compelling glimpses of regret, longing, and affection.
Music video
âUnaâ is also accompanied with a music video directed by raliug a.k.a. Daniel Aguilar. First time working with the young creative, the vowels they orbit shares that the entire process was such a breeze, and that its concept resonates with them on an intimate level.
âThe music video highlights distractions as a coping mechanism for the sudden longing of your Una,â the band shares in a statement. âYou can leave your home, go see friends, and have a good time, but the memories of that person will always find a way to creep in.â
Newfound success
Recorded in Backdoor Studio during a 5-day lock-in session, âUnaâ serves as the first single off the vowels they orbitâs sophomore EP, soon to be released under Sony Music Philippines.
Late last year, the vowels they orbit found renewed success after their hit single âSelosâ made it to the official soundtrack of the globally renowned queer series, Gaya Sa Pelikula, directed by JP Habac (Iâm Drunk I Love You) and produced by Globe Studios. To date, the soulful alt-pop track has racked up more than 2.4 million streams on Spotify alone, and has consistently enjoyed airplay on mainstream and alternative radio stations in the Philippines.

The clubby pop song showcases the young singer-songwriter/producerâs astounding versatility
Ace Banzuelo delivers fun, confident P-Pop energy on the music video of âAliveâ
Ace Banzuelo has come a long way from being a fresh-faced phenom who can write and produce emotional pop tunes from his bedroom. His songs âMalayoâ and âHimalaâ have racked up more than 8 million streams on all digital music platforms combined, and broke big on several crossover playlists in the Philippines and the rest of Asia. Working his way slowly but surely to mainstream ubiquity, the young singer-songwriter is shaping up to be a compelling presence in the local music sceneâthanks to his songwriting gift and production skillset.
Today, the alt-pop wunderkind is shifting gears with the music video release of âAliveââhis latest single under Sony Music Philippines. Confidently grooving to the retro-modern vibe of the track, Ace sheds his reclusive persona for a contemporary pop star character who knows how to charm the dance floor effortlessly. This is Ace like youâve never seen or heard before: a big ball of energy with anabundance of infectious hooks and melodic pop smarts, and a P-Pop sensation capable of delivering adorable moments on screen.
The music video, which was helmed by budding director and 3D artist Reika and choreographed by one of the Philippine All Starâs founders, Lerma Diaz, uncover a fascination with bright, velvety colors and attention-grabbing visual designs. According to Ace, who did the art direction himself, the filming was exceptionally fun with a lot of young creatives having that fire in them, translating his vision into a game-changing end product. âWe are going for heavier aesthetics that go well with my dream and vision for the dance song. I want it to be presented as the happiest song we deserve right now. Iâm confident that weâve delivered that in the music video as well.â
Written and produced by Ace himself, âAliveâ is in itself, a refreshing diversion from his previous releases. It marks a noteworthy shift to a shinier, more club-oriented electronic pop music that has roots in K-Pop, early 2000s bubblegum pop, hip-hop, funk and â70s disco.
âThe brand-new song is a disco pop dance track that builds up to the reminiscence of the classic Manila Sound groove and bilingualism,â Ace adds. âThe production is a mix of modern and retro textures, funky guitar fills, synthesizers, hornsâand yes, disco elements. I also produced it with so many vocal layers to achieve this crowd effect of call-and-response for the pre-chorus and other parts as well. I also added a rap verse in my approach of arranging the song.â
The dancey bop was written overnight somewhere in early January 2021 when the idea of creating a disco-influenced pop/dance banger, came to play. âAll Iâm trying to achieve is actually expressing my true self and what I really want to do,â the promising hitmaker shares. âYes, I write ballads, love songs, and will still release love songs but I do feel like sticking to the ballad formula to succeed in the local scene can be put aside for now.â
âAliveâ is out now on all digital music platforms via Sony Music Philippines. Watch the music video here.

Bangkok Music City goes fully virtual with more than 60 participating Thai and global artists
The showcase festival will feature music performances and talks on gaming, film, soft power and art
Almost 2 years have passed, but COVID-19 is still looming over all of us. With the unpredictable restrictions put on physical events in Thailand, in lieu of its signature staging at the creative district of Chareonkrung, Bangkok Music City (BMC) 2021 is set to take place 100% online via YouTube Live through BMCâs YouTube channel and Gather.Town virtual space from November 20 to 21, 2021.
âLive music and entertainment industries have been hit hard by the pandemic, but we donât want to lose hope and look beyond the pandemic preparing for the time when we can all enjoy âreal lifeâ together once again,â says festival co-founder Piyapong âPyâ Muenprasertdee. âWe strive to make BMC a platform for artists to stay connected with their fanbase, gain new international fans and seek new export opportunities by meeting with music business professionals from all over the world via our virtual networking event,â he adds.
This year, BMC will be featuring 41 Thai and 23 international artists, including 13 from Southeast Asia. As a co-founder and co-organizer of ASEAN Music Showcase Festival or AMS, BMC has also reinvited AMS alumni such as Cambodian hip-hop superstar VannDa and Singaporean indie pop act Sobs, who have cult followings in the US and Southeast Asia. Moreover, from the continued participation of AMS delegate Dexter Sy, Co-founder of Philippinesâ Melt Records, their artists Chelsea Dawn and Francis Cang were included as part of the regional showcase at BMC this year. In addition to its ASEAN neighbors, artists all the way from South Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, Canada, and even the United States will be joining - including Siahna who was on Team Pharrell on Season 9 of NBCâs The Voice.
âNo matter the situation - or even another pandemic, I hope that BMC can be a platform to connect music professionals and artists not only on a professional level, but also build long-lasting relationships and friendships with each other,â Muenprasertdee adds, which reflects in the list of international partners who helped curated artist from around the world such as fellow music conference and showcase festivals: LUCfest and ZAshare of Taiwan, Zandari Festa of South Korea, and Live At Heart of Sweden and Canada; live music booking platform Gigmit; and of course,AMS co-organizers from all over the Southeast Asian region such as The Rest Is Noise from the Philippines, City ROARS! Festival from Malaysia, and Baramey Production from Cambodia.
Representatives of prominent festivals such as Glastonbury Festival and The Great Escape of the UK, SXSW of the US, and Fuji Rock and Summer Sonic of Japan will also be participating as official delegates.
In addition to music, BMC is billed as an entertainment and technology summit featuring talks on gaming, film, soft power and the hottest topic in the art world today - NFTs. However, because of the pandemic preventing most international travel, the organizers of BMC have focused on Thai speakers with an aim of educating the local market. Thus, all conference content will be scoped around the Thai market and in the Thai language - just like last yearâs edition.
This yearâs edition is co-presented by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) of Thailand, with support from Music Copyright (Thailand) Ltd. (MCT).
Visit BMC online (www.bangkokmusiccity.com) and follow their socialâs at www.facebook.com/bangkokmusiccity and www.instagram.com/bangkokmusiccity to find out how to attend free-of-charge.
