JAKARTA, INDONESIA (8 November 2022)—The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has subscribed to around 1 billion shares, worth $12.2 million (approximately 190 billion Indonesian rupiah), as part of the initial public offering (IPO) of PT Jayamas Medica Industri (OneMed) on the Indonesian Stock Exchange.
The proceeds of the IPO will support operational expansion across OneMed’s value chain by doubling the manufacturing facilities from two to four, the number of national distribution centers from one to two, adding 15 warehouses, and 25 new retail stores. Peaceful Gemini finds her way towards introspection and healing on her 4-track EP, Leo Rising
Filipina rapper-songwriter Peaceful Gemini has released a new EP shaped by her personal experiences, ideas, and beliefs.
Aptly titled Leo Rising, the 4-track release maps her journey as a woman finding her way towards self-discovery, healing, and introspection. According to the talented newcomer, her latest EP under Sony Music Entertainment is as personal as it gets, with each song reflecting the reality that she’s going through for the time being--her struggles and newfound learnings included.
“Through time, experience, and maturity, I changed and grew more mindful about my past and my roots, and started connecting with my body, mind, and emotions in order to heal. Leo Rising lands at a perfect time when I was able to address my inner worlds and wounds, and express my truth in a more fierce and radical way.”
The cosmic, soul-inflected EP is produced by Skeematic, who is known for fusing classic boom bap beats with bohemian flair. His work complements Peaceful Gemini’s conscious rap narrative, while maintaining a sense of rawness and grit.
Other collaborators include Nicole Anjela, who provided supporting vocals for “Gising na Gising” and “Moment to Breathe,” and Nuevo for the romantic crossover track “Twin Flame.”
Leo Rising serves as a follow-up to Peaceful Gemini’s Middle of NowHere, a critically acclaimed record that explores spiritual and outside themes within the content of hip-hop. Considered as a bigger sister of Middle of NowHere, Leo Rising is a more matured and evolved affair that comes from a place of awareness.
Its focus track “Moment To Breathe” addresses healing with a deeper perspective. “Being tasked to frontline a shift that can be so fragile as an old world dies and a new paradigm emerges,” Peaceful Gemini shares. “I am facing it all, knowing that I am guided and blessed with the potential of a deeper understanding of an essence beyond me.”
Peaceful Gemini’s new EP, Leo Rising is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

ASEAN India Music Festival to mark triumphant return to Purana Qila, New Delhi this year
The cross-cultural music festival aims to showcase the vast richness of India and Southeast Asian countries’ musical and cultural heritage
ASEAN India Music Festival (AIMF) returns with a more vibrant celebration this year as it fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of the music and artistic traditions as well as promotes cultural exchange between the Southeast Asian region and India.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations, the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with SEHER is organizing the ASEAN-India Music Festival from the 18th to 20th November at Purana Qila, New Delhi. The free event boasts an eclectic lineup that presents the richness of each country’s musical heritage, as well as its shared cultural affinity.
The second edition of the festival will showcase 10 multi-genre contemporary music acts from Southeast Asia, including Empty Wallet from Brunei Darussalam, RizerXSuffer from Cambodia, Riau Rhythm from Indonesia, Lao Traditional Music Troupe from Lao-PDR, Instamuzika from Malaysia, MRTV Modern Music band from Myanmar, Bayang Barrios at Ang Nilayagan from the Philippines, Linying Band from Singapore, Makaohang from Thailand, and Tri Minh’s Quartet from Vietnam.
Five of India’s homegrown acts, Faridkot and Amar Jalal, Jonita Gandhi, Papon, Raghav Meattle, and Vishal and Sheykhar are also set to perform in one of the oldest forts in the union territory. The lineup was curated by SEHER, India’s premier cultural organization that works closely with the Gov’t of India in public diplomacy and promotion of cultural interaction between India and other countries.
The ASEAN acts are recommended by their respective Ministry of Culture and SOMCA, while the Indian artists are carefully selected to complement the diverse artistic backgrounds of their counterparts in the Southeast Asian region.
With its utmost goal of increasing appreciation and awareness of the ASEAN identity amongst creative intellectuals and the public at large, the cross-cultural festival has prepared multiple concerts apart from the main event at Purana Qila.
A special music showcase is slated to take place in Shillong, Meghalaya in Northeast India, on November 22, which is considered to be a gateway to ASEAN and serves as a representation of the ‘Act East’ policy.
"India has been looking up to the west for historical reasons, but thanks to our Hon’ble Prime Minister Modi we are now looking Eastwards through the Act East policy," Mr. Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder Director of SEHER, shares in a statement. "Now that we are organizing the ASEAN India Music Festival, the audience and especially the youth of India will get to see musical traditions and bands from the ASEAN region, which are rarely seen in this part of the world."
After its well-received inaugural edition in 2017, AIMF promises to cultivate a sustained cultural exchange and interaction between ASEAN and India, while championing its unique adoption of traditional and modern music influences and become recognized as the “gateway to ASEAN.”
"We are expecting more traditional instrumentation and how each country is contemporizing its music to fit current trends and the global stage," Bhargava adds. "More important is that they will be playing on the same platform as some of India’s most popular music artists."

ADB, GreenCell Sign $40 Million Financing for Safer E-Buses in India, Especially for Women Commuters
NEW DELHI, INDIA (7 November 2022) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $40 million financing package with GreenCell Express Private Limited (GEPL) to develop 255 electric battery-powered buses (e-buses) to serve 5 million people a year on 56 intercity routes in India and enhance the safety of passengers, especially women, through improved security features including panic buttons connected to command controls for immediate response.
The financial package comprises $20.5 million loan (in equivalent Indian rupee) from ADB’s ordinary capital resources, ADB’s administration of a $14 million loan from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF), grants worth $325,000 from the CTF and $5.2 million from Goldman Sach’s and Bloomberg’s the Climate Innovation and Development Fund (CIDF). ADB also assisted in mobilizing an additional parallel loan of $20.5 million from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
A defining feature of this project is the CIDF grant which will partially finance the decarbonization of 100 of the 255 e-buses by deploying solar power-plus-battery energy storage systems, resulting in the reduction of about 6,355 tons of carbon dioxide a year. Overall, the project will reduce emissions by 14,780 tons a year.
“Decarbonization of public transport in India is essential for the country to reach its net-zero climate commitments, and it’s important to ensure safety and security of women passengers to make travel more inclusive,” said ADB Private Sector Operations Department Director General Suzanne Gaboury. “By providing safe transport for women, these intercity buses will enhance their ability to participate in economic and livelihood opportunities,”
India’s public transport needs are expected to grow rapidly as the country urbanizes. In 2020, road transport accounted for 87% of all passenger trips, 18% of total energy consumption, and 11.7% of greenhouse gas emissions.
Safety features at project bus depots and e-buses will include cameras, panic buttons, adequate depot lighting, seating arrangements, tracking, and awareness-raising materials. Training programs will be held for bus drivers and cabin hosts on safety protocols focused on women passengers. GEPL is also implementing a diversity and inclusion roadmap to initiate a program to build a stronger pool of women in leadership and technical roles.
This project has qualified for a 2x gender financing rating, a challenge launched at the G7 summit in 2018 to encourage gender lens investing among development finance institutions.
“Electrifying transportation is a key driver of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in our cities. This funding accelerates our agenda of promoting and investing in clean and sustainable businesses in India to achieve India’s climate objectives and Sustainable Development Goals,” said EverSource Capital Managing Director and CEO Dhanpal Jhaveri. “With GreenCell Express Private Limited (GEPL) offering, we bring to the intercity bus travel segment, electric buses that reinforce safe, seamless travel experience for new age Indian travellers, especially women."
GEPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of GreenCell Mobility Private Limited (GreenCell), a platform company of Green Growth Equity Fund (GGEF). GGEF is an Indian alternative investment fund in India managed by EverSource Capital with a mandate to mobilize institutional capital into green infrastructure in India.
ADB is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Established in 1966, it is owned by 68 members—49 from the region.

Tom Gregory “Forget Somebody”
With 770m+ global streams under his belt, UK singer-songwriter sensation Tom Gregory (“Fingertips,” “Never Let Me Down,” “Rather Be You”) is about returns with his first new single – “Forget Somebody” He has chosen Sony Music for this new chapter of his career, assembling a team comprising of Epic Germany, B1 France and Columbia UK.
Back from his stellar, sold-out first ever Headline tour through Europe, up-and-coming UK singer-songwriter Tom Gregory kickstarts the next chapter this month with his debut offering for new label Sony Music: “Forget Somebody” is an irresistible uptempo anthem and the first tune off his yet-untitled third full-length. Listen here.
“My dream has always been playing on big festival stages around the world, but then all my success came during Covid, so I had no chance to play the songs live,” says the 26-year-old songwriter from Northern England who released “two albums during the pandemic – a very strange thing to say,” yet managed to land massive hits including “Fingertips,” “Never Let Me Down,” (w/ VIZE), “River,” and “Footprints” along the way.
With 770+m global streams already under his belt, not to mention huge radio hits in major European markets including Germany and France, the Blackpool-born musician has spent the better part of last year in Los Angeles to work on songs that are going to define his forthcoming third full-length offering. “It’s going in a direction that I always wanted to end up in,” he says about the new single “Forget Somebody,” a surprisingly fast-paced track “about trying to move on,” as Tom puts it.
“I would say it’s sad uptempo. It’s not a happy record at all,” he says about the new single that incorporates 80s-flavoured guitars and also nods to his Indie Rock influences. “One thing I learned from playing live and touring is that people love to dance around and to get freaky with uptempo songs. After being gone for a while, I wanted to come out with something that wasn’t a midtempo song. I wanted to make people move.”
“I think you always come to that point in a break-up – when you leave somebody or someone else breaks up with you – where one person moves on, and the other person doesn’t,” he says about the feeling that inspired the new single. “With this song, we wanted to find a way of capturing the struggle of moving on from somebody. Trying to move on in a world with Social Media can be so hard – and I think that’s something a lot of people can relate to.”
Speaking about the forthcoming album he’s currently working on, Tom Gregory wants to create “something that I feel could exist in two different worlds – both on a festival stage and on Pop Radio. I think they are two really difficult things to achieve, separately, but together it’s even harder. Having achieved the radio part with a couple of my earlier songs, I wanted to show that I’m someone who can also exist on an Indie Rock/Pop festival stage – and this new music is me making that transition,” says the young musician whose inspirations range from The Killers and Kings of Leon to Britpop classics and even P!NK (“She’s a rockstar.”).
“I definitely want my music to have as much of a rock/pop edge as possible.” – Tom Gregory
Although he’s been a mainstay across European Pop Radio for years, Tom Gregory actually took a couple of detours to get to where he is today: A rather shy teenager, it was his dad who signed him up to audition for The Voice UK when he was 16 – only to get “knocked back: no one turned around for me,” he says about live audition round in London. Back home in Northern England and fighting with early bouts of depression, he was soon looking for a new outlet, and eventually nicked an acoustic guitar from his school’s music supplies. He tried playing with a band, but that didn’t work, he signed up for a course in music production, and ditched it after just one week to take on a role in BBC series The A Word – yet, “unfortunately, I hated acting!” Starting to work on solo material, he eventually found the right songwriting partners – and used that stolen guitar from his former school to write future hits like “Fingertips”…
With multiple radio #1s under his belt across Europe, Blackpool-born singer and songwriter Tom Gregory has been one of the UK’s biggest exports since the release of his debut single “Run To You” (currently 30+m Spotify) in 2017. His 2020 single “Fingertips” (148m) instantly hit the #1 spot in Germany (airplay) and was certified Gold (Germany) and Platinum (France) across Europe. Hooking up with German production duo VIZE, ‘Never Let Me Down’ (currently 246m+!) immediately went Platinum in Germany, hitting top-10 spots in the Austrian and German sales charts. Following his official debut full-length Heaven In A World So Cold (2020), he returned in 2021 with sophomore release Things I Can’t Say Out Loud – an album that featured multiple hit singles including “River” (68m; #4 airplay GER; top-15 annual German Radio Charts) and airplay smash “Footprints” (40m).

SAM FISCHER RELEASES NEW TRACK ‘CARRY IT WELL’
“Although so many of his songs are deeply personal, his storytelling can be universally appreciated and understood.” Wonderland
“A Lewis Capaldi-flavoured sad song about the difficulties of adapting to LA life” Vogue
“One of the most exciting new artists to date” 1883
“An emerging talent that is singing his way into the hearts of millions” Spindle
“Self-reflective writing to euphoric pop bops–Sam Fischer is spinning setbacks into success” Notion
With over a billion streams to his name, Sam Fischer releases his emotive new track ‘Carry It Well’ through RCA Records. The track focusses on mental health and the famous phrase ‘just because I carry it well, doesn’t mean it isn’t heavy’ - a sentiment so powerful it is resonated with users on TikTok who have flocked to record their own versions of the song on the platform.
Sam said: “Carry It Well is about saying "yeah I'm fine" when asked if you are, even when you're not. You never know what someone might be going through and I think if the past few years have taught us anything, it's how to mask what we can't describe while feeling intensely what we don't understand. I hope Carry It Well can just let people know they're not alone.”
Carry It Well follows his recent singles All My Loving, Hopeless Romantic, hit song This City and duet with Demi Lovato What Other People Say. He has also recently toured with Mimi Webb and Tones & I.
Sam’s debut single This City currently stands at over 500 million worldwide streams and 4 million worldwide sales and stayed in the UK Top 20 for 11 weeks. The track is also double platinum in Australia, platinum in the UK and Gold in the US, New Zealand and Switzerland. Sam also performed the track on US TV, including Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel and The Late Late Show with James Corden. His duet with Demi Lovato What Other People Say has sold over 1 million copies and saw him perform the track on Ellen alongside Demi Lovato. Earlier this year he completed his first live tours in the UK and US, including a packed-out London Garage performance, and recently supported Ashe on tour in the UK and Europe.
Australian born Sam Fischer first introduced himself with his Not A Hobby EP and has achieved well deserved attention since for his heartfelt songs. Touring North America with his friend Lewis Capaldi, he wowed crowds with his buoyant personality and pure love and talent for song-writing. Now based between LA and London, he not only has received acclaim for his own work, but he continues to solidify his spot as one of the hottest current writers, having worked with global pop superstars including Ciara, Cat Burns, Lennon Stella, Louis Tomlinson, Elle King, Jessie J, Virginia To Vegas and many more.
However, it hasn’t all been plain sailing for Sam, who endured his own heartache to achieve his dreams. With the promise of a recording contract in the bag, he set off to LA only for the deal to be pulled away. After months of couch-surfing, he finally and deservedly received his break with This City and project Homework, which has been just the start of an exciting new chapter in Sam’s career with lots more still to come.

Singaporean-Filipino artist Ysa Yaneza seizes the spotlight on self-titled debut EP, YSA
The 4-track EP chronicles her journey towards heartbreak, reinvention, and womanhood
After getting noticed for her empowering electronic pop/R&B anthems, Singaporean Filipina artist Ysa Yanezais ready to step into the spotlight with the release of her self-titled debut EP, YSA.
The 4-track EP offers an honest and visceral look into the process of embracing her true, beautiful self while peeling away, one by one, the trauma and doubts that have come to define her past. It also contains songs that chronicle her journey towards heartbreak, reinvention, and womanhood.
The genre-melding project, which fuses Y2K pop with R&B vocal stylings, Caribbean-tinged beats, and retro-futurist soundscapes, is co-written by Ysa herself along with established collaborators in the global indie/electronic/bedroom music scene. Chicago-based musician and producer Shubu, co-wrote and produced Ysa’s current single "1Nightwitu," while SOLRWAVE co-helmed "Jaded" and "Thinking Of You." The whole EP was mastered by Stuart Hawkes, a sound engineer who has been nominated for a Grammy and worked on records by artists like Charli XCX, Disclosure, Lorde, and Mabel.
"For mastering, things didn’t go as initially planned but fortunately that led me to work with Stuart Hawkes,” the eclectic pop act shares. "I was looking up albums that I really liked from artists I would say influenced my sound and artistry, and that I wanted my songs and EP to have a similar sound direction, and I realized most of them had actually worked with Stuart Hawkes so it was a definite go for me."
YSA stands out with a collection of chest-pounding tunes that brim with emotional sincerity and confidence. The carrier single "1Nightwitu" takes empowerment to an entirely new level, while encouraging her peers and contemporaries to value their self-worth. The island-tinged, dance-pop jam earned glowing reviews from the press, with NME praising the song for "sending out a message of female empowerment" and Nylon Manilacalling it a "tropical house number" that "calls on women to embrace their sexuality."
Other tracks on the album include "Thinking Of You," a chilling slice of midtempo R&B that demonstrates the Singaporean-Filipina’s more sophisticated musical persona; "Jaded," a mid-‘90s, Robyn-inspired tune steeped in the aesthetics and vernacular of a particular generation; and "Jewel," an 8-bit pop tune that serves as a promo single.
"The songs I wrote in this EP describe certain parts of my life that helped me shape who I am today,” says the Softlyartist. “Coming into womanhood, I think it's important to remind ourselves that every single person has their own journey because as young women, we often feel pressure to be a certain way or meet certain standards. I wrote this EP for anyone who's gone through heartbreak, gaslighting, toxic relationships but I also wanted it to serve as a reminder that you can blossom from these gloomy days, find your confidence within, and understand your self-worth.”
Ysa Yaneza will embark on a Manila press tour in November 2022 to promote her self-titled EP, and she will perform her first live show in Manila in December 2022 alongside Singaporean band, M1LDL1FE. Ysa has over 32,600 followers on TikTok thanks to her original skits, style, and personality that she shows off when she is not making music.

Sugar Hiccup, Wolfgang alums form alt-rock supergroup The Mellow Dees, releases debut single “Lamán”
Melody del Mundo, Wolf Gemora, and Robin Rivera team up with Filipino indie label, Lilystars Records for this exciting new release
Unlikely collaborators Melody del Mundo (erstwhile singer for Sugar Hiccup), Wolf Gemora (former drummer for Wolfgang), and guitar whiz Robin Nievera (who’s now chosen to go by the mononym Nievera) have put out new music together as The Mellow Dees.
The dream-pop chanteuse, Pinoy metal alum, and six-string maven may make for strange bedfellows, but if “Lamán,” the maiden single they released today (November 4), has taught us anything, it is that collaboration knows no age, genre, or creed.
Formed in 2019, the trio’s momentum hit a brick wall with the dawning of the global pandemic in 2020. But as they say, a good idea is worth pursuing, and in July of 2021, they reconvened for songwriting sessions and rigorous band rehearsals.
By New Year’s 2022, they have begun recording at Mack Sennet Studios at the Silverlake District of Los Angeles, California: the same hallowed halls luminaries of film (Martin Scorsese, David Lynch) and music (Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, John Legend) have worked.
Today, listeners the world over will get first helpings of the smorgasbord they have concocted for their debut record.
“Lamán” is perhaps the farthest thing from the individual members’ past material. A fusion of reggae, island pop, and kundiman (traditional Filipino folk ballad), the single sees a band cognizant of its roots but also dead set on innovation.
Describing the track as a “a serenade with a different approach,” the band further shares that the tune is “definitely a break from the usual,” being “a heavier and more upbeat track.”
Del Mundo is best known for her ethereal pipe work that harkens back to Cocteau Twins and bands of a similar ilk. Her most popular work with Sugar Hiccup (“Five Years,” “Moden De”) can arguably be described as “beauty beyond speech,” being literal gobbledygook set to sprawling, textural music.
Gemora, meanwhile, drummed on almost everything in the Wolfgang catalog, and was also in the short-lived outfit Lokomotiv with members of Razorback. His propulsive rhythm work served as soundtrack for fans of heavy music in Manila from the ‘90s to the early aughts.
Lastly, Nievera has paved a road independent of his pedigree, cutting records for majors and indies alike while showcasing his chops on guitar and songwriting. His playing is a vibrant intersection of blues rock (Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix), Latin (Carlos Santana), fusion (Eric Johnson), and modern (Prince, The Edge, Jack White, John Mayer).
“Lamán,” as well as the forthcoming full-length record that carries it, is being distributed by Lilystars Records in Manila. Of this exciting new collaboration, label head Clem Castro (Orange & Lemons, The Camerawalls, Dragonfly Collector) says, “It’s a welcome bit of happenstance to be working with legends in the local music scene. Surely a generation I can relate with, as it reminds me of my youth as a music fan.”
The Mellow Dees’ “Lamán” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Lilystars Records.

Global superstar Meghan Trainor releases fourth full-length album, Takin’ It Back
GRAMMY® Award-winning, global superstar Meghan Trainor has released her anxiously awaited fourth full-length album, Takin’ It Back, via Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment. This time around, she made a conscious decision to hark back to the signature sound she introduced on her 2015 full-length debut, TITLE, and bring it forward to today. Listen HERE.
About the album, Meghan said, “I tried to do the doo-wop feel I had at the beginning of my career, but the 2022 version of it. This is from the new Meghan who is a wife and mom with a baby. This is from me right now. I decided to give the people what they want, but with my spices added to it. I wanted to make my Title 2.0.”
To bring the record to life, she worked closely alongside a “core squad” of Gian Stone, Federico Vindver, Sean Douglas, and her brothers Ryan and Justin Trainor out of her own home studio. The first single released from the album “Bad For Me,” featuring Teddy Swims found the powerhouse tapping into her doo wop roots with throwback harmonies underlining a simmering groove as she opened up lyrically. Her second release, “Don’t I Make It Look Easy” is a track with anthemic energy that resonates for many, especially mothers, who juggle so many things and yet make it look so easy.
Accompanying the album’s release is a video for Meghan’s new single, “Made You Look.” The spunky track has horns that pipe up as her doo-wop harmonies double up the attitude on the chorus, “I could have my Gucci on. I could wear my Louis Vuitton, but even with nothing on, betI made you look.” The vibrant and stylized music video sees Meghan moving between different colorful worlds – from Hollywood set ups to a big finale dance performance. By Meghan’s side are TikTok personalities Chris Olsen, Remi Bader, Becca Means, Drew Afualo, along with JoJo Siwa, Scott Hoying, and husband Daryl Sabara. Watch HERE.
Regarding “Made You Look,” Meghan said, ““After having a baby, I struggled really hard to feel sexy. I actually wrote this song when I was ass-naked singing the chorus in the shower,” she admits. “I can wear all of these gorgeous things, but I look better without all of that shit on. I wrote a self-love anthem for myself. Even though you had a baby, went through it, and your body shows it, you’re still sexy.”
Takin’ It Back integrates doo-wop and classic harmonies into one anthem after another taking you through Meghan’s journey into marriage, motherhood, and achieving a new level of confidence.

The mandate will help the country achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Under this mandate, ADB will help EDC conduct a nationwide study on opportunities for additional solar power capacity in combination with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), to be implemented from this year through 2030. ADB will also assist EDC in bidding out a 100-megawatt pilot project identified under the study to the private sector, which will build, finance, and operate the project. The pilot project is expected to mobilize up to $100 million of investments and serve as a model to replicate fast and efficient procurement of affordable renewable power in Cambodia.
This development of 2 GW of solar power is in line with the strategy of the Cambodian government to meet its growing energy demand by maximizing the adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency. Key to this strategy will be harnessing Cambodia’s abundant solar resources, whose share in the installed capacity increased from practically nothing in 2016 to around 12% at the end of 2021.
“This program will be Cambodia's most ambitious yet in the renewable sector,” said Head of ADB’s Office of Public–Private Partnership F. Cleo Kawawaki. “It will lower electricity costs and improve energy security by taking advantage of domestic resources. We hope to contribute to this effort by supporting a well-planned pipeline for transparent bids that attract active competition to optimize the efficiency, innovation, and capital of the private sector to benefit the people of Cambodia.”
Cambodia’s new Power Development Masterplan recognizes the potential to further expand the capacity of solar PV, which is expected to exceed 3 GW in 2040. As the share of solar increases, there is a need to improve grid stability through the adoption of BESS.
“ADB is pleased to support a green energy transition in Cambodia that will promote clean, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth through policy reform in energy planning and governance, improving grid stability, and energy efficiency,” said ADB Country Director for Cambodia Jyotsana Varma.
The mandate builds on ADB’s earlier support to Cambodia’s solar sector, including through the country’s first National Solar Park located in Kampong Chhnang, which will generate up to 100 MW of solar power. The program will also build on BESS projects implemented by EDC with technical and financial assistance provided by ADB.
ADB is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Established in 1966, it is owned by 68 members—49 from the region

Ruel releases confessional pop single “SOMEONE ELSE’S PROBLEM”
The British-Australian artist captures perfectly the feeling of letting in his second official single
British-Australian singer/songwriter and pop prodigy Ruel is back with the second official single from his highly anticipated debut record, “SOMEONE ELSE’S PROBLEM,” out now via RCA Records.
Written and produced alongside longtime collaborator, M-Phazes (Khalid, Sam Fischer & Noah Cyrus) with songwriters John Levine (Bebe Rehxa, Alessia Cara) and Casey Smith (Olivia Rodrigo), the track oscillates between regretful nostalgia and self-empowerment, displaying another side to the songwriter. Driven by gritty, pop-infused production, the hypnotic track sees Ruel effortlessly floating between confessional-style lyricism and soulful croons, as he perfectly captures the all too relatable feeling of letting go.
On the inspiration behind the song, Ruel shares,“SOMEONE ELSE’S PROBLEM is about that feeling you get when you realize the benefits that only the end of a relationship can bring. When you look through a different lens at all the time you spent with that special someone and realize you’re way better off without them. I wanted to write something with subject matter that was more lighthearted, kinda funny but still empowering. I really love this song and I hope my fans can relate to it and feel better about themselves after a shitty break up.”
After surprising his U.S. fans with a secret show at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn to commemorate the third anniversary of his critically acclaimed Free Time EP, Ruel is fresh from a run of sold-out pop-up shows in London, Paris and Berlin in support of previous single ‘YOU AGAINST YOURSELF.’ He then hits the festival circuit in November where he will headline the international music festival Riverfest, before taking the stage at GudFest in Jakarta.
Earlier this year Ruel kicked off his slate of new music with the intricately crafted pop song, “GROWING UP IS___.” The anthemic single quickly racked up over 45 million + combined streams and earned him a Best Solo Artist nomination at the 2022 Aria Awards and Best Australian at the European Music Awards (an award he’s won 2 out of the last 3 years). Adding to his existing repertoire of over 2 billion streams worldwide, the influential singer/songwriter has crafted an impressive body of work that includes the multi-platinum singles “Younger,” “Dazed & Confused,” and the Top 10 global smash turned triple-platinum song, “Painkiller.” His already decorated career includes a MTV Europe Music Award, a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award, an ARIA Award, and five ARIA Award nominations.

36: A New Adventure
Transit Dialog has published my essay, 36: A New Adventure. Here it is:
“𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯. 𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.”
𝟯𝟲: 𝗔 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
𝘉𝘺 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘢 𝘎𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘓𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘴
I turned 36 a few days ago. My boyfriend took me to Boracay, where we had a few days of well-deserved rest.
It was my first time to celebrate my birthday out of town with a partner, and by the beach no less. I felt like I had the time of my life, and it did feel like a new beginning.
Looking back, I knew that the ocean waters were therapeutic. Having barely any internet connection in our mountain accommodation on the island was helpful, since I felt untethered. It was the perfect setting for a few realizations over calamansi muffins and strong coffee.
I know by now that age is just a number. While I am blessed with a youthful vibe which lets people mistake me for still being twenty-something, I know that it is my positive attitude that really keeps me going.
While most people I know are pressured by timelines in their life, I am just cruising along. I do not pressure myself to reach milestones because I am aware that I have my own time. I have been blessed with the right people in my life, and while I do live in a small circle, I know that I am able to live a good life with the people whom I trust. And I know that my partner has a similar mindset, so I am not pressured at all to be in a hurry.
The best thing about being 36 during a waning yet very real global pandemic is that I am proceeding with caution. I have celebrated the past two birthdays on lockdown. This is the first time that I am actually free to roam around and eat out. Yet, I am still aware of the brevity of life and the threat of an unseen virus. I will not allow them to dampen my spirits. I have not lived this long to simply give up on life. There is still so much to enjoy, and it is up to me to live in the moment.
In the coming year of my life, I am determined to savor every experience. I am given more freedom as the pandemic diminishes, and I am excited to read more books, sip more coffee at cafes, watch more movies, and see more art. I look forward to watching live gigs again.
I am into fitness, and I wish to workout again at the park. I am eager to indulge in the latest gastronomic delights, attending the Manila International Book Fair where I was presented as a published author, and buying groceries at the supermarket.
I have always been a simple person, and I know how to make myself happy. I will continue living for the joys that make life meaningful, because I know by now that I deserve to be happy.
If you feel pressured to reach specific milestones at a certain age, stop right now. Life is not about making things happen. It is about being happy and savoring each moment.
If you will continue pressuring yourself, especially when the elements needed to fulfill these goals are still absent from your life, then you will never be happy and content. You will simply chase dreams which are not even yours to begin with, and this is unhealthy.
For starters, you must live the life that you have on your own terms. Find the courage to do so, and living will never feel like a chore again. Instead, it will feel like the exciting journey that it really is to begin with. Your journey commences once you are brave enough to simply be yourself.
You deserve to live the life where you are the main character.

Malaysian singer-songwriter liesl-mae opens up about depression on her new single ‘Raincloud’
Malaysia-based singer-songwriter liesl-mae reflects on her struggles with mental health in her compelling new single “Raincloud.” Addressing the cyclical nature of depression and its damning effects, the inspiring young artist hopes to engage in a discussion to dismantle the social stigmas surrounding mental health.
The song begins with a posed question: “When was the last time you felt happy?” On the surface, it is a seemingly benign inquiry. However, unable to respond, the question initiates an unexpected internal monologue traversing the uniquely human blight of depression and anxiety. Artfully woven together with vivid metaphor and thoughtful lyricism, liesl-mae puts the feelings of hopelessness into words that creep malignantly into one’s mind – lying restlessly in wake.
Her pristine vocals shine brightly through the track’s guitar-driven melodies, ambient pads, and pulsating basslines. Gradually building up from an intimate, campfire-esque start to a grandiose conclusion, the track brims with elaborate orchestral arrangements and ebullient drumming. An old soul at heart, liesl-mae’s deceptively simple songwriting has captivated the hearts and minds of her rapidly growing constituent of fans, desperate to seek out a voice that speaks to their own experiences.
On writing about mental health, a topic the burgeoning songstress handles with the utmost care and consideration, liesl-mae approaches “Raincloud” as if it were an “open letter to depression” itself. Steering clear of accusatory language or being overly critical of herself, the song’s gentle and unassuming approach to storytelling allows it to explore some of life’s most difficult, and oftentimes pertinent, questions in a congenial manner. Despite how life may appear on the outside, the song is in essence about “feeling bad for feeling bad.”
The inexplicable nature of depression causes a neurotic downward spiral into self-loathing – “wishing bad things upon myself to make up for feeling bad” explains liesl-mae. “For the first time, I channelled anger into my music… [It’s] an emotion I'm not used to outwardly expressing. Carefully crafting the sonics of the track with Mixed by Wong (engineer), “Jose Ong (producer) was really able to bring those feelings to life with the arrangement of this song. It was a very cathartic experience to be able to let it all out.”
Having opened for the Here Comes July pre-listening party for Sinarku on the 27th of August, liesl-mae also made her festival debut at Good Vibes Weekender on 24 September, alongside the likes of Jackson Wang, Pink Sweat$, and beabadoobee, to name a few. Working towards the release of her first full-length EP in the former half of 2023, liesl-mae’sartistic sails have just begun to unfurl.
“Raincloud” is out now on all digital music platforms via OFFMUTE.
