SB19 addresses critics on the arcade game-inspired music video of “Bazinga”
The globally renowned pop group takes the visuals to the next level with themes of graffiti, gaming, and superhero noir
Filipino pop supergroup SB19 has officially dropped the music video for “Bazinga,” the third single off their critically acclaimed EP, Pagsibol.
Set in an underground combat zone, the music video shows the multi-awarded quintet defeating their enemies in an Arcade combat game. In true SB19 fashion, it also doubles as an up-in-arms statement against the unwarranted criticisms hurled at the P-Pop group since the beginning of their music journey.
The song itself is written as a response to the hostility that is rapidly proliferating on the Internet, and a wakeup call for the band to focus their energy instead on meaningful expressions of art and music, and the love that they’ve been getting from fans all over the world. “One way to lighten the load is by writing a song that proves that we won’t back down to the negative comments and we’ll persevere,” the chart-topping boyband shares in a statement. “As it says from the lyrics, ‘Hate niyo’ygasolina’ - we continue to flourish and emerge as better individuals, despite the hostility.”
The “Bazinga” MV is directed by Jonathan Tal Placido, and co-directed by Chapters, the production team behind their post-apocalyptic “What?” video. SB19’s very own Justin de Dios also heavily contributed to the concept of the material, which blends themes of graffiti, gaming, and superhero noir against a chaotic but visually interesting anti-establishment backdrop.
The release of the music video comes off the heels of SB19’s nomination at the prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Southeast Asia act. According to SB19, being nominated alongside the region’s biggest names is already an achievement, and makes them work even harder to put the Filipino music on the international map.
“The BBMA nomination was a big, big thing for us already. Now being nominated for the EMAs, which is another prestigious and well-known award-giving body, has us so overjoyed,” SB19 says. “And being backed up by our loved ones, and A’TIN, further motivates us to keep pushing on. We hope to keep up the traction and to hit our goals of introducing Philippine music globally.”
Aside from their notable achievements, the envelope-pushing pop ensemble and their label, Sony Music Philippines, will be releasing an exclusive line of merch slated to drop before Christmas. A representative from the label shares that the project stands out in terms of visuals, packaging, and presentation, and is aligned with the group’s global appeal and branding. “This line of merch is different from those previously available, and it went through a lot of revisions and quality checks to ensure that the products are top-notch. The look and feel is premium, plus fans can’t get these items anywhere else.”
SB19 will also headline Our Zone 2021: Anniversary Concert, featuring performances, games, special guests, and surprises. The special event, which will stream live on 27 Nov 2021 (Sat) 5PM PHT and 28 Nov 2021 (Sun) 5PM PHT, marks the Pinoy boyband’s third anniversary celebration. Tickets are available at ktx.ph and www.sb19ozone.com.

Camila Cabello embraces her Latina roots with pop edge on new single “Oh Na Na”
Listen to Camila Cabello’s new single “Oh Na Na”
Off the heels of her latest release, “Don’t Go Yet,” three-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated, multi-platinum, and chart-topping singer/songwriter Camila Cabello teams up with platinum-selling star Myke Towers and critically acclaimed top producer/artist Tainy on her new song, “Oh Na Na”—out today via Epic Records/Sony Music.
An upbeat bilingual song that mixes English lyrics with Spanish, “Oh Na Na” finds Camila exploring her Latina roots, while embracing her incredibly infectious pop and urban-leaning past. With percussion-infused beats and clubby melodies on its arsenal, the earworm of a bop shows Camila’s versatility as a vocalist, and how capable she is in introducing music with profound cultural histories to the streaming generation.
“Oh Na Na” serves as the second single from her upcoming third studio album Familia. Her new track was written by Tainy, Camila Cabello, Ilya Salmanzadeh, Savan Kotecha, Alejandro Borrero, Ivanni Rodríguez, Myke Towers and Rickard Goranssonand, and was produced by Reggaeton hitmaker Tainy of NEON 16. The latter is known for some of the biggest worldwide hits of recent years, including J Balvin's “Mi Gente” and Cardi B's “I Like It.”
A few days ago, Camila teased her fans on social media with the cover art of “Oh Na Na” which shows tropical-influenced visuals filled with vibrant colors, summer fruits, and eccentric drawings. To date, the Instagram post gathered more than 500,000 likes on the platform, and got her fans ecstatic over her new music era.

Twisted at 25
Twisted 25th Anniversary Edition by Jessica Zafra was a source of joy. I was born in 1986, so when I was reading her column in 1994, I just realized now that I was quite precocious. Having said that, her book of articles from the 90’s was a blast from the past. It has been ages since I read the words beeper, biodata, cassette, videotape, fax, and many more. I love Jessica’s wit and sarcasm, and her sense of irony was pretty much how I learned context clues in grade school. Reading her stories again made me realize that the 90’s may sound like a faraway time, but in reality, it still remains relevant.
I am still making sense of the world we live in during the pandemic, but Jessica’s love letter to the 90’s helped me remember a simpler time when R.E.M ruled supreme and the Eraserheads (which Jessica has formerly managed) toured America. I remain to be her fan and avid reader. Her website, http://www.jessicarulestheuniverse.com/, is her writing depository, and I highly recommend it. Her writing workshop schedules are also posted there. I am planning to join her classes someday.
Bajula hits the sweet spot between ‘90s R&B and modern electronic soul on “Catching You”
Watch the official music video for the eclectic duo’sdebut single
Formed during the onset of the pandemic, production duo Bajula is blazing new paths forward with their nostalgic, homemade take on R&B, soul, and electronic music. While only a few thousands of listeners have probably heard of the indie project, Alvin “Vertigo” Guanlao and Jolo “Frazier” Juatco have found refuge in expressing one’s feelings and journey through this particular kind of accessible, DIY music.
“Given that we have been in the same band for the last decade, myself being the drummer and synths player, and Vertigo being the lead vocalist and guitarist for a band named Admiral Peppery, it was easy to start something new,” says Frazier. “During the recent wave of the pandemic, Vertigo and I had a concept about creatingsomething different and is not the usual in terms of what we’ve previously done (like playing our usual instruments and style). To add, we always wanted to sing and groove to our songs without holding/playing our usual instruments.”
Far removed from the unapologetically brash attitude of their other band, Admiral Peppery, Bajula is a more polished, pop-oriented project that brings to mind a more contemporary version of New Edition or Keith Sweat. But instead of completely surrendering to the whims of mainstream radio, their music brims with experiments and sophisticated details done right. During the past few months, the eclectic duo began writing and producing songs that would form their upcoming 7-track album, Sensual Dance Club.
Their first single “Catching You” was the last track to be written and produced off their soon-to-be-released record. Built around unassuming restraint and laid-back production, Bajula’s latest song finds both Vertigo and Frazier singing about the pitfalls of a romantic relationship over ’90s-inspired R&B melodies and spare instrumentation. It’s a debut tour-de-force: a vintage slow jam whose production exudes confidence and flow, but never leaning towards the flashy side of things.
Frazier penned “Catching You” during the momentum of a creative breakout, with the duo wanting to challenge themselves to create another song to complete the album. “I’ve always wanted to tell stories through flashes of scenarios instead of being direct,” the synth player, keyboardist, and co-vocalist of Bajula admits. “I always had the urge to add an R&B-ish ‘mood song’ that tackles the more mature side of romantic storytelling. Catching You is confrontational as it is drunken: delivered from the perspective of someone talking to no one but himself, and admitting that there’s work that needs to be done in order for the relationship to work.”
The smooth, soulful track is accompanied by a self-produced music video that highlights their utter inability to look cool and serious. Dressed in canary suits and New Jack Swing-inspired visuals, both Frazier and Vertigo sways and grooves awkwardly while trying to win someone’s heart with their unpretentious impression of late ‘80s to early ‘90s R&B boyband music.
“The concept was basically just us introducing our style and music to the public; it’s just the two of us singing and showing our awkward dancing skills mixed with some retro 80’s vibe,” Vertigo explains in a statement. “It’s a DIY music video directed by us and Hennie Ken Avila. He is also our sound engineer so working with him is always a breeze.”
The music video serves as an attempt to give their audience an idea on the actual song performance. “We did it all DIY,” shares Frazier. “As independent artists, it’s a humbling experience to take control of the visual narrative and reflect ideas on something that is representative of your art. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far as a creative team.”
“Catching You” is the first single off Bajula’s planned 7-track EP called ‘Sensual Dance Club.’ Watch the music video here.

Filipino actor Piolo Pascual stars in the music video for Cheats’ new single “Hakbang”
Watch the official music video of Cheats’ “Hakbang.”
Award-winning actor Piolo Pascual stars in the music video for Cheats’ melancholic new single “Hakbang,” the first single off their upcoming third studio album.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Quark Henares, the black and white visuals find Pascual dealing with a nervous breakdown in his own apartment, while the band members of Cheats are in the background, trying to cope with the challenging times by acting relaxed and normal.
The music video ends with the Filipino actor joining Cheats in a dance sequence choreographed by PJ Rebullida.
“I think everything about this thing happened at the perfect time,” says lead vocalist and guitarist Jim Bacarro in a statement. “I’ve always wanted to work with Quark and Piolo. We’ve been long-time fans of their work, and I’m glad that they’re game to collaborate with us on this special project.”
Written in English during the onset of the pandemic last year, “Hakbang” was originally conceived as part of Bacarro’s solo album. But plans changed along the way, and Bacarro asked his friend, Ali Sangalang of Linya-Linyato translate the song into Filipino.
“It fits because thematically, the song was meant to sound like Filipino pop bands in the ‘70s ala Cindrella,” says the Cheats frontman. “I think it finally feels right because of how we’re writing it. Ali and I have been writing a bunch of songs together in Tagalog.”
The track was recorded at Kodama Studios, with Mikey Amistoso as producer.

syd hartha reflects complicated attitude towards love and relationships on folk-pop single “kung nag-aatubili”
The Filipino singer-songwriter’s latest song will be part of her upcoming 2022 EP
Filipino singer-songwriter syd hartha returns to her roots on the stripped-down single “kung nag-aatubili.”
The folk-pop tune will be part of her upcoming 5-track EP to be released in the first quarter of 2022, and serves as her first original material for 2021 after contributing vocals for Tokimeki Records’ city pop-inspired “Carnival” and participating in Coke Studio Season 4.
According to the 19-year-old artist, “kung nag-aatubili” reflects her complicated attitude towards romantic relationships and intimacy, which stemmed from the traumatic experiences that she endured during her younger years.
“I wrote this song a long time ago when I realized that I was starting to like someone, and I was already starting to let that person in my world, little by little,” syd admits. “Back then it just didn't feel right, and I feared the idea of getting to know me deeply and everything I’ve become. Looking at it in the present, I figured that these feelings are a by-product of the inner wounds, and my inability to move forward from the things that happened in the past. This also serves as an important lesson to me, that when I decide to commit to love someone, I should love them for who they are now, and accept them for what they’ve been through.”
Dialing back her sound to its bare essentials without sacrificing her newfound maturity in songwriting, sydhartha has penned another understatedly beautiful track that feels more introspective than her usual confessional entries.
Marked by warm, laid-back guitar arrangements and soothing vocals, “kung nag-aatubili” starts restrained but assured of its exquisiteness, and builds into a musical wanderlust towards the end. In terms of production, her goal is to make it as raw and intimate as possible, arriving with the promise of a home—strong, unapologetic, but comfortable in her own shedding.
The song will be accompanied by a music video slated to be released in the coming weeks. The visual treatment is conceptualized by syd herself, who in turn, wants to make the storytelling mirror her personal truths. “For this music video, Swimming Pictures helped me execute my own ideas and it was amazing working with them,” says the folk-pop act.

Buscalan Ink
I recently got inked by Grace Palicas, the grandniece of Apo Whang-Od. She was in Manila for a few days, and I caught one of her mambabatok sessions. I chose their design for prayer, as I wanted to symbolize that my faith is bigger than the sky, which is represented by my star tattoo.
It was not painful at all. It was rather uncomfortable but I would recommend it because Grace has a light and steady hand. She also inks quickly and efficiently. My tattoo was done in twenty minutes.
You may visit Grace Tattoo Buscalan on Facebook to follow her upcoming tours and schedules both in and out of her hometown. It was an honor to be inked by a true artist, and now, friend.
Khalid captures the feeling of romantic togetherness on R&B ballad “Present”
American multi-platinum star Khalid has officially dropped his new single “Present,” a romantic R&B ballad off his upcoming mixtape, Scenic Drive.
The slow jam serves as Khalid’s latest release since “New Normal,” which landed on all music platforms a few months ago. According to Khalid, “Present” was inspired by the music he grew up with, and the determination to push himself creatively during the recording.
“My Mom raised me on R&B and whether it’s the harmonies or melodies, it will always be a part of my music, the certified chart-topper says. “Present is just the beginning and I love that it has a dual meaning. It feels good to be more ‘present’ after such a trying year in the pandemic and it’s also a ‘present’ for my fans that have been with me every step of the way.”
Upon its debut, the song instantly earned heaps of approval from several music publications. Hypebeastpraised its “deep R&B sound,” while Complexcommended how Khalid’s vocals are always on-point, and how it “floats over a melodic R&B joint, carried by some silky guitar strums.”
Continuing his consistent run of pop-informed urban tracks in 2021, “Present” captures the warm, soothing feeling of wanting to be constantly together with your loved one. The new track will be part of Scenic Drive, which will be released on December 3rd, 2021. The highly anticipated mixtape arrives as a companion piece to his 2018 Sun City EP.

NOBITA embraces kundiman sensibilities on tender ballad “Di Na Mag-iisa”
Now officially signed to Sony Music Philippines, the IKAW LANG hitmakers are ready to leave a lasting mark in the industry
NOBITA’s rapid rise is no longer a mystery to music fans who have been familiar with their poignant song “Ikaw Lang,” which currently ranks as the third most streamed single on Spotify Philippines as of today. In less than two years, the pop-rock outfit has built an impressive portfolio by releasing songs that capture the beating heart of the young generation, and bringing light, love, and inspiration to as many people as possible.
The five-piece hitmakers have indeed come a long way from their humble beginnings as semi-finalists of the prestigious battle of the bands, Muziklaban. Thanks to the overwhelming success of “Ikaw Lang,” which has amassed over 40 million streams on all digital music platforms combined, NOBITA is putting their own spin tothe school of ‘hugot’ pop songwriting with their trademark tenderness and inevitable warmth.
Now officially signed to Sony Music Philippines, NOBITA is ready to leave a lasting mark with the release of their new single “Di Na Mag-iisa.” Blending sparse, soulfulinstrumentation with words of romantic earnestness, the song stays loyal to the classic formula that made “Ikaw Lang” and “Unang Sayaw,” remarkable hits, while embracing the sensibilities of a kundiman—a genre of traditional Filipino love songs that express intense longing and devotion with someone you care deeply about. Thesong also shares the same chord progression with their other track “The Search Is Over,” which is currently the only English song released by NOBITA.
According to vocalist Jaeson Felismino, “Di Na Mag-iisa” is inspired by the wedding vows that he has witnessed through the years, which shaped his views on love and the many layers that surround its existence. “The song is about the kind of affection that you've never known, a connection that is stronger than anything else in this world, a sense of serenity and happiness that is beyond your imagination. It sums up that very rare fondness of being one with that kindred soul, and finally confirming to the rest of the world that you are not alone anymore.”
The song was written, arranged, and produced by the band with guidance from their producer, Isagani Palabyabof Monostery Studio. Without overdoing the music treatment, NOBITA stripped things down with a simple, soaring melody and an inescapable chorus that work sonically within their realm. The result is a heartwarming pop song that understands how feelings work, and how it sometimes pushes people to be the best version of themselves. “We just want to convey that they should not despair because there is someone destined for them,” drummer Roman Lester Moñegas shares. “We don’t want our listeners to lose hope. We’ll never know tomorrow brings.”
NOBITA is currently working on some new songs, including a Christmas-inspired tune to get us in the mood for the holidays. They’re also slated to release a variety of material soon under Sony Music Philippines, their music label. “Being a part of this label is truly an honor; hence, pressure grows,” guitarist Sam Aquino says. “But we're ready to take the challenge and up our game.”

UE Jam Sessions encourage the youth to rock the vote with inspiring new anthem “Pinto”
Young artists COSINE, Shareena, and Autumn Tandogdeliver a bluesy tune with a compelling message about the upcoming 2022 elections
Promising newcomers COSINE, Shareena, and Autumn Tandog team up for a song that encourages the general public to vote for competent candidates who are willing to take a stand on important social issues and make a significant change.
On the rousing anthem “Pinto,” the artists from UE Jam Sessions call for effective leadership and urge their fellow countrymen, particularly the young ones, to exercise their right to vote.
According to its main songwriter Shareena, who also lend her smooth and smoky vocals on the track, “Pinto” is penned from the perspective of someone convincing the youth to take complete ownership of their destiny and elect someone who cares about welfare of its people.
“By describing what the outside world looks like in a cruel reality, with the struggles of the people who are always overlooked, the character puts the kid in a dilemma of choosing between taking responsibility for making a change and having these people who have been knocking on his door forsaken and left behind,” the 17-year-old singer-songwriter shares the meaning behind their new track. "Hinihintay ka na nila," which means ‘they are waiting for you,’ serves as a reminder that their fate, like yours, is now completely in your control. It is your job to decide and select the finest alternative in this regard. That’s how Pinto was made to be remembered: a song that knocks on everyone’s doors of perceptions, obliging them to make a move.”
With its gothic, bluesy nature and brassy confidence, “Pinto” delivers an unconventional sound by pop standards. Shareena and Autumn Tandog put their ethereal spin on the material, singing as if they’re witnessing history unfold. Paolo Barrado and Marvin Cayosa’s intricate arrangements, on the other hand, turn the retro-inspired, musical motif into a modern torch tune inspired by the likes of Bita and the Botflies and Lana del Rey.
COSINE’s Marvin Cayosa shares that despite limitations that took place during the pandemic, the producers were able to improvise, and the artists were able to record separately from their respective homes. “Given that we are in a pandemic, it’s been challenging for us to record because we are far apart. When I received the demo that Shareena gave to us, I started working on it right away. With the lack of equipment and hours of trial and error in recording my part, we still managed to pull it off.”
“Pinto” is one of the new music projects spearheaded by UE Jam Sessions, with 12 Stone Records’ Tommy Tanchanco and SSG President Nexie Joy Salvadorserving as Executive Producers, and Choi Felipe mixing and mastering the entire track. The music video for the track is edited by Cher Manulit.
“Pinto” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide such as Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer.

Mind your back: What may seem like yourusual back pain can be Axial Spondyloarthritis
A mysterious backache could mean a lot of things. It could simply be from overuse or a small injury, or it could also be a telltale sign of Axial Spondyloarthritis.
Axial Spondyloarthritis is an inflammatory disease of the axial skeleton and it can cause significant pain and, possibly, complete disability if not treated. It is also a highly heritable disease, so families with a history of arthritis are at higher risk.
Axial Spondyloarthritis typically starts in early adulthood, even referred to by some as the “disease of the young.” Global studies reveal that there is an average diagnostic delay of 7 years for most patients, primarily because Axial Spondyloarthritis presents itself only as persistent pain in the lower back during the first few years. During this time, however, the disease would have already progressed, leading to irreversible damage.
It is for this reason that Johnson & Johnson (Philippines), Inc. (J&J) has partnered with theDepartment of Health (DOH), Philippine Rheumatology Association (PRA), and Axial Spondyloarthritis Association of the Philippines (ASAPh) to create greater awareness for Axial Spondyloarthritis, and encourage suspect patients to seek medical help.
The importance of catching the disease early
The lack of awareness among the public and the lack of familiarity with the disease among primary care providers have resulted in fewer referrals to specialists and delay in diagnosis of patients.
“Axial Spondyloarthritis is fairly common and so are its symptoms,” said Dr. Bernadette Manapat-Reyes, chair of the Philippine Rheumatology Association for Spondyloarthritis. “The most common symptom is prolonged pain in the lower back. Some people also experience pain in the hips, swelling of joints, episodes of eye inflammation, and even weight loss.”
“While there is no permanent cure for Axial Spondyloarthritis, its symptoms can be managed and the speed of its progression can be reduced with early diagnosis and appropriate treatment.”
At best, Axial Spondyloarthritis can be managed with regular exercise and physical therapy. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, and injectable biologics can also be used to help stop inflammation in patients.
“Together with DOH, PRA, ASAPh, and J&J, we conducted a lay forum last July 22 entitled Inflammatory Back Pain: Ating Suriin, Ating Alamin! to educate more Filipinos about chronic and debilitating conditions such as Axial Spondyloarthritis. We frequently distribute reference materials too, so that more people would become aware of the complications that follow this chronic, inflammatory rheumatic disease if not acted upon immediately. It is also PRA and ASAPh's plea to make medications more accessible to patients in need,” added Dr. Reyes.
“We know Axial Spondyloarthritis has an early onset, but life doesn’t have to stop when it happens,” said Dr. Erwin Benedicto, head of Medical Affairs at Johnson & Johnson (Philippines), Inc. “If you have been experiencing symptoms of Axial Spondyloarthritis, it is very important that you see a specialist immediately. You shouldn’t delay this because the disease can be crippling if left unchecked.”
“Axial Spondyloarthritis is a lifelong condition that may affect you differently at different times. Creating a treatment plan with your rheumatologist can greatly help in dealing with the challenges that come with living with Axial Spondyloarthritis.”

of Mercury navigates new phase in music journey with two-track release, CHANGIN’ vol. 1
Listen to the band’s new single “I’M FINE”
of Mercury, formerly known as Nathan & Mercury, marks a new chapter in their music journey with the release of their two-track volume, CHANGIN’ Vol. 1—out today via Sony Music Philippines.
The dual release, which features the songs “I’M FINE” and “HEAVEN ON EARTH,” finds the band pushing their sound to an unexpected direction and displaying remarkable consistency in terms of musicality and songwriting. “Think of this release as a re-introduction to us,” of Mercury explains. “This release is a statement from us that we’re growing, we’re changing: a foretaste of what the album is going to be.”
Gleaming with funkier, hip-hop-leaning sounds and edgy production techniques, both tracks assert something that has been proven from the early stages of their career: they’re technically impressive as musicians, but they never let the stylistic explorations get in the way of their soulful, confessional storytelling.
Focus track “I’M FINE” is a tangible proof of the band’s insistence to write songs that come from a place of earnestness. According to of Mercury, it’s a song about moving on and picking one’s self up from all the internal brokenness, even after being betrayed by someone who used to be important. “It was one of the biggest heartbreaks we’ve ever witnessed as a band,” the Fake Love act shares in a statement. “When we wrote this, we had this realization that we’re actually fine now and we don’t really care about the people that hurt us already.”
The song was written, arranged, and produced by of Mercury with no general idea of how it’s going to come out. While it sounds polished with the right balance of organized dissonance and pop sensibility, “I’M FINE” is one of the those tracks that didn’t really have a direction or a goal, but all the sonic elements blend together seamlessly to create something that is familiar yet uniquely of Mercury.
“The writing was fine because we knew where to pull from, but when we got into the production, we couldn’t think of how we wanted this to sound sonically,” of Mercury admits. “We have to start from somewhere, so we randomly thought a bunch of elements onto the song, and continued throwing ideas with no pegs, no direction, whatsoever. This is the same reason why we’re starting off with this track, it was really an unknown space for us and we’re just really happy we were able to pull it off, and that everyone genuinely enjoyed this process.”
of Mercury’s new single “I’M FINE” also features Michael Flores a.k.a. Filipino rapper Hijo, who in turn, spat bars with incredible range and energy. “Hijo had a great sense of how to work with others and how to keep the vibe relaxed and fun,” says the alternative quartet. “Working with Hijo reflected how much we enjoy working with others, especially when we get the ball rolling. Everyone just bounces off each other’s ideas, expressions, opinions. It’s where we all do our best; it’s a great feeling to have with everyone.”
This particular project also marks a reunion with former bandmate Karlo Maglasang (knōwmaad) who used to play bass for the band. “To have him around after not working together for a while really brought a different view on what we were doing. We also felt like, it’s as if he never left at all. Everything felt natural and everyone was on the same wavelength.”
A music video for “I’M FINE” will be released soon.
“I’M FINE” and “HEAVEN ON EARTH” are part of the two-track volume, CHANGIN’ Vol. 1, which serves as a reintroduction of a ‘new’ old band who have found themselves reconnecting for the same goals, despite having difficulties in compromising from the beginning of their journey. By changing their moniker to of Mercury, the acclaimed quartet is ready to start a new milestone in music and get things together with a common set of values.
In a statement posted across social networking platforms, the band cited their creative and personal disagreements as the two main reasons of the initial fallout, which caused the hiatus. At some point, the band decided to take a step back, work on their differences internally, and restart anew under a name that they feel would represent them better as artists.
“The name (of Mercury) change brought a sense of unity within us, and we didn’t want to be exclusive about it,” of Mercury shares. “Yes, we’re part of this, but we want the people we get to work with and those who support this thing we’re doing to have a certain position to say that they are a part ‘of Mercury.’ It’s all about the bigger picture.”
of Mercury’s CHANGIN’ Vol. 1 is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Philippines.

200 men and women participate in a nude artistic installation in Israel
200 men and women participated in a nude artistic installation by the American artist Spencer Tunick in the desert landscape around Arad. The photographic installation is designed to support the establishment of the Dead Sea Museum in Arad. As part of the artwork, the artist used a white body paint that had never before been used.
In a cooperation with the Israel Ministry of Tourism, the Arad Municipality, the Dead Sea Revival Project, Spencer Tunick has returned to the Dead Sea region after two earlier installations that won international acclaim and helped raise awareness of Israel as a tourism destination.
Participants in the project say that, this project is expected to be one of the most daring and controversial ever undertaken by the artist. Tunick has created installations in, among others, New York, London, Vienna, Barcelona and Sydney. Today, Arad joins this illustrious list, hosted by the Israel Ministry of Tourism.
About 200 people who agreed to participate in the installation arrived in Arad in the early afternoon and disrobed somewhere in the desert landscape surrounding Arad. The event took about three hours, during which the artist positioned the volunteer models and the camera, according to the background and the light etc.
The installation is designed to draw world attention to the importance of preserving and restoring the Dead Sea, as well as the establishment of the Dead Sea Museum to be built in Arad, under the initiative and leadership of Ari Fruchter who recruited Tunick for the promotional campaign.
Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov: “Every image published by the artist represents a tourism boost for Israel. Millions of people from around the world see the beauty and the tourism potential of Arad and Dead Sea. As Israel opens it skies to vaccinated tourists, we look forward to welcoming them once again to the unique landscapes of the Dead Sea region, one of Israel's leading tourist destinations. "
Spencer Tunick: “It is difficult to hide the fact that the Dead Sea is disappearing and the establishment of the Dead Sea Museum is our way to create awareness of this fact. My visit to Israel was an experience for me and I am always happy to return here and photograph in the only country in the Middle East that allows art such as this.”
